March Everyday Shelf

 Hey Y'all!

February's shelf was minimal which worked out well. Especially after I took the Morphe palettes out to my sister's, where my niece did our makeup, and I forgot them. Didn't miss them a bit, though she did create a good look (on me) with them.  I haven't told her yet, but she can have them.

February Reminder:

I did use the cream makeup a few times, and I think I'm getting the hang of it. It's actually a quicker process for me, but I do still love powder products more.
I managed to use every lip product at least once. You'll see in the next beauty blog (February Looks) the darker brown Urban Decay is not a color for me.
I am in love with these BH Cosmetics truffle blushes, for my skin tone there's a little bit of everything, and the darker shades are great for bronzer/contour.

March's Shelf:

Keeping in minimal seemed to work out really well for February, so I decided to do that again. A few of the same lip products stayed around, I wasn't ready to swap them out yet...

I've had this BH Cosmetics Raye Raye Eyeshadow palette (no longer available) for a while now (6m+) and have only used it once, so we'll see if that stays after March ends.
The tiny Urban Decay is a Vice Lip Kit that needs more use before it's too old.

I want to like the Lorac Brunch palette so much, it was such a let down. I love the color story, but the pigmentation just isn't there. I'm giving it one more shot, I'll try some more primers, and see.
(What is Lorac doing? I hear very little about them, and everything new really isn't, it's just same stuff, different packaging..)
The TooFaced is the Peach face palette, I got it in the Halloween Mystery Box (another story, for another time) and have yet to try it since I've been using nothing (YAY masks!) or  trying out something else.

Old mascaras out! they were getting too old. I'm trying the Stila Magnum XXX Mascara this month. I've not used it before, but I love the Huge Extreme Lash Mascara by them. It's my all time favorite mascara.
Not much else changed in this section.

Clear gloss added here, that was about it.
Also I need to clean these out before doing April's swap out, they're getting kinda gross.

Which of these sounds most exciting to you? Is their anything else/different you'd like to see? Let me know in the comments below.

I appreciate your feedback!

My Planner(s)

 Hey Y'all!

Are you interested in my planners?

If so, I'm open to sharing how I plan, and my goals. However if no one is interested I'll leave the subject with this blog.

I'm just going to share the two I'll be using this year, both from Michaels. I start my planning in February because I prefer the undated planners and they are typically cheaper then.

I don't know if I'll like the two planner system, but I thought I'd give it a try. We'll see.

Overview of the first section(s) in each planner.

Goal Setting.

How the month, and week are laid out in the larger planner:

Is this interesting content for you? As I said above, if so I will share how I'm using the planners, and my goals. If the majority says no you won't see anymore of this content from me (except once a year).

Have a  great day,

Crafty Questions

 Hey Y'all!

I haven't really got anything craft related prepared, so I decided to do a Crafty Tag.

The original can be found here:

Questions

The questions:

1.How did you get into making crafts? My Dad. He was a truck driver for Joann Fabrics in the 80's & early 90's. Mid 90's he switched to warehouse to be home more. I don't know if they still do this, but back then they had "Sample Sales" that were for employees only & they were awesome.

2.How long have you been crafting? Since I was a kid. Growing up in NE Ohio the winter's were cold and boring. That's when we'd craft with Mom. We did a lot of iron on transfers (remember the books?) and fabric paint.

3.What kinds of things do you like to make? Currently all things Cricut.

4.What kinds of materials do you use? All the things!

5.What new crafts do you want to try? I want to get better at crochet.

6.Do you think crafting gets expensive? It can, for sure.

7.Where do you buy your craft supplies? Everywhere. I like to shop in person most of the time though.

8.What recycled supplies do you use? Nothing I can think of, other than thrift shops if we count that.

9.How else do you get or find crafting materials? Stores, and online... that's pretty much it.

10.Do you look up craft projects and patterns online? Projects, yes. Patterns, no.

11.What are your favorite craft websites? Depends on what I'm looking for, but YouTube has everything!

12.What seasonal or Holiday crafts do you enjoy making? Halloween & Christmas.

