November Everyday Makeup Shelf

 Hey Y'all!

I can't believe it's already that time again. Here's a reminder of what I was working with in October:

Spoiler Alert! In November's Declutter Blog several of these are going bye-bye. I did manage to wear all of it, several times, as you'll see in the upcoming October Looks Blog. I will say all of this worked well, I just don't see myself using some of these enough before they expire to justify keeping them.

Here's a "sidetracked" moment, This is what I've packed for our extended weekend vacation in Ohio:

(Sidetracked is the word hubby and I use when out and about and we're on a mission to get something/somewhere, and we veer of elsewhere. For example we're going for the milk, and then I see a new kind of salad mix. I'll say "sidetracked" and head toward the salad.)

After I took the picture, I realized that I forgot lip products. I added a lip balm, and the Too Faced Gingerbread Man since it's a shade that goes with anything. This trip should finish off the Big Poppa Mascara, and the Smashbox Eyeshadow Primer. I'm glad to have some empties, but I love that mascara!

Finally, on to the November Shelf:

I'm beginning to believe this Bare Minerals Powder is bottomless. I like it just fine, and it works well, but I'm so ready to move on to something new! I pulled all my DOSE of Colors nudes, I need to remember I have them. I think 14 lippies is a good assortment for the month. (Including the one I'm taking to Ohio.)

The lip oils would have probably been empty, but I didn't use them as much in October. I'm sure I'll finish them both up in November.

I'm excited to really try out the Kara Beauty palettes, I haven't played around with them yet. I've used the Makeup Revolution Simpsons palettes once, and was pleasantly surprised. I'm looking forward to using it more. I switched to a primer oil from Wet 'n Wild, I just need something more hydrating right now.

Overall, I think I pulled a decent amount for the month. I probably could have pulled some more older stuff before I do the declutter, but  I think I have a pretty good idea of what's going (and staying).

What's your most recent makeup purchase? Share below! Mine is the Makeup Revolution Simpson's face and larger eyeshadow palettes.

Have a great day,

200 Get To Know Me Questions (51-75)

 Hey Y'all!

How've you been? I've been doing well, hopeful this rain doesn't last too long. Rainy day's always make me drowsy.

It's been awhile since I've done a get to know me blog, the questions can be found here.

51. If you could choose your own work schedule, would you? I do! It's awesome. Hubby's schedule changed, and because I work for me I was able to adjust no problem.  Now I work M, W, F, and occasionally Saturday from about 3pm 'til anywhere between 6pm and 10pm. Sometimes more, sometimes less. It's hard to pinpoint really, sometimes I'm working earlier and take a break for a few hours to do other stuff, sometimes I get started around 6pm and work until I go to bed around 12am.

52. Is there one job you’d never ever do? I wouldn't want to be a telemarketer ever again, worst job ever, and that was for the Police Benevolent Society.

53. What’s the first thing you do after getting home from work? N/A I'm already home. Before it used to be take off my shoes.

54. Who or what inspires you in your career? Everything! Creatives find inspiration everywhere.

55. How do you approach taking time off from work? I make sure time sensitive stuff is done, then, because I make my own schedule I take off when I need/want.

56. What’s something an outsider wouldn’t know about your industry? It's not as easy as it looks.

57. Do you have a morning routine at work? If so, what it’s like? Generally I start my day by checking email, social media, etc. Then I sit at my desk and get started on what needs done. Not much of a routine, but I don't know how to explain it since it's not the same day to day.

58. What’s your commute to work like? Non-existent.

59. Are you able to work from home, and if so, do you enjoy it? Yes, and yes.

60. Do you get along with all your coworkers? Yeah, I like me.

61. What’s your favorite thing about your current job? The creativity I have over all aspects of running things day to day.

62. What annoys you most? Not getting many sales, not having customer/reader engagement.

63. What’s the career highlight you’re most proud of? Going from PT to Management in a little over 6mo.

64. Do you think you’ll stay in your current gig awhile? Why or why not? If it makes financial sense, yes. I'll always do it, but may have to go somewhere outside of this very PT.

