Pinterest Inspired~ Where we're from Map/Framed

My Version.
Supplies!
Slice Design Card: Travel USA.
Colorbok Paper.
Lining up for the cuts.
Sizing the paper to frame.
Stamps!
Ohio.
Tennessee.
North Carolina.
This Pinterest Inspired craft comes from my spin on two different, but similar pins:
Where we're from.
Met, married, live.

Since hubby and I are from two different states, and live in a third (for the past 10yrs) I thought the idea of combining these pins seemed appropriate.

Using an old atlas & my Slice die cut machine, I cut out our states shapes from the corresponding state map. (You could use hearts, or people like the pins, or any other shape would also work.)
Then I chose a background paper, and adhered each state to the paper using my ATG. Next I stamped the "you, me, and love" on the background. (I don't have an "Us" stamp!!?!) Lastly I slid each one into frames I got from the thrift store, putting our current home state in the gold frame.

This would also be cute adapted for a family whose kids were born in different states/countries.

In total this took me about an hour if I take off the time for technical issues with the Slice. (The map paper was too thin and it wanted to tear rather than cut, then needed a blade replacement.)

(Would you like to see a cost breakdown of these crafty posts?)
All the supplies for this particular craft I already had.
I did purchase the atlas for this specific reason a few weeks ago, for $1.00.but only used 6 (front and back side since I cut through the maps) of the 138 pages, broken down that equals 5cents!
The paper pad I bought on clearance for $1.00 it contains 50 sheets, I used two. So cost breakdown on that is 4 cents.
Obviously I used other supplies, but the cost breakdown from them is equal or less than the above.
Awesome!

This is the last blog for August. My next blog will be September's Monthly Schedule on Monday, the 1st.

Kids Corner~ Cuff Bracelets

For this Kids Corner we made T.P. Cuff Bracelets. They are even easier to make than it sounds!

Supplies:
T.P. roll
Scissors
Paper (from scrap stash)
ATG
Stickers (From left overs/scraps)
Optional~ Hole punch, twine

An adult should probably do this part. I didn't bother measuring, just cut each section to desired width.

Cut the seam to make a cuff bracelet.

Various sizes.

The papers we chose (from scraps).

Tape Glider.

Sticky side up!

Adhering to the paper.

Trim off excess paper.

Since these were for little wrists I decided to add some holes & twine.

Getting it ready.

All strung up.

Stickers!

First completed bracelet.

Sticky side up for #2.

OOOOO Shiny.

Double holes.

More stickers!

Zig Zag!
This was a really simple craft to do, and other than the twine it was all from my scraps. We had fun, and that's really what Kids Corner is about!

My next blog will be Friday, the 29th, and is a Pinterest Inspired map themed craft.

Have a great day!

Create a Card~ Happy Camper

This Create a Card is also for a challenge I am a part of on Facebook (Stampin & Taggin Place) to use die cuts on the card. I used my Slice machine for all the die cuts on this card.

Materials Used:
Studio G Cardstock base in cream. Post its (to mark off a section).

We R Memory Keepers Sweetheart Inkers in Brown, Green, Blue, & Aqua.

Studio Calico Here & There Collection 6x6 paper pad (2012).

Paper (above). Scotch Advanced Tape Glider (aka ATG Gun).

Slice & The Great Outdoors Design Card.

Travel USA Design Card.

Xyron 3in Sticker Maker & (not pictured) Xyron 1.5in Sticker Maker.

Michaels Clear Rhinestones.
Links to available products:
Sweetheart Inker
Paper pad (not exact)
Advanced Tape Glider
Slice & accessories
Xyron
Michaels Bling

Lets get started!

Sectioning off where I want to apply the Sweetheart Inkers.

Layering the inks.

Removal of the post its, Inking is done. I only let each color dry for a few seconds, and didn't have any problems with color transfer.

Inside the card, inking and paper added.

Die cutting with the Slice.

More Slice cuts.

Deciding on placement and adhering the die cut. (Also pictured the 1.5in Xyron.)

Die cut tree, inked it up as well.

Another die cut, adhered inside the card. Finished inside.

Final placement of everything, added a camper die cut, inked up the wheel.

Finished!!
I had a lot of fun with this card. I hadn't used my Slice in a while & it was nice to rediscover some of the things it can do. This was also the first time I'd used the Sweetheart Inkers, I'm impressed with those so far.

My next blog will be Saturday, the 23rd. It's my Beauty & Craft Monthly Favorites blog! I have lots to share!

Have a great day!
