Recent Beauty Hauls

My sister and I recently got together and did another makeup clean out/ swap.
This was my haul from that! (I already have the Nudes.)
*Necklace in pic not part of haul, from Walmart (2014).

I haven't used the Smokes or Brights yet (See Challenge mentioned in previous blog) but I really like the Blushed Nudes and I think it may be better quality than the regular Nude palette.

From what I can find the Brights nor the Smokes are avalible currently, but here's the link to maybelline current shadows:

The Blushed Nudes Palette is new!
November 16th eye shadow palette (by Markwins Cosmetics) is something that's been in my collection for quite a while, but I never reach for it. My sister challenged me to use everyday for the upcoming week.

I'll share more about this next week!

October Empties

I didn't have many empties this time around either!

1) Almay Oil Free Gentle Makeup Remover~  I had an Almay makeup remover prior to this, that my sister had given me. I don't know if it was a different one or they changed formulas since then but it did a better job. I purchased mine at Walmart In August, simply because I needed a makeup remover and this was all my local Walmart carried. It does the job about 80% of the time, but generally has an issue removing eyeliner and takes a bit of work. I accidentally got this in my eye twice and it burns like nothing I've ever felt before! I have switched makeup remover products and don't plan to repurchase this.

2) Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle~ I got this sample in my August Birchbox and it was finally empty on Halloween (awesome for a sample), and I generally used it 2 -3 times a week. I'm sad it's empty since I just spent my BB Points on the Smashbox kit. I've got a different detangler I'm using currently, but nothing has compared to this. I will repurchase when I get enough points!!

3) Wet 'n Wild Mega Volume Mascara~  finally used most of this up, but now it's getting dry and time to toss. For a long time this was my favorite mascara. Because of Birchbox I'm trying out several different ones but I think my current favorite is from Stila. I don't think I'll run out of mascara anytime in the near future, but I would definitely repurchase this (especially at only $3).

November Birchbox

This month Birchbox released their own cosmetic line (Love of Color, or LOC for short) and each box contained either a lipstick or eye shadow stick. I chose the berry lipstick shade.
I'm not a huge fan of perfume surprises, but this one isn't too bad, just a little strong for me.
The Balm Frat Boy blush is a beautiful color,  the hair serum is good, and not to heavily scented, and lastly the body wash I've yet to use but has a very masculine scent in the bottle.

While I love the formula of this lipstick I expected the shade to be far darker than it is on me. Still a pretty color, just not what I pictured.

Have you received your box(es) yet? Are we box twins?

Have a great day!

I've been in a blah mood lately, and my skin is breaking out like crazy, so I only wore makeup once this week (today, top left pic).

Life Update (October)

The first and second Saturdays in October we spent at my sisters new house, it's coming together nicely.
My hubby had his 36th B-Day on the 6th!
Sunday the 11th we went to Heritage Days in a neighboring town, not what we thought it was going to be. They should have called it quilt & craft show.
On Wednesday the 14th we discovered the tub drain was leaking, and Mom's bed was SOAKING wet. We had to let that dry out and Chris was able to fix it on Sunday.
During this time I switched the Summer clothes out to fall/winter, hubby had his computer/game design class, we went to one haunted attraction, and we did the final inspection at Mom's house.
On the 23rd Mom took a vacation day and I went with her to get all her utilities turned on, at 4pm she had her closing and we were out of there by 4:45pm.
Saturday she moved, and it only took the one day!
On Halloween we had our party, which was a lot of work for so few people to actually come. (When you RSVP you should show up, or at least text or call saying you can't~ I don't even need a reason just some common courtesy.) We haven't decided if we will host next year or not, even though Halloween is Hubbys favorite. We did actually get a few (3) trick-or-treaters, and are thinking about doing a Trunk or Treat next year instead.

Our only plans for November are Thanksgiving & Black Friday shopping! (It's something Chris and I do every year.)

Have a great day!