65. What type of role do you want to take on after this one? I like what I'm doing. I enjoyed retail management, but I prefer smaller companies.

66. Are you more of a "work to live" or a "live to work" type of person? Work is necessary, but family is always #1.

67. Does your job make you feel happy and fulfilled? Why or why not? These are getting redundant, and I'm getting bored. I love doing what I do, I love the creativity. I love seeing my customers happy!

68. How would your 10-year-old self react to what you do now? I had no "I wanna be... when I grow up" type ideas, but I think I'd think this is pretty cool.

69. What do you remember most about your first job? It was pretty easy. Leggs Hanes, even when it was busy it wasn't too much.  There was always at least 3 of us there, and we shared the responsibilities.

70. How old were you when you started working? Babysitting, around 14. "Real Job" 16.

71. What’s the worst job you’ve ever had? The aforementioned telemarketing, and Kmart. Both horrible.

72. What originally got you interested in your current field of work? Growing up a kid of crafty creative people?! Dad worked for JoAnn Fabrics in the warehouse, then as a truck driver for many, many years. (Ride-alongs were awesome when they still allowed them!) He finished his career with them at company headquarters in the order shipping/receiving department. Mom wouldn't call herself crafty, but she was (and is) always re-decorating, painting, making curtains, etc.

73. Have you ever had a side hustle or considered having one? This was it. Now it's my hustle hustle.

74. What’s your favorite part of the workday? Designing something new, coming up with new ideas.

75. What’s the best career decision you’ve ever made? I don't know that I've made it yet, but so far it's been believing in myself. Now I'd like to generate enough income to consistently be able to pay a bill or 2, or 3...

Seasonal Closet Flip

 Hey Y'all!

The weather here in TN has changed, and Fall has arrived! I didn't pull out all of the Fall/Winter clothes yet, and the dresser is full as is. I'll have to pull it out closer to Winter and see what we still need/want to keep. Neither hubby or I need clothes, that's for sure.

We only use the dresser(s) for all our clothes, which is why I'd like to find 2 more (1 for each of us). Except my dresses, those are in the closet. The closet in our bedroom also stores the off season clothes, bedding, shoes, and our luggage.

My dresser before:

I had been pulling shorts out as they were folded from the laundry, so there isn't much left in this drawer.

Pants are a mess.

I tried to keep the folded nicely thing going, but once one thing got pulled out it became a mess... every single time, so that didn't really last long.

The shirt drawer was especially a mess!

What I'm putting up for the Season:

I don't think I want to wear these again next week, so they're going up until next year. Under that is more leggings and some sweatpants. This one sits under the bed if I change my mind and want to swap some out later.

Shorts, tank tops, and Tees.

Swim season is over, time to put these up. Along with a few Summer dresses.

What the dresser looks like now:

Jeans and such.

Comfy pants! This drawer is at capacity, and I still have more!

PJ's.

Shirt drawer is pretty full too!

Lastly is the donate pile:

I plan to take these into town tomorrow, along with a bunch of plastic bags, they are always needing those.

The top two drawers are just underwear and socks, I'd like to get that down to 1 drawer so I can have an additional drawer for sweaters/sweatshirts, since they're so bulky. What's your dresser looking like now? Do you have a seasonal wardrobe? Share in the comments below!

Halloween Decor, or lack of...

 Hey Y'all!

I had plans to do all our outdoor Halloween decorations, and most of the indoor this year. I was going to do it up big since we haven't been able to the past few years! We keep talking about it, but until very recently it's been in the 80's every single day. It's hard to get that Fall feeling when it's still hot & everything is still green. Hubby kept putting it off (even more than me) because he didn't want to have our landscaper/lawn care mow around everything. In his defense the yard kind of needs mowed again now.

Here's what I have done:

I have an Autumn sign on the backdoor, the witch on the front, the haunted house in the kitchen, and the smaller houses in the Living Room window. I also have a wood ghost (from Dollar Tree) I painted with Glow-in-the-Dark in the hallway, the mat is in the back since we use that door more.

