How'd the Craft Show Go?

 Hey Y'all!

How crazy was last week? I didn't think prep would take until Thursday!

I had a lot of fun doing the show though, and the weather held up nicely (it was an outdoor event).

I learned some things, and what I want, and don't need to bring for future events.

Being Easter weekend I wasn't sure how this show would go, I figured if slow then that was fine for my first show, and if not great for business!

Friday started out COLD, and slow. I made a few sales, and then it really died down around lunch time. It also started to really get hot about that time. It never really picked back up, so we packed up around 2pm.

Because Friday was so very slow I was worried about Saturday being worse, especially with a cooler, cloudy day, and all the Easter events happening. Thankfully it was a very busy day, and I made several sales, and a few good connections locally. We were planning to stay all day since it was going so well for me, but about half the vendors started packing up around 2, we held out until 3pm, but with a mostly empty field it didn't make sense to stay.

(The event was 9-5 both days.)

I did notice the vendors closest to me didn't do as well Saturday, they did much better Friday morning. I think it was just who was buying, when, and what they were looking for. I'm glad we all did well this past weekend.

Going forward I want to get a canopy for shade, I did wear sunscreen and long sleeves, but still got a bit of sun on Friday. (Hubby got A LOT of sun, especially his arms.) I don't feel, for this event, that I forgot to bring anything that was essential. I actually didn't need the bags I made a special trip for, as everyone opted out of a bag, however I think different events this would change. I didn't need order forms with me, as people chose business cards instead. As I do more events I'm sure the list will grow, and change.

Overall I think the host, Tracy, did a great job, and would gladly attend another event by her. Huge shout out to East End Lanes for allowing the event space.

Have you ever done an event (not specifically craft related)? How was it? Any tips? Share in the comments below!

Have a great day,
