MOTW Challenge #2

This past week was FUN! (I need more Challenge ideas, please share in the comment section below.)

New stuff! Urban Decay Electric Palette!

Anytime I'm trying out the longevity of a new eye shadow I don't use a primer.
Note: I didn't notice any of the staining other talk about, but didn't get heavy into the pink shades (the biggest offenders).

New Stuff! Minnie Mouse Collection, Minnie's World in Color Eye shadow Palette.

This week I challenge myself to:
Another look w/ the Electric Palette.
Continue trying new (in my stash) lip products (at least 3).

Do you want a review on any of these products? Let me know.

Have a great day!

April Faves & Fails

I didn't get a whole lot of new products the past few months, and the new stuff I got recently I'm still trying out, so it won't be mentioned here (yet).

Fails first!

Burt's Bees Tinted Balm~ I have two of these, one in a pale pink, the other in a rich berry shade, neither has much pigmentation. I know a tinted balm isn't supposed to be solid pigmentation, but expected more. The pink is actually more tinted/pigmented than the berry, which is pretty much non existent on my lips. I could get over that, but the balm isn't very good either. I have one lipstick from the new line, and it's more moisturizing than the balms (still lightly pigmented however). I remember Burt's Bees being better than this, so I don't know if the formula changed or what went wrong, but these are a fail.

Au Naturale Lip Gloss~ This was bad, like really bad. It smells off, feels weird on the lips, and doesn't apply nicely at all /is patchy.
I will say that the cream blush from this brand was nice, not a fave, but it was a solid B+ product.

Lorac Alter Ego Lip Gloss~ This feels great on the lips, and was very moisturizing. The issue was that when first applied the color was beautiful, but within 20min it was gone (Where did it go?). The moisturizing effect lasted most of the day, so maybe it was a color issue (Flower Child) and maybe not. At $16.00 each, I'm not willing to gamble on Lorac Lip Gloss (again).

Faves!

Living Proof Dry Shampoo~ This one shocked me, I wasn't super happy to get another dry shampoo from Birchbox, but this is awesome! It doesn't have any filmy, funky residue, and my hair looked clean, and more full with lots more volume. I may like this more than the Amika Perk Up dry shampoo.

That's all I've got this month. What were your faves & fails for the month?

Have a great day!

No Recent Craft Hauls, instead Makeup Collection and De-clutter!

Makeup Collection and De-clutter

This doesn't include the stuff I just purchased.

Cleaning this all out and reorganizing was a fun project, but it definitely took longer than I expected.

Anything marked with a red "X" is what I pulled out of my collection to trash, there really wasn't anything worth giving away this time around. (To see up close, click on the picture to enlarge.)
I didn't pull out any lip products to give away/toss, I really need to try them out first, a good portion I've not worn yet, others I know I like.

Not pictured is two eyeliners I knew I was trashing going in, and four Halloween E.L.F. palettes I knew I was keeping. (I can picture those if you're interested, just leave a comment below.) Anything I pulled out was either old, or wasn't working for me.

The last time I went through everything was in November, before Thanksgiving, so it was about time to do it again. I'm going to try and do this every November (before Christmas) and every April (we always travel in May, and my B-Day is in June).

Eye Shadows.
The huge palette is old, like years and years old, and was never very pigmented to begin with. The e.l.f. creams I hardly reach for and are a bit old as well. The Coastal Scents is the worst formula I've ever tried working with. The Wet 'n Wild is a bit powdery and something new I got is far better. The profusion cosmetics just don't work for me. The color looks good for about an hour and then it fades and looks like I have barely anything on, regardless of primer(s) used.

Favorite Product pictured here? The E.L.F. Baked Eye Shadow Palette in California

Eye Liners, Eye Primers, & Mascaras.
The only things I got rid of here were due to age.

Favorite Product pictured here?  Benefit They're Real Lash Primer.

Eye Products. (took this pic, then decided to get rid of more mascaras (as pictured above))

Face Primers, Concealers, & Color Corrector.
I didn't ever notice the e.l.f. wrinkle reducer making any kind of difference, and I gave it more than a fair shot. The Jergens is super old, and I only used it once, I obviously didn't like it, but don't remember anything about it.

Favorite Product pictured here? Another Benefit product, Porefessional.

Highlight & Setting Mist.
Nothing to get rid of here.
The next picture, the e.l.f. tinted moisturizer is old, and has oxidized.

Favorite Product pictured here? The Ulta Highlight, and in the picture below it's gotta be my Physicians Formula BB Cream Powder (light/Medium).

BB Creams, Tinted Moisturizers, & Powders.

Bronzers.
Favorite Product pictured here? The Avon, followed closely by the Beauty Treats Palette.

Blushes.
Favorite Product pictured here? The Beauty Treats Palette.

All Face Products.

Insane Lippie Pile.
I am aware this is A LOT of lip products, I plan to eliminate some of these in the coming months, but really want to try them all out first.

All Laid Out.
Favorite Product pictured here? Hard to say but I love all the L'Oreal Collection Prieve  Nudes, and the NYX Intense Butter Glosses are fun!

Organized Lip "stuff".
Storage.
I got my vintage blue storage boxes from various thrift stores, they work for the space I have, and the best lighting is in that space.

When is the last time you de- cluttered?
Hope you enjoyed!!

Have a great day!

April Birchbox

Love the look of this months box!

See the code? Feel free to use it!

First impressions~
What happened to the tissue paper? This foam stuff feels and looks cheap.

Amika Hairspray~ Love all amika products!! This is another hit. I don't think I'd spend the money on a hairspray, since I don't use them that often.

Au Naturals Trio~ The blush is nice and I didn't have any cream blushes. The lipstick is blah in both color and formula, I've yet to try the eye shadow.  The only thing is while the packaging is cute the samples are TINY. I wouldn't buy this.

Living Proof Dry Shampoo~ Haven't used yet, but I have a ton of dry shampoos so while I wasnt super excited to get this, the size is awesome. Can't say if I'd purchase for sure, but I'd lean toward no at this price since I know of others I really like.

Tess Harper Mask~ Small, but a little goes a long way. I've used it twice and still have quite a bit. It smells awesome, and I did notice a difference right away. My pores seemed smaller and my skin felt smoother. A bit pricey but a possible purchase with points.

Burts Bees Tinted Balm~ I already had one of these, in Hibiscus, so I knew they weren't super pigmented. This is supposedly a reddish berry shade and is almost nonexistent as far as pigmentation. The balm is just ok, so no I won't be buying anymore of these.

What did you get this month? Are we box twins?
What was your favorite?

Have a great day!

Highend only:
I don't have much to work with here (other than a ton of mascara options). I did have to cheat and used an elf powder I never reach for. Stay tuned for my next Beauty/Makeup Haul!!

I remembered I didn't like the coastal scents, but was very limited in choices for a highend look and had to use it, the gold is really bad, and the green is pretty, but hard to work with.

The Stila BB Products are nice, I especially like the illuminating one, but the bronzing is a bit tricky because a tiny bit goes a very long way. I'll have to play with them some more.

Really not a fan of this Coastal Scents from Birchbox.
I didn't link any products, but if you have any questions just ask in the comments below and I'll answer ASAP.

Which look was your favorite?