13.Where do you keep your craft supplies? In the craft room, obviously.

14.Do you like to buy handmade items? Yes.

15.What handmade items have you bought? Soaps, bath bombs, clothes, jewelry...

16.What craft have you always thought was too hard to learn? Cross Stitch.

17.What's one of your favorite things you've made? Either jewelry, or Hubby's company logo apparel.

18.Who was it for? Jewelry was for Mom.

19.Do you like to give handmade gifts? Yes, but I don't always know if they are well received.

20.Have you ever been in a craft show? Nope.

21.What craft swaps do you like to join? Supply swaps, card swaps, that's about it.

22.How much time do you spend crafting per week? Sometimes none, sometimes hours per day.

23.How long can one craft project take you? Depends on what it is. Generally less than 3hrs.

24.Do your eyes, hands or back get sore from crafting? Yes. I'm getting old, lol.

25.How many different craft projects do you have going at one time? No more than 3, it's a rule.

26.Do you read craft books or magazines? When I get the chance.

27.Who else in your family crafts? My sister paints, my mom is artistic but wouldn't think so herself, my niece draws insanely well for a 10yr old. My dad also drew and painted, and did a little woodworking, as well as stone work.

28.What crafts do they make? Can you tell I didn't read ahead? See above.

29.What is a good craft project for kids? Painting bird houses, or anything with their hand or foot print(s).

30.Name as many crafts as you can: How about you do that in the comments below?

Valentine's Special~21 Questions, Make Up Edition

 Hey Y'all!

I saw this on YouTube, from my favorite Garbage Queen, Theresa is Dead. She mentions the tag originated here:

Check out, @Allie Glines!

Video: https://youtu.be/qtwZIeRH3vI

I thought It'd be a fun blog!
THE 21 QUESTIONS 1. What is the oldest makeup product in your collection? Urban Decay Electric Palette. I'm actually wearing it today, but I don't reach for it often.

2. What is your most recent makeup purchase? Physicians Formula Butter Blush. I love PF but I feel like they are slowly pricing themselves out of what I think of as "Drug Store". I only picked this up because it was on clearance at Walmart.

3. What is the first makeup product you ever used? Oh I don't know, I remember trying and getting very frustrated with Cover Girl liquid foundation in the 90's. No color was right, they were all too pink or too yellow! The powder was my go to for years though.
90'S GLORY:

4. What is a makeup trend that you used to love but now you hate? Nude everything. Color is needed.
5. What is a makeup trend that you used to hate but now you love? Halo Eyes, it is pretty.
6. What is your favorite step in your makeup routine? Eyeshadow. Some days I'm not great at it, but that's the step I feel is the most fun.
7. What is a makeup product you can’t live without? Wet 'n Wild pencil eyeliner in black. I don't use it everyday anymore, but couldn't picture my collection without that staple product that's been with me since the beginning.

8. What sparked your love for makeup? No idea. My mom always wore makeup, dang near didn't get out of bed without putting on her eyeliner (still like that). However she always only wore drug store to my knowledge, that has since changed between my sister & I shopping with her. (Her current favorite product is Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette.) My grandma (dad's mom) wore a powder... I can still picture it and remember the scent, but not the name, and her signature red-orange lipstick, both were high end.. all her makeup was. Nothing shouts out as sparking my love for makeup though.

9. What is the worst makeup look you’ve ever done? All of them pre 2005ish LOL.

10. What is your favorite makeup look you’ve ever done? Currently is Christmas 2020:
The pic doesn't do it justice.

11. What is your favorite drugstore makeup product? Physicians Formula BB Cream

12. What is your favorite splurge makeup product? I don't do lux makeup much, I have a Marc Jacobs deluxe lipstick sample I love (Kiss, Kiss Bang, Bang). I actually might buy this when it runs out. But my favorite high end thing is Stila Huge Extreme Lash Mascara, and I have gone through 3 of these, I continually get samples of mascara, so I'm good for a long while, but I would repurchase this one again.

