Dollar Tree Craft Products (Update on DT Vinyl)

 Hey Y'all!

I've been loving the Dollar Tree's Crafters Square section, and they're always coming out with something new. (I hate the $3 and $5 sections, but that's another story.)

Here's a few of my favorites from each category:

Paint~

Pencil and Brush Holder- I like this for pens, markers, and brushes. I have a second one in my bathroom for dirty makeup brushes.

Paint Sponge Dabbers- These work especially well when stenciling.

Wood & Metal Crafts~

This is probably my second favorite section, after vinyl. I love all the sign making options.

Wood Vertical Wall Decor- I like the seasonal ones, but I prefer the "plain" wood to finish it in whatever theme I choose. These are so easy to paint, usually just one coat. They're thin so they can hang easily, just about anywhere.

House Shaped Writing Boards- I think these are cute for little menu boards, Wi-Fi password, etc.

Crafting Basics~

Y'all already know from this review: http://craftinwifescreations.blogspot.com/2022/04/dollar-treecrafters-square-cricut-items.html

I especially love that rotary cutter, and weeding tool.

Those are the main sections I shop, but the aisle is full of other supplies like yarn, stickers, beads, thread, etc.

The vinyl update:

I've used it a few more times, overall it does well with larger cuts. I didn't attempt anything intricate, as I was already warned in the FB Group that that was a no. Everything I've adhered it to seems to be holding up well, especially my Ott Light.

I would love to try the leather, but really don't want a whole case. My store(s) are slow to get items, so hopefully I'll see it soon.

Have you checked out the Dollar Tree crafting section yet? What items are your favorites? Which were duds for you? Let me know in the comments below!

Have a great day,

 Hey Y'all!

I'm excited to see your answers to this weeks Fun Friday post:

I'd love to start heading west in my travels, I eventually want to see the "lower 48". The closest state I haven't been to is either MO, or MS.

I just had my check up and she is calling me officially 2 years N.E.D./ Cancer Free/Remission. I have graduated to quarterly checkups! YAY!

I've been working on orders, and getting thigs ready for the next craft show May 28th.

I didn't bother with blogging it but I did the seasonal flip with our clothing, and cleaned out the closet. I even found another bin of winter clothes, but that seemed like something Fall me gets to deal with. As it was it took me several hours.

We are working on organizing the basement and re-doing the whole thing, as well as painting & redecorating the upstairs bath.

Hubby is busy with work, his eBay store, and his game (he is aiming for a June release on android, with iOS to follow).

We've started making summer plans, but other than the concert in Columbus later this month nothing is concrete.

My 40th Birthday is coming up June 19th, but I'll post more about that later.

Do you have summer plans yet? What are they? Let me know in the comments below!

Have a great day,

These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things... (Beauty)

 Hey Y'all!

I've broken this up into four categories; Makeup, Hair, Skin, & Nails! These are my current favorites in each category, most items are linked if still available.

Here's a link to the previous Favorites blog:

http://craftinwifescreations.blogspot.com/2022/01/current-favorites-fails-beauty.html

I do feel the same about all of these products.

My makeup collection (as of March 2022):

http://craftinwifescreations.blogspot.com/2022/03/my-makeup-collection-part-2-of-2.html

My Current Favorites~

Makeup:

Face- Flower Erase Everything Foundation in UF1. It's like a primer, but better. Like a foundation, but no shade matching required. Walmart says out of stock, and it's not available elsewhere. I was able to find it on the other beauty websites, and places like posh, mercari, etc.

Eyes-

Y'all already know. Wet 'n Wild Big Poppa Mascara is my #1 drug store mascara. It lifts, lengthens, darkens, and curls my lashes well. Plus it lasts all day!

Lips-

IF you've seen my collection you know I have a ton of lip products, and I constantly look at what's new. Here lately I've been really loving nude, and drift towards this formula & shade the most... Dose of Colors Liquid Matte Lipstick in Nude Mood. It's the perfect pinky nude for what I'm currently liking. It dries down nicely and isn't sticky, or slippery.

*It's the only pic the website would let me save.*

Travel Product-
I love I.B.Y. Beauty, and enjoy all the products from them I've tried. If you decide to shop the brand use code CraftinWife25 at checkout for 25% off! For travel I like the Carry On Face Palette. It has an eyeshadow palette side, and a face quad side featuring blush, bronzer, and highlight. I plan on taking this on our upcoming overnight trip, with the previously mentioned favorites, and that's it for makeup. (We're going to a concert.)

Hair~
I still haven't decided what I'm doing with my hair (grow, cut -medium, or short). Currently it's at a length where it will almost all go into a ponytail! Styling, and shampoo/conditioner wise I'm not really using anything new... I'm not sure what products I need now. It's less wavy and way way thicker than it used to be. Any of the thick haired people have suggestions? Please share in the comments below.

Currently I'm using  all the things (styling wise), until I find something I love.
Also, which style brush should I be using? HELP!

Skin~
Y'all Influenster has been spoiling me with luxury products and I'm loving them all! Currently I'm using Charlotte Tilbury  Charlotte's Magic Cream, and it's fantastic. My skin is more hydrated, brighter, and feels firmer after use.

 Nails~
I just did a Nail Polish Collection blog, and rediscovered Fresh Paint Nail Lacquer. Apparently it's available at Five Below, but I don't recall where I got mine from (in the shade Honeydew) and they only appear to have one shade, sold out. So, it looks like I better enjoy that bottle, as it seems near impossible to find. I liked it because the color was vibrant and it held up for TWO WEEKS!

I couldn't find a picture online that wasn't from another persons blog, or pre 2018.

What are your current favorites? Please share below, or tag me in a social media post!

Have a great day,

How-To, Layered Decal w/ Cricut

 Hey Y'all!

