200 Get To Know Me Questions (101-125)

 Hey Y'all!

It's been awhile since I've done one of these. As a reminder I'm working my way through the questions found here:  https://www.womenshealthmag.com/life/a22500573/questions-to-ask-to-get-to-know-someone/

I don't look at any of these questions beforehand. When I chose to do these last year I skimmed the webpage, and picked this set because it seemed like there was a good variety of questions.

Here we go!

101. How much time do you spend with your family? Not enough, we try to get together at least once or twice a month for my immediate family. We try to visit hubby's at least once a year.

102. Who do you most like spending time with and why? Each person is fun, and unique.

103. Which family member makes the best food? Either Mom. Hands down. (Marcas is a very close 2nd.)

104. How has your opinion of your family changed over the years? I think I didn't realize growing up how shit some people were (not my immediate family).

105. If you’re close with your family, what’s the hardest part about spending time away from them? I'm not that close, we're all grown and got other stuff going on too. For Hubby's side it's hard not being there often enough to really see the kids growing up.

106. Do you wish you had a bigger family, or are you happy with its current size? More sisters, and some brothers may have been nice, but it's not like I wished for more growing up. Outside of our little unit the family is pretty big. Hubby's family is a good size too!

107. Which family member has had the greatest impact on you? I won't name names, but I saw how one family member had absolutely nothing their entire life, do to mistakes/choices of their own making, I knew that was not a road I even wanted to try.

108. What does your family’s last name mean? (Look it up if you don’t know!) Maiden name~ 1 archaic : merchant, trader. 2 British : peddler.

Married name~ remote or distant territory.

109. Who’s the best gift-giver in your family? It was Dad.

110. What’s your favorite story about your grandparents? This is going to sound so sad, but on my Dad's side they really weren't "together" people. I have memories/stories I love of them separately, but other than Holidays and family get togethers they didn't do anything together. (They lived 30min or less from us 'til I was 8, then it was still only an hour.)

My Mom's parents split up way before I was born, and though I don't know much of the story I know enough, and never met the man. Love Granny though, we'd visit her yearly since she lived a state away.

111. Have you ever mapped out your family tree? I tried in the early days of all those ancestry websites, never got far though.

112. Were you close with your family growing up? My immediate family yeah. Dad's side growing up, I'd say yeah. Mom's side kinda, they all lived in another state for the most part.

113. How do you define your family now? IDK, spread out.

114. What traits are most important to you in your family members? This question is odd.

115. Who in your family makes you feel the safest? Mom.

116. Do you want a family of your own? Nope.

117. Have you ever been to a family reunion? To my knowledge we don't do those... that or I'm not invited LOL.

118. If you could change your relationship with a family member, would you? If so, with whom? Naw, I'm good.

119. What was it like growing up as the youngest/oldest/middle/only child? Oldest. There were only 2 of us, so it was fine. I imagine in a large family it'd suck being the built in babysitter.

120. Does your family ever take trips together? Yep. We did then, and still do.

121. What’s your favorite family memory? The goat on Christmas Morning.

Long story short:

Sis and I woke up to a goat on the front porch on Christmas morning, we did not ask Santa for a goat. We woke Dad, and he didn't believe us. Said it must be a large dog or something. It was a goat. He spent the next week looking for the goat's home. No one claimed her. We got a goat for Christmas. Sis named her Missy. She'd play with us, chase the dogs and eat the trees.

122. What TV family most reminds you of your own? None...

123. Do you ever wish you were raised differently? I mean sure, but then I wouldn't be who I am.

124. What’s the best piece of advice a family member has given you? YOLO.

125. Do you wish you had more siblings? If so, why? You done did ask this.

That's it!

Have a great day,

Craftin'Wife
