March Mini Review & April Everyday Makeup Shelf

 Hey Ya'll!

This time I've decided to put next month's shelf first, and the March Mini Review at the end. Let me know in the comments which you prefer!

Here's what I've chosen for this month:

I'm looking forward to having less to choose from. I'll still grab something else if I need to, but I'm excited about starting with a smaller group of products to choose from.

Close ups:

I've decided to leave the Anastasia out, until I use it up or get sick of it, which ever comes first.

The same with the Dose of Color nudes, plus I couldn't fit them back in the nude box without picking new ones out, and I really want to focus on the Anastasia this time.

Just a few palettes this time, but I should be able to get a large variety of looks out of them.

Middle section stayed the same.

I've only used these Wet 'n Wild Highlight products a couple times, excided to truly try them out.

March Mini Review:

I had a lot of fun with makeup in March! These BH Cosmetics palettes are awesome ( I picked mine up at TJ Maxx)! I'd like to find the rest of this collection. They're very pigmented and pretty easy to blend.

The Mean Girls palettes from Profusion were also pretty good (both the eyeshadow, and the face trio).

It was the first time I've used the Storybook Cosmetics palette, even though I've had it quite awhile. I also really like it. I love the color story, blendability, and packaging.

 March was full of hits!

Y'all know how I feel about that Too Faced mascara, it's okay. Just like y'all know I love IBY Beauty.

The shelf for March (pictured above) it what was missing from my makeup collection:

Now that you've seen all my makeup what products would you have added to this month's everyday shelf? Let me know in the comments below!

SMHC (Store) Update!

 Hey Y'all!

My store contract has officially ended and is now month to month, but I still haven't decided beyond April what I'm doing.

I have sold a few smaller items at the store, and received a few orders through the store, via the owners referral, and the facebook group

It's still not entirely profitable, as I have so much product sitting in the store currently, but I am at least making more than rent.

Previous blogs about the store:

https://craftinwifescreations.blogspot.com/2022/02/how-did-smhc-grand-opening-go.html

https://craftinwifescreations.blogspot.com/2022/01/one-month-store-update.html

Here were the  latest custom orders:

Referral~

A 12x12 decal for a Noodle Board.

I gave her a couple options, and this is what she chose.

Probably should have taken the picture BEFORE putting on the transfer sheet.

Customized~

The store sign.

Mailbox Decal set.

My thoughts:

Pros~

Semi-passive income, once I've delivered the items I don't really need to be involved. ( I am, I like to promote my products, and the store as much as I can as it's beneficial to both to do so.)

The owner is really passionate about this being a success for everyone.

The other vendors are super helpful/supportive of each other.

I don't have to do sales tax.

We can set up our displays however we'd like.

We set our prices.

Cons~

It's super slow.

The location isn't the best.

The store is still brand new, so there is not much community support.

As stated above, I've decided to stay thru April, and just take it monthly for now. It's a new venture for everyone involved, and it is slowly picking up. I have other avenues I'd like to put some more focus on, and I am doing a show in April (locally) . I'm very undecided right now.

My Makeup Collection Part 2 of 2

 Hey Y'all!

Here's part two of  my makeup collection, the rest of my eyeshadow palettes, and all my lippies! I did video again, and it's getting better. At least this time isn't mirrored. I also did pictures, and I'll interject my thoughts under each of those.

These collection blogs did not include the everyday shelf for this month, I'll give thoughts on those items in April (or I have mentioned them previously).

Part 1 if you missed it:

Eyeshadow~

Are you interested in swatches? Of which palettes? Let me know in the comments below!

I'm still wondering what's going to happen with BH Cosmetics, I haven't heard anything new lately.

This is all my single, or few of brand palettes. I've yet to try the Revolution Huda Beauty dupe, my sister had it and hated it, so I'll try it soon and let you all know my thoughts. I love the Simpsons collab, but what are the Revolution Beauty umbrella of brands so hit and miss? The L.A. Girl Hey Hey Vacay is also very nice! I love the color story, and the pigmentation, and blendability are both good.

I actually like both of these, mainly because they're full of such fun colors!

I love IBY Beauty! Both the Carry On palettes have everything I need to travel.
(If you're going to shop the brand use code CraftinWife25 for 25% off your order!)