Today we're going to do a layered decal with image #M1A6B8FA from Cricut Design Space, which is Cricut's free design software.

There are several design programs, and if you'd like me to go over them in a future blog let me know in the comments below!

Supplies:

Cricut (I used my Explore One for this, I typically only use the Air 2 for stickers, or anything drawn, like tags for SMHC, etc.)

Green Standard Grip Cricut Mat (One came with my machine, but I've since had to replace them. The Air 2 came with a Light Grip Mat.)

Oracal651 Vinyl (Lavender, King Blue, Ice Blue, Turquoise, & Gold)

Transfer Tape (I've chosen a well used piece of Cricut Standard Grip Transfer Tape for this project.)

Envelope, mine is 5.25in x 5.25in.. but any blank will do just adjust your decal size accordingly.

Weeding Tool, my current favorite is from the Dollar Tree in the Crafter's Square section.

Scissors (Y'all know I love these fiskars!)

Scraper Tool  (I did use the DT one here, but really have no preference.)

Brayer (Not necessary, but it helps to adhere the vinyl to the mat. Mine is Speedball brand, and I picked it up at a yard sale for cheap.)

The Layering process begins at 7:41:

After I found the image I was going to use for today, I chose the vinyl colors I wanted to use from my larger scraps.

Next I began the cutting process with each color/layer.

Here's the image in colors closer to the ones I chose. I like to refer back to my screen for layering in the correct order, and for placement.

I choose to attach the like colors in Design Space, it does use up more vinyl, but it makes layering so much easier. (And I have plenty of vinyl!) I then weeded each color.

I laid it all out, and decided which order I should go in, from bottom to top.
As you can see in the video I start with the bird since it's the largest, and built up from there. I should have measured first, because when I got to the last layer the "Aloha" had to go at the bottom because I ran out of room. That's what I get for eyeballing it & rushing, lol.

I used the image on screen as my guide, and decided to place the branch and beak next, because for me it looked like everything else built up and out from there.
I then layered the leaves, starting with the light blue, then the dark. The flower fit perfectly in the gap left for it.
I actually really like "Aloha" at the bottom as well, and was able to place it there with ease by not letting the transfer tape fall down. I did mumble an expiative to myself when I tore the A, but it's not even noticeable in the end.

I should note I used a very well loved piece of transfer tape, so it was just sticky enough to pick the vinyl up, but not so much as to stick to the paper envelope I was putting the decal on.
After the fact I did reposition that last dark blue leaf to sit in the proper spot and not so much under the flower petal.

What colors would you have picked? Let me know in the comments below!

Have a great day,

200 Get To Know Me Questions (151-175) & Fun Friday!

 Hey Y'all!

Welcome to the next installment of the get to know me questions found here: https://www.womenshealthmag.com/life/a22500573/questions-to-ask-to-get-to-know-someone/

https://craftinwifescreations.blogspot.com/2022/04/200-get-to-know-me-questions-126-150.html

Let's see what today's questions are~

151. Do you believe in love at first sight? No.

152. How do you show kindness to others? This is very situational, but in general a smile and a kind word goes a long way.

153. Do you believe in soulmates? Why or why not? Not really, I believe there's probably someone out there just as suited for you as your significant other. Not to say you aren't/can't be absolutely happy in this (current) relationship, but to say that each person only has 1 soulmate? That's just sad to me. What if you hate to travel, and your soulmate lives in the mountains of Peru...

154. What do you look for in a friendship? Fun, loyal, honest, caring.

155. How do your daily priorities reflect your overall values in life? Huh? My daily priorities are getting shit done, my values are simple- don't hurt others unnecessarily.

156. Do you believe time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time? Absolutely. Also it is a need to rest/relax/chill.

157. What life lessons have you had to learn the hard way? IDK

158. Do you believe what is meant for you will never miss you? Nope. I don't believe in the whole it was meant to happen for a reason BS. As for meant to be... eh IDK seems our own freewill would get in the way of that far more often than not.

159. Have you ever experienced true love, and how did you know? Yep. When you know, you just know. It's hard to explain.

“How do you spell 'love'?" - Piglet. "You don't spell it...you feel it." - Pooh”

160. What’s a relationship deal breaker for you? Cheating.

161. If you had only one sense (hearing, touch, sight, etc.), which would you want? Sight.

162. Do you volunteer at all? Not currently.

163. What makes you feel at peace? Chillin at home w/ Hubby.

164. What are you most proud of in the last year? Getting my products into a local boutique, and now MAKING SALES!

165. What makes you feel most accomplished? Meeting goals.

166. Who do you admire most in the world? IDK, Family I suppose.

167. Would you rather make more money doing a job you hate or less doing one you love? Less, by far. Work is 40hrs a week give or take, there are 168 hrs in that week... To spend a quarter of your time doing something you hate? No thanks.

168. Which of your personality traits are you most proud of? Creative. I couldn't be who I am or do what I do without it.

169. What’s the first thing you look for in a partner and/or friend? We've answered this before.

170. How has your perspective on the world changed over time? The world is fine, it's the people in it that are problematic, LOL.

171. Do you live by any piece of advice or motto? Nope.

172. How can someone earn your trust? Be trustworthy.

173. How can someone lose your trust? Lie, cheat, etc.

174. Would you rather someone be honest and hurt your feelings or lie to protect them? That really depends on the situation. Is it something I NEED to know, Does it directly affect me negatively, then maybe tell me, otherwise don't.

175. If you could snap your fingers and instantly make the world better, what would you do? Feed the hungry. No one should want for food. Especially with the amount of abundance we throw away in this country.

FUN FRIDAY:

I'd probably change mine to my Mom's pick from when she was pregnant with me~ Mia Denise.

Have a great day,
