My planner.. New

I'm new to planning, but am excited to get on the planner bandwagon, especially since fall/winter tends to be our busy time.

I bought my planner at Dollar Tree, in the back to school section in the beginning of August.
The stamps are from Sweet Stamp Shop, inks from VersaInk (I am using chalk inks I got at Tuesday Morning, I've found they don't bleed through.), and the stickers from Disney. (I haven't unearthed the rest of my stickers yet.)

I'd love more planner stamps, and haven't totally gotten things the way I want yet, but so far it's going well.

Have a great day!

It's been a long time.....Life Update

Wow! Has it really been 4 months since I last blogged?? This summer has flown! Let's catch up on what's been going on.

May:
Packing, Closing, & other stuff.
Packing took forever, who knew we had sooo much stuff!
We found out the weekend before closing that we had to replace a section of the deck before closing could happen. Luckily Chris had the time off, and it only cost about $100. It was an aggravation, but we got it done.
The closing (May 29th) went well, and only took about an hour (til about noon). After that we went straight to the house with our first load of stuff, while Chris tried to get some help mom and I painted the two rooms we wanted done and helped Chris unload. We went back to the rental around 7 that night.
The next day we had a little help, and while they were all running back and forth loading and unloading Mom and I did the final coat of paint in both rooms. At 4 we had major help with a F250 and trailer. (Our truck {my dad's old GMC Sonoma} broke down after 1 load. Our other help only had cars, but 2 of those guys stayed and helped 'til almost midnight.) The rest of the weekend was spent running back and forth. We "moved in" on Saturday night.

June:
Still moving, My Birthday, & Indiana.
I think we all seriously underestimated how much we had, and that moving 2 houses was way more than we anticipated. Luckily F250 guy helped everyday after work and Mom and Chris we're on vacation until Wednesday. On Friday we were done,a  few things got left (mostly junk, a glass table {wouldn't fit in car}, some bikes, etc.), but we couldn't handle the back and forth anymore. Mom and Chris went back to work and I started setting up the major rooms (kitchen, bed, bath).
Those were done when they threw my surprise party/housewarming on the 20th.
The next weekend we took our niece to a festival in town as the kick off to their bicentennial, she spent the night and we had a cookout w/ the family the following day.
Late June Chris found out that they actually were getting a shut down for 4th of July week, which has only ever happened once before (and was only 3 days) during his 5 years of employment with them. (Back story: his Mom had called earlier that month to ask if we were coming this year and we told her no we couldn't, he'd used all his vacation to move and other things throughout the year.) So he called his brother and said we're coming (to Indiana), don't tell Mom.

July:
Home, Niece is 5! still getting set up/settled.
We had a great time in Indiana, and came home July 3rd. We had a cookout and fireworks here the 4th. My sister (and family) finally found a house!! They should close by the end of September. (It's taking forever!)
Our niece turned 5~ I can't believe it, she's going to be in Kindergarten! She had a friends and family My Little Pony pool party.
Other than that we've kinda put house stuff/setting up on hold and enjoyed the summer with the family.

August:
Mom is ready to be on her own, more family time, Bristol.
In the beginning of August mom decided she's ready to look for a house, so excited for her!
(She went to an open house and hired that realtor {much to all our hesitation} after looking at several homes and losing one she fired her {yay} and went with the realtor Chris and I used.)
I started organizing some of the house, but really have all winter to get it the way I {we} want it, so again really just spending these last summer moments hanging with the family. Chris' work had their company picnic, and we all went (he won a ton of Tee Shirts). The Bristol Truck races were also in August, and our guy won!
*Mom put an offer in on a house, and it's been accepted Sept 1st, closing is scheduled for Oct 23rd ish.*

My next blog will be Wednesday. (This was supposed to go up on Monday.)
I'm sticking with the M-W-F posting and will share the schedule tomorrow!

Have a great day!

Wednesday~ Life stuff..

As far as the home purchase goes we are still ahead of schedule. Yesterday we got the email (with proof) that they had fixed everything on the list. We are going to ask about closing early, if we can that'd be awesome to get some of the boxes out of the way and get the things we want to fix/change done before we move in.

Our landlord wasn't too happy to lose us as tenants. As of now we need to be moved out by June 1st, to not owe any additional rent, and closing is May 29th. Three days to move is feasible, but of course more would be nice.

Our next steps are setting up the date for turning these utilities off, and getting the new house utilities turned on in our name.

I really hate packing, but so ready to move.

Me today:

Have a great day!

Monday~ 40 Questions (Tag 2)

It's bugging me that the questions and answers end up with odd spacing in the blog, I don't see it in edit mode.