Out of all my Juvia's Place my favorite is probably The Tribe, those green shades looks phenomenal on everyone! My least favorite would probably be The Nudes, the mattes are just too close to my skin tone, and such similar shades I can't get a look I like with them alone.

ColourPop creates such cool eyeshadow palettes, my issue with them is that the whole brand has such a quick "on to the next thing" mentality that each collection is starting to be very repetitive, and I can't keep up with them. I do love all of these palettes though, and picking a favorite is impossible.

I'm new to this brand, Kara Beauty, and I've only tried these three palettes, but I want the rest of this collection:

Are any of your favorites here? Am I missing your holy grail? Tell me about it in the comments below!

Lippies~

I know some of these look like I have them in with the wrong category/color family, but when I swatched them last year this is what made the most sense to me. Want to see swatches? Let me know below!

Reds! My favorite here are the two Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lip, they just wear nicely. They don't budge and aren't drying.

Purples! The Kat Von D are on the chopping block for sure, I've worn them maybe a handful of times, and I just don't love them. They're getting kinda old anyhow, same with the Too Faced Melted Metal, though I do like them.

Pinks! I like all of these, and they're all different. I think my favorites are the LA Qa & Co Cheeky Lip, and Sephora Jem collection (the movies sucked, but I'm old enough to have watched the cartoon, and it was awesome!) both no longer available.

Random! Again, the Kat Von D blue is on the chopping block. The Boost (from Birchbox) got cut off in the video, but they're both pink lip balms. Not my favorite, but I use them at home in the winter when my lips are super dry.

Lastly,  Nudes! I clearly have a favorite, especially since the bulk of the everyday shelf is also nudes. There are some here that probably need to be in the next declutter too. I love nude lipsticks! What's my favorite here? It changes all the time!

What's new in lipstick? I have no idea, so let me know in the comments what you're buying!

Have a great day,

What I'm Working On (Crafty)

 Hey Y'all!

It's been a busy month!

Here is the previous What I'm Working On Blog: http://craftinwifescreations.blogspot.com/2022/02/what-im-working-on-crafty.html

As I've mentioned before I opened a new online shop with Go Imagine, you can find it here:

https://goimagine.com/craftinwifescreations/

To read more about their business model, and charity work read here: https://goimagine.com/caring-economy/

The set up for this one was a little more difficult, there's far less automation, and more control overall on the sellers end.

Here are a few products you can only find there:

I still need to work on the shop, to make it easier to purchase (with all the variants), but it is live.

I also made an Address Door Sign, the blog about How-To is here:

http://craftinwifescreations.blogspot.com/2022/03/how-to-create-stencil-with-cricut.html

I'm currently working on our family's Easter shirts, I've shared about them on TikTok & Instagram (linked in the blog header above).

I had an order for this shirt, no matter what I did with the pic it looks gold, but it's actually silver mirror vinyl.

I finally made it out to the store to see the finished sign!

I did a few items for my sister:

This is the color changing vinyl from Craftables!

Lastly as I shared in a previous blog, I got the craft room organized! Then I made myself this shirt:

What have you been working on lately? Share in the comments below!

My Makeup Collection Part 1 of 2

 Hey Y'all!

I learned a few things, as I always do when taking video for these blogs. I didn't even think of the screen mirroring when using the front camera, so everything is a bit wonky, but most everyone can tell what things are and I didn't want to re-film them. I also finally learned how to remove the background noise on my phone, YAY. What app or software can I use on my (Android) phone to do voice over? I think that would really help make better, easier to follow videos. Let me know your suggestions below!

Since I have 4 makeup drawers I decided to break it into 2 blogs. One, so things don't drag on over several blogs and get boring. Two, they're really isn't that much to share. I have a decent sized makeup collection but nothing like some BIG youtubers/influencers/beauty gurus have. Three, I just did a declutter not long ago, and will do another in the fall.

The previous declutter blogs:

http://craftinwifescreations.blogspot.com/2021/11/makeup-declutter-part-1-of-2.html

http://craftinwifescreations.blogspot.com/2021/11/makeup-declutter-part-2-of-2.html

On with the show!

In this first part I'll be showing all my face stuff  and half of my eyeshadow palettes. They used to be separated, drug store & high end, but that's not completely accurate now.

