October Everyday Shelf (Makeup)

 Hey Y'all!

It's time for next months everyday makeup shelf. As I mentioned in the My Complete Makeup Collection blog, I've picked several items here (mostly eyeshadow palettes) that are on the potential declutter list for November.

First lets talk about September's products:

Everything got used at least once, YAY me!
I'm in love with the Shiseido

SYNCHRO SKIN SELF REFRESHING Tint SPF 20

It blends easily, and is the perfect amount of light medium coverage I like. Heat resistant, but moisturizing, with SPF 20. So glad I received it through Influenster to try out. The TooFaced bronzer is still a work in progress for this years project pan item. I haven't worn it much lately so not much progress is happening, but I'm not very strict with a pan project either. The Profusion (Juicy Lip Tint) lip oils are both down to less than 1/4 left. These are fantastic, however I did notice some leakage- I'm not sure if that's a product package error, or an issue from being stored in my bathroom all summer with no a/c.  Either way I don't carry it with me, so I can easily overlook that.

Onto October Shelf:

I only pulled a few lip products this time. Two pink, two red, a few nude, a shimmer, one purple, and a grey just for fun!

Only a few eyeshadow palettes as well. All of these are possible November declutters...

Not much changed here, same eyeliner, face products, and mascara. I think the Wet 'n Wild Big Poppa mascara is about finished. I really liked this one, and may repurchase in the future but I have plenty of mascaras to work through first.

Overview of the shelf. I think I picked enough here to try everything out a couple times, and make some final decisions on a few items.

What would you have pulled? Let me know in the comments below!

How To: Layer HTV (Heat Transfer Vinyl)

 Hey Y'all!

This is a HTV layering project I've done on a Tee Shirt from WalMart. It's another clearance bleach fail, but I think the end project turned out super cute!

I chose this SVG from The Hungry JPEG by Bizzy Lou Designs because it was easy to scale down, and layer on my shirt while using up scrap vinyl.

Scrap Vinyl (clockwise from top):
The Paper Studio (Rainbow Oil Slick)
Craftables (Black)
Siser  (Purple Holo)
The Paper Studio (Green Foil)

Using a Cricut Design Space template to decided on spacing and size for the design.

Grouping the design elements by color. This step uses more vinyl, but makes placement when layering, so much easier.

Preparing the mats by color. (Be sure to mirror!)

HTV goes shiny side down on the cutting mat.

Time to cut!

Weeding out the design elements. As you can see here, by grouping the items that are the same color it used more vinyl, but everything stays in place. It makes lining up the design much easier, and to me is worth it.

Pressing each layer.

Only heat each layer for 5 or so seconds, then peel the carrier sheet and add the next piece of the design. Be sure to cover all design elements with a heat protectant sheet each time.

Repeat all the steps, using the full time (as stated on the HTV directions) on the last layer.

This design was so easy to work with, and made for a great easy layering project.

Finished project!

If you'd like a more in depth how-to let me know in the comments below!

My Complete Makeup Collection

 Hey Y'all!

First, I want to point out that this isn't a brag post, and I hate that I even have to say that. I'm sharing my collection because I enjoy it. I love seeing others as well, so feel free to tag me on social media (all linked above except twitter which is @CraftinWife). More than 99% of this I bought myself or was gifted from friends/family, there are a few items I received through Influenster, for testing purposes.

Secondly, this is NOT a declutter. I won't be getting rid of anything. Yet. I will talk about favorites, and least favorites from each brand. There are a few items that I know are on the chopping block, I'm going to pull them for October, and then make a final decision. (Declutter to come in November!)

Let's get started:

Top drawer is face stuff~

The Wet 'n Wild primers I just picked up on clearance at Target, I've yet to try them but the eyeshadows from this collection are great!
Everything here is good, nothing is a huge standout, but nothing is totally blah either.

I don't use cream products much, especially in Summer, but both the ABH and the Sephora are nice.
You all know I love the BH Cosmetics Truffle Blushes. They're pigmented, and blendable, and fun! The Wet n' Wild Mega Glow Illuminating Powder is good, but if you want to select just one shade it's a little hard to get a brush in there.

