Product Review~ Dollar Tree Rug Underlay
This review is on something we bought at Dollar Tree and I was completely skeptical as to if it would work, because everywhere else we had seen the no slip rug underlays they were $15 ish dollars.
Dollar Tree Rug Underlay:
This thing is awesome! The rug at the backdoor/kitchen hasn't moved since we laid it down. Previously it slid all over the kitchen floor. Hopefully they still have some when we can next return to Dollar Tree, I can definitely use a few for the basement!
Have a great day!

Beauty Faves & Fails
This month I have a few faves and only one fail!
Fails first:
Coola SPF 30 Organic Makeup Setting Spray.
This is a fail strictly because of packaging issues, if that was dealt with/fixed I would purchase this for a summer setting spray. It does smell a bit like sunscreen, and is sticky when first sprayed, but dries quickly & worked well.
Now Faves:
Everything I've previously shared from Physicians Formula!
I don't think I've tried anything I didn't like, other than the CC Mascara not being exactly what I want. (It does aid in curling, just doesn't seem to darken my lashes at all, and that's with Ultra Black.)
Makeup Revolution Ultra Blush and Contour Palette in Hot Spice!
This palette is awesome and has the perfect shades for me (and my natural redness).
I saw the Makeup Revolution dupe for Electric Palette (Urban Decay) on Instagram~ I want that next!
Benefit The PoreFessional Face Primer!
This works wonders for me and I have HUGE pores, I've never had a better pore minimizing primer.
Have a great day!

August Empties!!
![]() | |
This months empties! |
I don't have a lot to share with you this Empties Blog, since it's a new one for me. Hopefully as these go on there will be more to share!
1) Monoi Coconut Oil Nourishing Shampoo (sample) from Ulta.
2) Monoi Coconut Oil Nourishing Conditioner (sample) from Ulta.
These were my "variety sample pack" from a recent purchase. I really liked the way these felt, and that had a nice fragrance, but currently have so much shampoo/conditioner I don't plan to purchase.
3) Revlon ColorSilk After Color Conditioner, I purchased mine at Walmart.
I recently colored my hair ( #34 Deep Burgundy). The conditioner is great, I wish they sold it separately! The color is less purple than I'd like, but good for a permanent formula.
4) Salon Selectives 3 Minute Hair Therapy from Dollar Tree.
It took me forever to use this up, simply because I never reach for it. It doesn't really do anything (noticeable) for my hair.
5) & 6) Amilka: Balancing Shampoo & Amika:Nourishing Mask (Sample Size).
I got mine for Christmas, from my sister with amika: pro curling wand(s) as a set from HSN, they no longer carry it but Birchbox has the hair care (kit) items that came with it and Amazon carries the wand(s). That's when I became an amika fan! I've received a texture spray through Birchbox and purchased their dry shampoo as well, all the products work great for me!
7) Coola SPF 30 Makeup Setting Spray (sample) through Birchbox. (Found the link!)
This actually isn't empty yet, while the formula is great the packaging is an issue and ended up needing to be moved to another sprayer since this one sticks, clogs, and then leaks. I do like the spray, but have heard that the full size still has packaging issues. Because of this I probably won't purchase this.
8) Summer's Eve Lavender Night Time Cleansing Wash (Sample) from PinchMe.
I got two uses out of this little sample, and really liked the formula and the scent. If I didn't have a ton of other body wash to work through I would probably purchase.
Have a great day!

Birchbox!!
My wonderful hubby, and amazing mom got me a years subscription to Birchbox for my birthday!
So far I've received 3 boxes (July, August, and September). I love the surprise and the ability to try high end products without spending a ton of money (ya'll know I'm cheap). So far there hasn't been anything I don't like, and only one product I couldn't use (this months Anastasia Beverly Hills eyebrow pencil, that I gave to my mom).
Here's a peek at my previous boxes as well as my faves and okays from each:
July:
I actually really like everything in my first box! My absolute favorite would have to be the Vasanti® BrightenUp! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator.
That product is awesome!
August:
(Not pictured is Hello by Harvey Prince.) This was another total hit! I was super excited about the Coola SPF Organic Setting Spray (couldn't find it on BB to link), but actually I think my favorite from this box is the Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle.
September:
I just got this box in yesterday, as I said I gave the Eyebrow Pencil to my mom since I didn't have a need/use for it.
I'm not super thrilled by the items in this box, but am excited to try the mask. I actually got the trèStiQue Correct & Cover Concealer Crayon in the perfect shade for my skin and plan to try it out tomorrow. I did swatch it and it seems super creamy, so I'll see. (*Bonus if you can see the code in this pic feel free to use it, I'm not going to.*)
Hopefully I keep getting awesome boxes!!
Have a great day!

