My Christmas Stamps & Coloring an Image with Markers

 Hey Y'all!

I want to start off by saying I do not like how either of these coloring jobs turned out. I also don't want to waste them, so I'm going to turn them into gift tags for the kids (they couldn't care less what it looks like).

First up is my Christmas stamp collection:

I don't know when I'm going to get Christmas Cards done, but I do enjoy making them.

Coloring:

I purposely only used 4 markers for each image, 2 red and 2 green, but I shouldn't have limited myself so much. Then I decided the "chrome" of the station wagon would look good with the metallic markers, but they were far too thick. It's a hot mess, but enjoy below.

I think the stamp issue is user error, I don't believe I inked it up quite enough.

Copic markers, and Spectrum Basics.

This is where things start to go south. The Copic wide markers were a poor choice to begin with, and the reds were far to close in color to create any sort of difference in the image.

Another poor choice with the Spectrum markers. The Burgundy is more rusty colored than a true burgundy (or the cap).  The green combo is too light and that poor tree looks dried out.

This one is the Copic image, and where I got the bright idea to add the metallic markers. I should have used pens here instead, although by this point they're so ugly it doesn't matter, lol.
Lesson #1 Don't limit the color options so much.

The Spectrum Basics image. Lesson #2 Test the colors before coloring. That burgundy is not complimentary, and I started using it on the rear of the car and had to take it somewhere. Like I stated above, this little tree is just sad.

I was in a hurry to get these colored and this blog up, and you can tell. Beyond the color choices I made the marker tips I used were a bit too chunky. Lesson #3 Take your time.

Everything above aside, I really do like both marker brands fairly equally (not the metallic ones by MaxPen, they are too thick for most images I'd want to use them for). I will say however, that across the board Spectrum markers actual color vs. cap color differs more often than not.

I had a few people ask what forms of payment I took if they wanted to place an order outside of etsy, so I though I'd add that here as well.
I have: paypal, cashapp, facebook pay and venmo.

I'll do better next time!

Have a great day,
Craftin' Wife