These Zoeva mini palettes are fantastic, so easy to use and such beautiful colors! The Lorac are okay, the pigmentation is different from shade to shade and blending is difficult at times, at their price point I expect more.

Nothing here is holy grail, but I see why the Nars is a best seller for them, it is very nice. As far as poor products here, the only complaint I have is that the Neapolitan Trio from Too Faced is SO shimmery. I have to be very light handed here.

All put back.

High End Eyeshadows:

Too Faced Christmas/Holiday collection! I know a lot of people don't like the holiday collections as much, but I love them all! The smaller ones are nice to travel with because there's enough eyeshadow to do different looks, plus a bronzer and blush in most all of them. If you tried hard enough (had to) you could get just about a full face from one of them.

The rest of my Too Faced shadows.
My absolute favorite from here is Chocolate Gold. The color story, the quality, it's their best chocolate palette by far. My least favorite here is Chocolate Chip, the color story is a bit light and it kicks up quite a bit in the pan, it's just not as good as the others.

Best: Electric
Eh: Nocturnal
I wish Urban Decay would go back to the grunge, fun stuff that they used to do. Hasn't everyone had enough of the Naked palettes by now? Surely no one needs more nudes at this point.

Nabla shadows are fantastic! If you haven't you should give them a try. For me most Pur makeup is good, but easily forgettable.

Lorac, just like with the blush is hit or miss here. Mega Pro 4 and Pro 2 are great, I love Brunch is a huge disappointment. Tarte is another brand that seems to only do nudes, both these palettes have shades I love, bit overall they're just good (not great).

I haven't used the Stila as much because the color story is so different  I can't figure out what to do with it. (It's going to be on the October everyday shelf!)
The Minnie Mouse Sephora Collection is adorable, and surprisingly good.
I've told my MAC story before, so I was surprised at how much I like this! That said it's still not a brand I pay much attention to, so I don't know what they're doing currently.

All back where they belong!

Drug Store Eyeshadow Palettes:

Juvia's Place
These are all fantastic, but if I had to make decisions:
Favorite is Nubian 3 Coral, least favorite The Nudes.

I know Jeffree isn't drug store, but these fit better in that drawer, and Morphe is drug store. I like both of these.

BH Cosmetics puts out consistently good products. I've heard nothing but good about everything but the monthly zodiac palettes.  I like all these here, but if I had to pick a least favorite it'd be the Raye Raye palette, I just never gravitate towards it.

My one offs, I really like all these!

Kara Beauty, these are new to me. I just got them from TJ Maxx. I have swatched them, and they are pretty, but I haven't played around with them yet.

I can't pick a Colourpop favorite, my only complaint about the brand is they release too much, and are starting to get a bit redundant.

So organized! (Too bad it won't stay like this.)

Lips:

Nudes, So many nudes. I apparently like nude lips far more than nude eyes.
Fav: Too Faced Pumpkin (HSN Exclusive)
Eh: LA Colors Lip Liner, it's pretty good for $1, but not anything I would go out of my way for.

Pink!
Fav: Marc Jacobs (Kiss, Kiss Bang, Bang)!! Creamy, pigmented, wears well, easy to apply. My #1!
Eh: Same as above, just a different shade.

Red.
Fav: Stila, (Stay All Day Liquid Lip) both shades. I love that these glide on, reds are hard, but not these.
Eh: Burt's Bees, it's ok, but there are much better glosses out there.

Purple!! My favorite color.
Fav: All of them!

"Odd" colors, clears, and glitters.
Fav: Too Faced
Eh: Arrow Lip Balms, they're good, but lip balm is boring.

All packed up.

Everyday Shelf:
I'll mention my thoughts on these in the October Blog.

Haven't used the Marc Jacobs yet this month, so I guess that's tomorrows eye look!

I still want to get more use out of this Lip Palette!
I received both the Shiseido products from Influenster, the foundation is brand new. (I've used it twice, and so far I really like it.)

That's all of it!

This blog took me far longer to get together than I care to admit, so leave a comment telling me your favorite (or least favorite) products!

Have a great day,