13. What is your most repurchased makeup product? See above.. However, I have too much to try and have rarely liked anything enough to repurchase.
14. What is your earliest makeup memory? I know I wore makeup before this, but does anyone else remember Jane Cosmetics? Mid 90's to early 2000's? 90% sure these were scented too. My sister and I both used this lipstick religiously. It was the favorite of us both. Our shade was MEGABERRY, because what 90s t(w)een didn't wear frosted purple lipstick?

Nostalgia!

15. What is your favorite place to shop for makeup? Ulta! Can't beat the points.
16. What is the most underrated makeup product you own? BH Cosmetics, all of it. They're getting more popular now, but they've always been great products, and affordable.
17. What is the most overrated makeup product you own? I do not get the hype for the Better Than Sex Too Faced mascara, it's ok, but not great.

18. What is a discontinued makeup product you wish would come back? Ha, the Jane Cosmetics, just for nostalgia!
19. Where do you go for makeup inspiration? Instagram, and YouTube.
20. What do you hope to see LESS OF in makeup’s future? Blush noses... maybe I'm just old. Looks cool for cosplay, but other than that I don't get it.
21. What do you hope to see MORE OF in makeup’s future? COLOR... and on a more serious note, inclusivity.

Endometrial Cancer Update (Still NED, WooHoo!)

 Hey Y'all!!

As some of you know my CT (1/22) was questioned because the report mentioned "residual" lymph nodes that were not mentioned in the previous scan (6mo ago).
That CT prep drink is still the nastiest thing ever, and I really struggled to keep it down this time. Orange is the only option at my hospital.

Yesterday (2/11) I finally had my PET scan, blood sugar was good, but it did take them 3 tries to find a vein (if it didn't work the third time they were going to call a nurse for port access). That sitting around for 90ish min waiting on the glucose injection to circulate through the body is boring... Scan was easy enough took all of maybe 15min.

I just got the call....

Everything looks good!

If you're interested in the actual process/my experience with CT or PET scans more in depth just let me know in the comments below!

Have a great day!

Declutter/Clean Out~ Bathroom Cabinets

 Hey Y'all!

I did the Bathroom drawers awhile ago, and the cabinets were in need of a clean out. I was going to do this in two parts ( beauty stuff, and medication) but then I decided that really wasn't necessary. Also I'm going to guess no one is as obsessed with first aid, and cold medicine as it seems like my husband is.

I can't believe how much junk was in here!

Beauty Side:

Really this takes up 3 of 5 cabinets.

Before! What a mess of products.

Nail Kit got tossed, it was soo old.

White Curling Iron also got tossed, it no longer works. Hot rollers are in the giveaway pile.

All cleaned out. Yay!

Hair color stuff doesn't belong in here.

Why is their a Halloween spider in here?

Everything all laid out. Such a mess!

All the Disney gets it's own bin! (More is found and added later.) I especially like the shampoo, and take these when we travel, or use them when I need a little Disney.

Littles! Most are from Birchbox over the past year.

This got moved to where it belongs, in storage with my other cosmetology stuff.

Look how pretty! So much free space.

The brushes and combs I'm keeping for now. I'm not sure these brushes are my cup of tea, but I'll try them out for now. Any recommendations for short hair? Let me know in the comment section below.

My Amica curling wand is probably my favorite tool, and I finally am getting enough hair to use it again. *Mine was a gift from my sister several years ago, link is to current collection.

Products that got tossed! They were all either really old, or empty.

Products I'm going to pass on to family if they want anything.

I knew this needed done, but WOW!

Part 2 (The boring side.)
I really think hubby is obsessed. We have 2 of several things here...
Another mess.

Progress is being made here. (We have 2 peroxide bottles, 3 boxes of gauze... )

Woohoo!

The medicine basket. (Notice the duplicates of cold meds, pain cream, 3 Tylenol bottles of various sizes, and 2 huge bags of the exact same cough drops... good thing I love that guy.)

All clean.

So much room!

This doesn't look like much but it took me 2 hrs! What areas of your home need decluttered? Share in the comments below.

Have a great day,
Craftin'Wife