Outside I did put these guys up under the overhang out front:

We have soooo much Halloween Décor, if we decide to put it out I'll post an update. The basement (Holiday Storage) needs decluttered next, but there's a running list of about 1000 things that need done at all time, so it's not high on the list.

Have a great day,

Skincare Declutter

 Hey Y'all!

I'm going to have to push back the closet flip again, it's still way too warm here to put the shorts away for the year. So I've moved it back, and moved the Skincare Declutter to today.

The skincare drawer before, it really needed some organization!

I only ended up decluttering 2 items this time. The Loreal wasn't a favorite, it was a bit too hydrating for me, and so it's been sitting around unused for far to long. So long in fact I don't think it's even still  available. The Too Cool For School Egg Mellow Cream I used twice, and just wasn't a fan of.

This, plus the items on the counter, are all the items I kept:

I need to use up these samples!

I'm not sure about the *Pacifica Bubble Clay Mask, I've used it twice, and it does a good job, but it doesn't really "bubble" up.
*I got mine at TJ Maxx for $6USD.

What are your skincare favorites? Let me know in the comments below!

Have a great day,

What I'm Working On (Crafty)

 Hey Y'all!

I can't believe how fast October is going! Halloween is right around the corner. (It's hubby's favorite!!)

I worked on a few home decor items, as well as a few shirts, got my etsy store up and running, entered (and won!) a Cricut contest, and worked on a few orders.

I had some little helpers with these Halloween Decorations:

All the wood designs are from Dollar Tree! Vinyl is Oracal 651, and the paint is from Apple Barrel.

A Halloween(ish) Shirt:

This one was for me! Gold vinyl is ??? from Tuesday Morning, the Glow in the Dark is from The Paper Studio. The skull SVG is from Design Bundles.

My Etsy Shop:

Cricut Contest Entry:

The rules for the contest were to make a Halloween home decor item using the pumpkin SVG (from Design Space). Any other design elements were allowed, but the pumpkin must be featured. I think I was one of the ten winners because a lot of the entries didn't follow the rules. (Either they weren't decor, or Halloween themed. Most all had the pumpkin featured.)

Other Stuff:

Can't remember if I shared this vinyl haul from the Silhouette Cameo I purchased on FB Marketplace, but these were her scrap pieces! I haven't had a chance to play around with it much yet, but liked the ability to design more freely.

Another of the skull.

Hello Fall onesie!

This was how the gear orientation was for this person, I probably could have done more starting over completely, but they liked this design.

A bit of Cricut Cartridge Info:
I've spoken with Cricut and the Link Cartridge feature is down, they do not have a timeline on if/when it will be fixed. I speculated that they were phasing it out, since the newer machines don't have a cartridge port. She couldn't confirm, and just said they (Customer Support) were more than happy to help via phone or chat for anyone was needing to link their cartridges. The process via chat only took a few minutes once connected to a rep. It was all fairly easy, they give you a ticket number, and you take photos of your cartridges and upload them. Both times I've had to do this the Customer Support team has been happy to help, and quick to get them linked.

Check out the Etsy Store if you have a moment, Thanks!

Fun Friday~ Our Favorite Video Games

 Hey Y'all!

In our spare time, when weather makes it hard to go "out", or we just need to chill, hubby and I like to play video games. For him this started in early childhood, and while we (my sister & I) had a used NES one of my Dad's friends gave us I didn't really play video games much before hubby and I got together.

Here's a list of our favorites by console brand. So our favorite out of all the Nintendo Systems, Xbox Consoles, etc.

Atari: This console is older than both of us!

Sega:

Neither of us had this system, but cousins or friends did. Hubby just picked up a Sega Genesis w/ The Lion King at a Yard Sale last week. Then we checked out a new game store, Tony's Place, and he picked up 2 more games for $11! (Tony heard it was his birthday & gifted him a 3rd game, Happy Birthday to him!)

We don't own these (yet) but they are our favorites from Sega~

Hubbys favorite.

