I Need Hair Help

 Hey Y'all!

So, as the title states, I need help.

I don't know what to do with this thick, straight hair.

Currently it looks like this:

It is long enough to curl, do a few updo's etc. It's also thick, and annoying. I guess where I need help is style suggestions, hair cut recommendations, really any help you want to give.

My only requirement is that it's easy to maintain, and can be styled fairly easily. I'm open to letting it grow, if I know of a few styles I can do. I'm also open to a short cut. I need feedback!

Leave a comment below, or on any of my social media.

Have a great day,

Always Playing Catch Up

 Hey Y'all!

It seems I'm always playing catch up here lately, and I appreciate you sticking with me!

Radiology measurements and calibration was today, it's easy though a bit uncomfortable. They said it'll be about a week until my first session. (They'll call me.)

Now.. to catch up on blogs...

17th Wed- Mascara Review

My favorites in both high end, and drug store remain the same:

Wet 'n Wild Big Poppa & Stila Huge Extreme Lash

Previous blogs that mention a mascara:

https://craftinwifescreations.blogspot.com/search?q=mascara

How do I like the creme mascara(s) I recently purchased? They're pretty nice! I'll have to try both out a few more times to form a better, more thorough opinion.

I still don't like TooFaced Better Than Sex mascara, it's not the worst, but it doesn't do anything for me, but darken the lashes. Another I don't like is the Wet 'n Wild protein mascara, it just doesn't enhance the lash in any way.

Do you have a favorite mascara? Share in the comments below!

19th Fri- Share About Outland Adventures

Hey Y'all!

Outland Adventures is hubby & I's van life outlet! We've been full time just shy of 6 months now.

Here's a little get to know us from one of our blogs last year:

 Hey Y'all!

We figured it'd be fun to sit down for a few minutes and answer some travel questions as a kind of get to know us blog. We'll answer as many as we can today, and revisit the questionnaire again in the future. Feel free to add your questions in the comments below and we'll add them to the list next time!

The questions can be found here:

https://englishpost.org/travel-conversation-questions/

Here we go!

  1. Have you ever been abroad? NO for either of us. Amanda has been to Ontario, Canada.
  2. How many countries have you visited? See above.
  3. Have you visited many touristic places in your country? Several, ready to see more.
  4. What tourist places do you like to visit? State Parks, Theme parks, etc.
  5. Do you prefer visiting beaches or mountains? We both like both, but after 19 years in the mountains, bring on the beaches!
  6. Have you ever visited a European country? Nope.
  7. Have you ever visited an African country? Nope.
  8. What’s your best vacation memory? C- Disney World, any trip. A- The Atlantic City trip, the journey really was the destination on that one.
  9. What’s your worst vacation memory? C-Driving home during (pre storm) hurricane Irma. A- Early on in our relationship/travels, 2002 or so, coming through WV in fog so dense it was 0 visibility.
  10. What countries would you like to visit? Any!
  11. What countries would you not like to visit? That would depend on their climate at the time (social and political).
  12. What’s the best place for a vacation in your country? That really depends on what you're looking for... The US is massive.
  13. Who do you travel with? Each other, other family members.
  14. Have you made friends while you are on vacation? Kinda, but neither of us is a big people person.
  15. Do you like to travel with children? A- Not random ones, lol. C- Out of the local ones? Yeah, they're good kids.
  16. Do you like to travel with your parents? Loved it! Both our dad's have passed but we all like(d) to travel.
  17. Do you like traveling alone or in a group? Either.
  18. What are some of the benefits of traveling alone? Doing what you want, when you want.

Thanks,
The Outlands

22nd Mon- Crafting Q & A

I again didn't ask you all for any questions, so leave them below for next time!

 Hey Y'all!

Enjoy a short craft tag, and feel free to play along in the comments below.

First I did this craft quiz:

https://www.thequiz.com/arts-and-crafts-quiz/

It was about knowing different crafts and tools.

Results:

Then I did this one, about what my craft should be from HGTV

The results there were kind of surprising!

I've had a garden a few times, but can never grow much, so I haven't had one in years. I blame the clay/soil.

After that I did this one, again about what craft I should try.

I like that they showed the breakdown of everyone's answers, but they didn't include many crafts here.

Lastly, I found these questions on YouTube, but had to modify:

1. Which of your current WIPS are you most looking forward to finishing most? don't have any current work(s) in progress. They're almost impossible to have on the road, lol.

2. Which project are you most excited about starting? Brunilda's name badge, and a few decals about her being old and slow. Just have to start working on the designs and get it going.

3. Are there any new crochet stitches/techniques you would like to try? I'd like to progress beyond scarves, rags, etc.

4. Will you be participating in a craft class this year? I don't have any plans to, but I'm not opposed to the idea.

5. Do you have any craft goals for 2024? Not specifically, other than craft more often.

6. Which projects would you like to see more of? Anything! I love seeing what others come up with.

7. Shout-out a fellow crafter who you are excited to watch? There are a ton of crafters to follow on all social media, I've shared some of my favorites in a previous blog. (Just use the search tab at the top of the page, if you're interested.)

