Faves & Fails

May Faves & Fails!

{All products mentioned and linked (when available) in previous blogs.}

I only have one fail this month, the Parlor (Birchbox) Sea Salt Texture Spray, it really did absolutely nothing.

Faves:
The Minnie Mouse Eye Shadow Palette from Sephora, I have noticed a couple shades have a bit of fall out, which doesn't bother me, no product is 100% perfect. This isn't really an issue, but personal pet peeve is that Daisy is my BFF should be one of the purple shades (Daisy is a purple lover after all) and the cream color could take one of the purple names. Other than that I love everything about this palette.

Klean Colors Corrector Palette is another hit. The creams are the perfect consistency for me, the green and yellow are my faves!

I am also loving the Urban Decay Electric Palette, which is new to me but has been around long enough I'm sure most everyone has seen it. It's not something everyone will love, but I'm having fun with it.

Physicians Formula Green Correcting Powder, this is another awesome corrector on days I don't want to wear much makeup, or "fuss" with cream products (a.k.a. Lazy Days).

What were your faves & fails this month??

Have a great day!

May Birchbox

My May Birchbox:

I love the box design this month, and am glad they brought the tissue paper back, it just looks so much nicer.

My thoughts on the products I got this month:

ModelCo. Lipgloss~ Very moisturizing, good staying power, I like the nude, but would be interested in trying other colors.

Parlor Sea Salt Spray~ After the horrible experience with their Leave in Conditioner I was half afraid to try this product, but reluctantly I did. It smells pretty good, but did nothing to/for my hair. I'd rather that than the crunchy, sticky, yucky mess of the leave in, but needless to say I'm not a fan.

Real Chemistry Body Scrub~ I haven't used this yet, it seems interesting, I'll update you when I give it a try.

Supergoop Sunscreen~ I like that Supergoop products don't smell like sunscreen, and aren't sticky or slimy, but it's still sunscreen and $50 seems a bit steep to me.

Well People Concealer~ A bit on the thicker side, but I liked this. Not the best ever, but better than some. Not something I'd pay $22 for.

What was in your box?

Have a great day!

MOTW Challenge #4

This has been so much fun! I did well in my challenge(s) last week, I still need more ideas, So please leave a comment below!

This weeks challenges:
1) 5 items or less, and actually look like I'm wearing makeup!
2) I am going to try to use at least 3 more lip products.
3) Now that I have a bit more high end makeup, I'll try a high end vs. drugstore!

Empties

Not a ton to share this time around:

I have a bunch of LipSmackers, but it was a bummer to finish this one up. One because it's from Disney World, and two it was the perfect amount of shimmer to work alone or with lipsticks.

The deodorant worked well, I got it on clearance and already have another, same with the Hand Soap.

The cotton rounds I am not brand loyal with, but these were just okay~ they would "shed" a bit when removing some makeup. Currenty I'm using some that are CVS brand, they seem to be better so far.

I used up the shampoo and conditioner of this, I would use it again, but currently have plenty of others to work through.

What I've been working on (Craft)

I've made a few cards, mostly Mother's Day, and been using my planner more. But haven't really done much crafting recently.

Since I don't have any pictures to share, I found another Crafty Tag Questionnaire:

Questions:
1. Most expensive crafting tool you use on a regular basis.

Sizzix Big Kick

2. Least expensive tool you use on a regular basis.

Stickers.

3. Oldest item you made that you or someone you know still have.

Cards.

4. Crafting tool that was a waste of money.

Liquid "Scrapbook" glue, total waste, not remotely sticky.

5. Crafting tool that was the best bargain.

My ATG (Advance Tape Glider), for $14.

6. Best storage idea you have implemented.

Nothing out of the norm.

7. Worst storage idea you've implemented.

Seasonal supplies in boxes on a bookshelf, but it's the best option I have.

8. Most viewed YouTube craft video.

I generally only watch them once.

9. Least viewed YouTube craft video.

Anything I find boring, and click off of early.

10. Biggest crafting mishap, what project did you try that just didn't cut it.

I can't think of one, but I'm sure there have been things that didn't turn out how I imagined.

11. Item/items you stock up on every time or almost every time you go to the
craft store.

None, but I have a ton of paper.

12. Favorite non craft store place to buy supplies/ items for crafting.

Thrift Stores.

13. Craft you wish you could do but can't.

Sewing, I've tried, but I'm just not very good at it.

14. What's next in your craft tool wish list?

Nothing in particular, but more Slice design cards, or Sizzix dies would be nice.

15. What made you start a YouTube channel?

I currently only use it so I can subscribe to people I want to watch.

(A day early!) MOTW Challenge #3

I am having a blast with these Makeup Challenges, but could use some more ideas, so please leave a comment below with your idea(s)!!

My challenge(s) to myself for the coming week are:
Palette Bingo, using my Klean Color Palette at least once, and my Minnie Mouse, also once. For my version I have to pick at least two numbers, no more than 5. I found the idea here: EmilyNoel.

To try an ombre lip look.

And lastly, to use the Stila BB Cream (mostly the bronzing one that I have trouble with) at least once.

Now for this weeks pictures:
It was in the 80s for the first few days, but I've learned baked bronzer (collage 1 and 2) is probably not the best choice in humid weather.
Each time I use the Electric Palette I like it even more, same goes for Minnie Mouse.
I had fun trying some new things, as well as shopping my stash, and found a very odd lip shade (last collage).

Have a great day!

April Planner Pages

I am finally getting back into using my planner for more than just bill reminders. I decorated some in April, but didn't use any of my planner stamps. I need to stop being lazy when it comes to my planner, because I do enjoy it when I use it completely.

Do you use a planner? How, if at all, do you decorate your pages?

Super Lazy Faux-Hawk (Hair Blog)

To start I teased the top sections of my hair,  then smoothed them out a bit with a comb.

Next I separated the section into two (This is the lazy faux hawk, and I have thinner hair but you could do as many sections as you want.)
Third, I pinned each of those securely with a bobby pin, and pulled the hair up a little to create the bump(s).
Since this is the super lazy way I put the rest of my hair in a bun, but continuing the sections is also an option.  ( Should I give it a try? Leave a comment below and I'll do an Update!)

Life Update

Man, it seems like the older you get the faster time flies, right?
We didn't do much in April, but I can't believe it's already May!

We went out to my sister's a few times, and over to Mom's a few as well.
We started walking M,W,F mornings at the local park, I don't like getting up that early, but it leaves a lot more hours in the day.
I flipped to the Summer clothes after the weather finally got nice and stayed that way.
They (the city) finally started our septic upgrade, it's a citywide thing, they started 3 weeks ago and have been back a few times to look at the massive hole they've dug, but it's still just a gigantic mound of dirt in my front yard (I have a picture if anyone wants to get a visual, lol).
At this point I just hope they finish by my birthday. (This was paid for by the seller before we even offered on the house last year, and was supposed to be done around the time we moved in.)

Other than that our April wasn't too exciting (which can be nice).

So excited for Summer, my favorite season!

Have a great day,
~CraftinWife