Face products, all put away!

Drawer 1 of eyeshadow palettes!

Videos:

Face!

Eyeshadow Palettes!

My thoughts:
I need to do a makeup challenge, so I use more of what I have, especially cream products.
My top three here are~  Shiseido Face Sunscreen, BH Cosmetics* Truffle Blush, and surprisingly the Ulta Beauty Moroccan Magic Eyeshadow Palette.

*I am anxious to see what is going to happen with BH Cosmetics, currently it looks like there is very little available, and what is there is deeply discounted.

My least favorite item~ Urban Decay Naked Reloaded, I've mentioned this palette, and the brand before, but they've completely lost their edge. In their defense however, if you look at social media, and polls all the major brands do, it seems like boring Becky makeup is what the majority of consumers want. While all things nude definitely have their place (and are needed) it's a little sad to see what used to be an "edgy" high end brand become what UD is now. Especially since there's no one (that's not an indie brand) currently doing anything that may be considered different, or edgy. All that said, I do enjoy this color story, I just wish it were better.

What are your thoughts (on any of the brands, or makeup in general)? How do you like the video, pic, text combo? What would you like to see for part 2? Let me know in the comments below, or find me on social media!

Have a great day,
Craftin' Wife

P.S. If you are interested in custom apparel and have a few minutes to spare can you help me out by filling out this survey?

Thanks!

Craft Room Clean Up!

 Hey Y'all!

Slight change of plans:

Originally it was this~

11th Fri~ Craft Room Update
14th Mon~ How-to stencil w/ Cricut

But my Uncle passed away last week, so my sister, Mom, and I road tripped to KY for the services (Thursday/Friday). So, between that and prepping for the snow "storm" we got on Saturday I couldn't blog on Friday, and didn't have time to prep for todays.

Today will be my cleaned up craft room, and the 18th (Friday) will be the stencil How-To!

It was a mess! In all honestly it doesn't look much different in pictures, but I know the drawers are more organized, and I have more floor space.

Before~

I started moving things around, and then realized I had forgot to take any pictures. In the first few pics I had already moved some stuff out of the closet, and made room for the purple rolling cart, and my Silhouette, since I don't use it near as often.

Very messy desk area.

I don't know why Hubby hooks the printer up on the floor.

Vinyl everywhere!

More vinyl!

The bookcase area(s) didn't change much overall.

So much vinyl! (This didn't change either, it took me forever the first time I set it up.)

Scraps, transfer tape, and infusible ink.

Cards, most of these got trashed.

Under the desk.

In progress~
This was about an hour into the clean up/declutter/organization.

Decided to hang my Cricut mats, I think I'll like this better (than under the machine).

Scooted the Air 2 over to fit the Canon printer on my desk, and yes, more vinyl.

Floor!!

W.I.P. Decluttering...

Floor all vacuumed.

After~
Areas that didn't change past the progress report aren't re-pictured.

Foot space!

All my smaller dies are in the box.

Shirt inventory I need to log in, but clean floors!

Deciding where I'm putting sheets of HTV. (On the first shelf of this cart.)

Overview of the room.

Decided I had wayyyy to much vinyl to keep the scraps, so they got decluttered. Only keeping the HTV scraps for the foreseeable future. (Nothing else here really changed.)

(The cords have been re-routed now.)

These drawers got decluttered too.

What did I declutter?
As I mentioned already I threw away most of the cards, and decluttered all my (regular) vinyl scraps. I also went through all my pens and now have one small tray of them instead of that plus a Tropicana Casino cup full. A good majority were dried up and got tossed. ( I went through my markers not long ago.)  The Tropicana cup now holds my skin toned markers

Declutter~

Everything fits in 3 boxes.

A lot of misc. Stickers, brand new scented markers, stamp pads I have duplicates of, more stickers, paint, Cricut Jukebox, etc. The entire Keurig box is skeins of yarn.

Vinyl scraps.

Crochet hooks, I only kept my favorites, I don't need all of these.

Lastly, a Bowdabra, and a ton of 12x12 paper.

The craft room is so much better organized now!
What should I do with the decluttered items? Any good places you know of to donate them? Let me know in the comments below!

Have a great day,
Craftin' Wife