What I'm crafting..
Nothing..
I'm still working on putting the craft room/my office together, and will share that when I finish.
This week I will be working on some cards, and I have a few other projects planned to share next month..
Since I'm not working on anything, and am not sharing the horrendous state the room is currently in check out my links posted in the header above.
Have a great day!

My planner.. New
I'm new to planning, but am excited to get on the planner bandwagon, especially since fall/winter tends to be our busy time.
I bought my planner at Dollar Tree, in the back to school section in the beginning of August.
The stamps are from Sweet Stamp Shop, inks from VersaInk (I am using chalk inks I got at Tuesday Morning, I've found they don't bleed through.), and the stickers from Disney. (I haven't unearthed the rest of my stickers yet.)
I'd love more planner stamps, and haven't totally gotten things the way I want yet, but so far it's going well.
Have a great day!

It's been a long time.....Life Update
Wow! Has it really been 4 months since I last blogged?? This summer has flown! Let's catch up on what's been going on.
May:
Packing, Closing, & other stuff.
Packing took forever, who knew we had sooo much stuff!
We found out the weekend before closing that we had to replace a section of the deck before closing could happen. Luckily Chris had the time off, and it only cost about $100. It was an aggravation, but we got it done.
The closing (May 29th) went well, and only took about an hour (til about noon). After that we went straight to the house with our first load of stuff, while Chris tried to get some help mom and I painted the two rooms we wanted done and helped Chris unload. We went back to the rental around 7 that night.
The next day we had a little help, and while they were all running back and forth loading and unloading Mom and I did the final coat of paint in both rooms. At 4 we had major help with a F250 and trailer. (Our truck {my dad's old GMC Sonoma} broke down after 1 load. Our other help only had cars, but 2 of those guys stayed and helped 'til almost midnight.) The rest of the weekend was spent running back and forth. We "moved in" on Saturday night.
June:
Still moving, My Birthday, & Indiana.
I think we all seriously underestimated how much we had, and that moving 2 houses was way more than we anticipated. Luckily F250 guy helped everyday after work and Mom and Chris we're on vacation until Wednesday. On Friday we were done,a few things got left (mostly junk, a glass table {wouldn't fit in car}, some bikes, etc.), but we couldn't handle the back and forth anymore. Mom and Chris went back to work and I started setting up the major rooms (kitchen, bed, bath).
Those were done when they threw my surprise party/housewarming on the 20th.
The next weekend we took our niece to a festival in town as the kick off to their bicentennial, she spent the night and we had a cookout w/ the family the following day.
Late June Chris found out that they actually were getting a shut down for 4th of July week, which has only ever happened once before (and was only 3 days) during his 5 years of employment with them. (Back story: his Mom had called earlier that month to ask if we were coming this year and we told her no we couldn't, he'd used all his vacation to move and other things throughout the year.) So he called his brother and said we're coming (to Indiana), don't tell Mom.
July:
Home, Niece is 5! still getting set up/settled.
We had a great time in Indiana, and came home July 3rd. We had a cookout and fireworks here the 4th. My sister (and family) finally found a house!! They should close by the end of September. (It's taking forever!)
Our niece turned 5~ I can't believe it, she's going to be in Kindergarten! She had a friends and family My Little Pony pool party.
Other than that we've kinda put house stuff/setting up on hold and enjoyed the summer with the family.
August:
Mom is ready to be on her own, more family time, Bristol.
In the beginning of August mom decided she's ready to look for a house, so excited for her!
(She went to an open house and hired that realtor {much to all our hesitation} after looking at several homes and losing one she fired her {yay} and went with the realtor Chris and I used.)
I started organizing some of the house, but really have all winter to get it the way I {we} want it, so again really just spending these last summer moments hanging with the family. Chris' work had their company picnic, and we all went (he won a ton of Tee Shirts). The Bristol Truck races were also in August, and our guy won!
*Mom put an offer in on a house, and it's been accepted Sept 1st, closing is scheduled for Oct 23rd ish.*
My next blog will be Wednesday. (This was supposed to go up on Monday.)
I'm sticking with the M-W-F posting and will share the schedule tomorrow!
Have a great day!
