Hey Y'all!
Well December flew didn't it?!
My passions lie in the beauty industry (since 1998) & the Craft industry (since childhood, but truly re-ignited in 2010). Beauty & Craft inspiration, product reviews, and how-to's, as well as general life stuff..
Hey Y'all!
Well December flew didn't it?!
Hey Y'all!
I can't believe how fast December went by! The older I get the faster it seems the days go by.

Colourpop x Muppets Review~ http://craftinwifescreations.blogspot.com/2022/12/colourpop-x-disneys-muppets-collection.html
Here's January's shelf:
I didn't want to pull much for January. It's generally our coldest month, therefore we go out less. Not that I need to leave the house to wear makeup, but typically that's the case.
A lot of the products are the same:
Too Faced Pillow Lip Balms
ColorPop x Disney's Muppets Super Shock Shadows
Cover Girl Concealer
Flower Beauty Foundation
Bare Minerals Powder
Colorpop x Disney's Muppets Glitter Gel
Too Faced Bronzer
Lorac Shadow Primer
Laura Mercier Mascara
LA Colors Lashes & Glue
Some are Christmas Gifts:
The Creme Minnie Lip Balm
Anastasia Subculture Palette
LA Colors Setting Spray (not Christmas, but new)
All the other items I've used before, but it's been awhile! I think I pulled the perfect amount, however I didn't look in the eye shadow palettes, I just grabbed my new one, and reached for 3 additional. We'll see what looks I come up with for January, I may have to pull other shadows in.
December Review:
As linked above, I've shared my thoughts on the Colourpop in great detail a few times. I also really liked this Too Faced collection, and though all the shadows preformed well, they did kick up a bit in the pan, but applied perfectly fine. I'm so close to emptying several products, but was glad to finally finish up the ELF Setting Spray. Any other item I have talked about previously, but if you have any questions about an item you can find me on most social media @craftinwife or leave a comment below and I'll get back to you ASAP.
Did you get any new makeup for the Holiday's? Share in the comments below!
Have a great day,

Hey Y'all!!
I finish reading The Wish, from last book blog, and I was right. Heartbreaking. Even though I had it figured out, and knew it was coming. I really enjoyed the book though, and suggest you read it if you're into fiction/Nicholas Sparks.
The Air Frying books:
https://www.amazon.com/Complete-Book-Air-Frying-Recipes/dp/1645581144
https://www.amazon.com/Healthy-Air-Fryer-Delicious-Calories/dp/1640306331
We've looked these over a few times, and have made two of the recipes, both were good. We've used the Air Fryer more times than I can count, it's so quick & easy.
Beyond finishing that up and thumbing through a few magazines I didn't allow myself much time for reading this month. I did watch way to much TV via streaming services. (Really, really enjoyed 1888.)
I have chosen my next book, and plan to start it today, but haven't opened it yet:
Kearney, Cheyenne, Rawlins. Reno, Sacramento, San Francisco. At each train station, a few lucky orphans from the crowded streets of New York City receive the fulfillment of their dreams: a home and family. This "orphan train" is the vision of Charles Loring Brace, founder of the Children's Aid Society, who cannot bear to see innocent children abandoned in the overpopulated cities of the mid-nineteenth-century. Yet it is not just the orphans whose lives need mending -- follow the train along and watch God's hand restore love and laughter to the right family at the right time!
I found the trilogy at a local thrift store and it sounded like my type of story... we shall see.
Beyond that, I don't know what I'll be reading in January. Any suggestions?
Have a great day,
Craftin' Wife
Hey Y'all!
I don't have a ton of empties to share this time, but the few I have I enjoyed, but have no plans to repurchase as of now.
Previous empties blog:

http://craftinwifescreations.blogspot.com/2022/05/recent-empties.html
Empties~
I did not photograph the shampoo empties, Suave and OGX. I just forgot, however the OGX was nice, and the Suave was ok, but hubby used it far more than I so it's finally empty.
As a replacement I have bought an LA Girl? LA Colors? from Walmart for $3. I haven't used it yet, but figured for that price it was worth a shot. (I always get those two brands confused.)
2) Bath & Body Works Shimmer and Shea Lotion- No longer exists. I had this hidden in the closet for a while, when I remembered it the formula was a bit ick. I recall it being sticky, hence why it ended up in the closet, but the ability to control the shimmer to lotion ratio was neat.
3) Dove (Men's) Facial Cleanser- Part of one of hubby's gift sets, he used it a few times, but prefers others, I found it perfect for shaving (especially underarms). It also looks like this product no longer exists, at least not online.
4) Aeropostale Peach & Daisy Body Wash- I got this in the clearance section in a 3 pc set. I'm still working on the lotion & body mist. I really like this scent, and it was gentle enough for my skin.
I just finished it so I haven't picked which one I'm going to use next yet.
5) Benefit PoreFessional License to Blot- Part of a gift set, no longer available, very similar to the flower beauty clear foundation, which I really like. I'll need to find something else comparable to those soon, as it too is discontinued. Any suggestions?
Until next time...
Have a great day,
Craftin' Wife
Hey Y'all!
This blog has been requested a few times now, and I'm excited to share an overview, and how to with you...
In part one I'm going to go over how to find and install DS, the Home Screen, menus, and what they do, and a general overview of all the "other" (non design) spaces within Design Space.
There are a lot of fake design space links out there, and they try to charge you but...
Design Space is free! (Unless you choose to have access.)
PC~
Design Space link:
How To install:

More info on access:
Open Design Space:
Here's my Home Screen:
From the LEFT:
The drop down menu (referred to as the hamburger menu)~
1) Your Name
2) View Profile (this is where all your public saved projects, and a blurb about yourself, and any other info you want to share will be. Optional.)
Mine looks like this~
https://design.cricut.com/landing/profile/5b9ba957cc8e76062d1231c9
3) Home
Takes you back to that start/home screen.
4) Canvas
This is where all your design work, prep, etc will be.
Here's a look at the blank canvas~
We'll get more in depth with this later.
5) New Product Setup
This is where you'll let the program know which machine(s) you have, and connect them to your account.
Each one will walk you through the set up process once you choose your machine. (If you have more than one, they all need separately set up.)
6) Calibration (Used for print then cut projects)
DS (Design Space) will prompt you to print a calibration sheet, on regular copy paper. Then load into your Cricut, and follow the on screen prompts.
7) Manage Custom Materials
This extensive list (far longer than the picture) allows you to change the cut settings for every material your machine can cut. I have never had the need to manually change the settings, beyond the more or less pressure options in the make screen. However if you use a material often you could make a custom setting for it specifically.
8) Update Firmware
This is the first firmware update I've ever done, it took less than 5 seconds for both of my machines.
9) Account Details
Literally that, all your account details, email preferences, subscriptions, order history, etc.
10) Link Cartridges (Explore Family)
No longer works, if you have cartridges to link you must call member care.

File- New Window, Quit
I never use this quit, I just X out.
You can run more than one DS project at a time with multiple windows open, but I rarely do this. If I have a large project I tend to weed the first bit while the second is cutting, so I can't be designing too.
View- Reload, Full Screen
If DS is acting up I just close it and restart rather than reload, I've never had reload actually work for me.
I just use the windows button, and leave DS full screen always.
Help- Help, Contact Member Care, Videos, About
Never used any of these from this menu.

The app on the play store~

Again, DS App is free, if it's trying to charge you it's not the Cricut application.
Once you've got it downloaded:
Things look a little different on the Home Screen, but the functionally at this point is the same.
The home button, and my projects are at the bottom of the screen, notifications are on the left, canvas on the far right, and you can only work on one project at a time. All other options from here function almost identical to the PC version.
The big differences come in the next part(s) of this blog series, when we get on canvas, and start working within that.