My favorite!

Nintendo:

This is where it all started for both of us. As I mentioned above sis & I got a used NES as kids, it came with Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt, Jaws, Disney Adventures in the Magic Kingdom, & Super Spike V'Ball. We didn't ever get any more games than that, and didn't have a gun for Duck Hunt. I remember laying in the living room floor with my sis and Dad, and playing Jaws for hours on the freezing cold Ohio winter days. Sis & I played the others as well, but Jaws we always played with Dad. This was the only game system I had, and as teens I don't remember ever playing much.

Hubby had all the Nintendo Systems, but not a ton of games. His favorite was always Mario Kart.

When we met he was up to the N64 and we'd play Wave Race. His brother had a PlayStation, and occasionally we'd all play together. (I don't remember which games, but this was 2001-2002.)

Since then we've had every Nintendo (we wore that Game Cube out doing game nights with our friends in our first apartment, especially NFS Underground 2), though we didn't do much with the WiiU. Favorite Switch game for me is probably Mario Kart, hubby really likes Zelda.

I don't remember when he/we got the Game Cube, we both worked allll the time then. The Wii we got on release at WalMart an hour from home, because they were the only store that still had it in stock. We bought the WiiU on a whim because we had all the Nintendo consoles and we wanted to play ZombieU, we really only ever got a handful of games for it. Hubby got a Switch on ebay pretty soon after release, then won mine through Lunchables the last time they did the instant win game. They (Lunchables) were on sale, so we bought 5/$5, and that's what he took for lunch that week. He won on day 3, and I figured he was joking. He wasn't.

*I could go on with awesome Nintendo games we both loved, but this is supposed to be just our absolute favorites.

PlayStation:

Hubby's Brother owned one, and eventually we got a PS2 used through one of Hubby's friends at work. We then got the PS3 on a Black Friday Sale, the 4 I won in an arcade claw game. I liked the PS2, but haven't really played the PS3 or 4 much. (I prefer XBOX, hubby likes them all pretty equally.)

Fav Games~

Hubby likes all the Twisted Metal games, I like this one and Black the best.

I probably have all the Soul Calibur games, just on different consoles. 2 & 3 are my favorite.

We have a ton of PS 2 games, and so some honorable mentions here are the GTA, and Resident Evil series.

XBOX:
We never got the original XBOX, but got a refurbished 360 at GameStop in 2007 (?) and it's still running strong. We "bought" hubby's XBOX One Day 1 Edition with Mt Dew/Doritos points. (Remember when that was a thing?) We got points from friends, family, his work buddies, just about everywhere, to make it happen. Mine we bought years later when hubby decided he'd rather play on separate screens.

Favorites~

For me it's both Left 4 Dead games, by far my absolute favorite.

I can't wait to play Back 4 Blood! (I need to add it to my Christmas List.)

Hubs favorite is Dead Rising 3.

My favorite version of Diablo 3 is also XBOX One, which is where we play together. Another honorable mention here is the Burnout series.

PC Games:

My sister and I got an older computer off that same friend of my Dad's, he was very into technology/gaming and didn't have kids of his own. We'd play (floppy floppy disk, what's now referred to as floppy was called hard disk then) Flight Simulation games, Wheel of Fortune, and use Quicken to run pretend businesses.

Hubby had a few computers before we got together, but we are old. We (together) got our first "good" computer, an emachines, (lol) in 2001. I make fun, but we had that computer for several years. I didn't do much with it (we didn't have internet) until we moved (back for me) to Ohio (from VA) and hubby introduced sis and I to The Sims

PC Favorites~

Sims 2 is the best version by far. Love it! Still play it.

We both play all 3 Diablo games on PC.

This was a runner up for both of us.

This was another favorite!

Board Games:
We hardly ever play board games unless it's a whole family game night. Playing most games with just two people is kinda boring, but our favorites for game night are Monopoly, Clue, all the different versions of Uno, and Apples to Apples.

What are your favorite games? What new games are you excited to play? Let me know in the comments below!