8. Are there any projects that you made in the past that you would like to make again? I really enjoyed doing party décor, I'd like to do more of it.

9. Tag someone: You!

Thanks for putting up with my inability to be on time with the blogs here lately. I can't make any promises next week either, I'm sure radiation will start around then,

Have a great day,

New in the Crafting World

 Hey Y'all!

First , there was no blog Friday, because I received no questions for the ask me anything blog. This is however, mostly my fault, as I didn't post on social media anywhere asking for them.

Sorry,

CWC

Now, on to todays blog topic.

What's new in the crafting world?

Honestly,

Nothing that excites me. I'm sure all our favorite craft brands are working on something new for next quarter, but currently?

I'm not seeing anything that's really new and exciting. AM I missing something? Please clue me in if I am! The latest new things I've seen, aren't really all that new or exciting. Most have been reiterations of things that have been around for years. I'm underwhelmed, and uninspired.

I still can't wait to see what's next though. How about you?

Have a great day,

Birthday Haul, Day With My Mom

 Hey Y'all!

As I mentioned in the previous Birthday Blog (with my sister) my mom and I went out this past Saturday.

The day started around 9:30am, mom & I are early people. We headed out and stopped at Bealls first, mom got herself a cute outfit (which was much needed) and she bought me this sweatshirt:

We then continued in the shopping center over to Rack Room Shoes, Maurice's, and Bath & Bodyworks- where neither of us found anything. From there we drove down to Kohls, Target, Michaels and Ulta. Again, neither of us found anything in Kohls. Mom got some hair color at Target, and we saw my sister's favorite brand of shampoo on sale, so grabbed that as well. At Ulta mom got herself some setting spray, and she bought me the following items. I also found Cricut clearance at Michaels:

Michaels items:
Cricut Joy Card Mat
Cricut Joy Vinyl
Cricut Permanent Vinyl

Ulta items-
They also gave us 3 samples, mom kept the CC cream (unpictured), I kept the scrub, and we gave the facial wash/moisturizer to my sister.

After Ulta we were both hungry, so mom treated me to lunch at Panda Express, their seasonal drinks are good, but they don't allow refills on them which was a bummer. Lunch was good, and after that we headed to another shopping center where we found nothing at T.J. Maxx, but I did get a pair of shorts from Ross for $6!:

Before heading back, we decided to check out one more shoe store. Mom really needed a new pair of sneakers, and I was looking for sandals. We took advantage of the sales, and I ended up picking these:

We then headed back to my sisters house, sat out front for a bit, let Chris eat our leftovers from lunch, and then mom went home. We were dog sitting, so we hung out with the dog a bit then got in the pool, and later watched a movie. It was a very nice day!

Have a great day,

Let's Actually Craft | Making A Card With Cricut Joy

 Hey Y'all!

It's been a long time since I truly crafted something, so I got out the Cricut Joy this past Saturday, and made a card using the joy card mat.

I started by unpacking my Joy stuff, and seeing what I wanted to use. Since I had the most pink bases I decided on that. Because this is a sympathy card for someone who passed with Ovarian Cancer, I chose the teal pen and insert (that's the ribbon color). I think it pairs with the pink well!

Let's get started:
(I chose a free premade card project in Design Space.)

Loading the mat was very easy, you just open the card base and slide it into place.

One of my favorite things about the Joy is that it prompts you at every step of the way.
I loaded the material, then the pen. After it was done drawing, it prompted me to switch to the fine point blade and began the cutting process.
One finished I clicked done, and unloaded the mat.
It really was that simple!

Draw time was about 3min, and cutting time around half that, So it really was a quick and easy card.

Mat loaded and ready to go.

Card ready for insert.

Finished card:

Have you done an insert card before? Share with me on social media!

My Shopping Haul (From A Day Out With My Sister)

 Hey Y'all!

Since I wasn't around for my birthday my sister took me out for the day yesterday. (My mom & I are going out this coming Saturday, let me know if you'd like to see that haul too!)

First we dropped off my niece at color guard practice, then my sister had a doctor's appointment (I watched the bulk of the Little House on the Prairie pilot while waiting in the lobby.)

Once all that was done, we went to the local used book store, and she bought me these:

*She's also ordered book 3 of the Bridgerton series for me, it was cheaper online.

By then we were both hungry, and she treated me to lunch at Blue Moose Burgers. We both really enjoyed our burger and the atmosphere was nice. From there we checked out a few consignment stores before heading to the mall where she had an Ulta return, and we browsed around there before hitting up Forever 21's $5 sale, and I bought these jeans:

After that we left the mall, and headed to T.J. Maxx, where we were disappointed in the makeup section, but I did buy these:

To finish out our day we headed back to her house, and picked up some pizzas.

It was a really good time!