SKINCARE

How many times do you wash your face daily?

Once, in the evening. I know I should in the morning too but whatever.

What skin type do you have? (dry, oily, combo)

I'd say combination. It can be oily and it can be dry.

What is your current facial wash?

 Do you exfoliate?

Yes I do. I tend to do it 2-3 times a week.

What brand do you use?

I use my regular face wash and a battery powered exfoliating face brush.

What moisturizer do you use?

Clean and Clear (This is now discontinued so I'm shopping for a new one.)

Do you have freckles?

Some on my cheeks and nose. I get more during the summer.

Do you use eye cream?

Yes I do. I can't remember the brand, but it's from Dollar Tree.

Do you or did you have acne prone skin?

I've never had bad acne. Just some minor pimples here and there.

Did you ever have to use Pro-activ?

No.

MAKE-UP

What foundation do you use?

How about concealer?

When I do it's also Physicians Formula.

Do you know your undertone color?

Red.

What do you think of fake eyelashes?

They're pretty but I'm too lazy to master applying them.

Did you know that you are supposed to change your mascara every 3 months?

Yes, I try to abide by that but it usually doesn't happen.

What brand of mascara do you use?

Several. Currently I've been starting with PF CC Mascara, then applying a coat of Wet & Wild Mega Volume.

Sephora or MAC?

Neither. (Ulta)

Do you have a MAC Pro-card?

No.

What makeup tools do you use in make up application?

Several, but for me the key is a good eyeliner & good brushes.

Do you use make-up base/primer for the eyes?

Yes, from E.L.F.

For the face?

Also E.L.F.

What is your favorite eyeshadow (color or shade)?

Too many awesome ones to pick a favorite.

Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?

Pencil.

How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?

Very rarely.

What do you think of pigment eye shadows?

They are nice.

Do you use mineral makeup?

Sometimes.

What is your favorite lipstick?

The whole nude collection from L'Oreal (Collection Privee)

How about lipgloss?

Any/all.

What is your favorite blush to use?

I don't use blush.

Do you buy your makeup on ebay?

I have before.

Do you like drugstore makeup?

Most of it.

Do you go to CCO's? (cosmetic company outlets)

I have before, but now there are none near where we live.

Did you ever consider taking make-up classes?

Not beyond Cosmetology school.

Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?

Not generally.

Name a makeup crime that you hate?

An orange face. So not pretty.

Do you like colorful shades of makeup (lipstick, eyeshadow) or neutral ones?

I like both. Color is fun, but neutrals always work and are far easier to apply in a hurry.

Which celebrity always has great make up?

Meh. We all have off days.

-f you could leave the house using just ONE make up item, what would you use?

Eyeliner.

Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?

Yes.

Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?

I think I look ok.

In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line?

No clue. I know what I like, and what I'm willing to spend. That may be totally different for someone else.

What do you think of Makeup??

FUN!!

Have a great day!

Friday... Not really crafty, more Interior Design

Packing is still no fun, in case you were wondering. The last time we moved was 4yrs ago and I'm having a hard time remembering how long that took me. Plus I feel overwhelmed, this house is probably twice as big as our last rental, and we've accumulated a lot of "stuff" in the past 4yrs.

To avoid packing I've been dreaming of how I want to decorate our HOME.
The house was built in 1970, and still has the 70's ish kitchen and I want to embrace it.

I really like these:
Place mats
Place mats

I plan to use those colors throughout the kitchen, and will probably make my own curtains.. I probably have fabric now that will work.

The bathroom is also 70s ish and we don't have the money to do any major renovation, so for now it'll stay like this (that curtain is coming down though):

The flooring is much prettier in person, and other than sticking with a nature type theme (already have the green and browns in the room) I have no idea. I also currently have yellow towels, toothbrush holder and trash can. Maybe I should just do greens and yellows? Then all I need is a pretty towel with both colors and a soap dispenser.

The living room has this accent wall that I'm not sure what I'm doing with (keep or paint) and our current sectional sofa is a tan color and we have a black entertainment center. I plan to possibly paint the entertainment center white this fall, but haven't decided yet.

The current LR:

Mom is free to do whatever she wants in her (450+ sq ft) space, she said she's not painting, but hasn't decided on flooring (it's currently painted concrete except the bath, which is tile).

The 3 bedrooms upstairs are all a blank canvas, currently the master and my office are white, and hubby's office is paneling like the kitchen.

We will probably keep the master white, as well as leave his office as is (other than curtains). I plan to paint my office, but havent decided on a color.

The shutters are currently red, and I hate them. We cant decided between a plum-y color or vivid green, or possibly something else entirely..

Any and all suggestions are welcome!

Have a great day!
