New Makeup I'm Not Buying...

 Hey Y'all!

Now's the time of year everyone starts releasing "new" stuff like mad. I think in the past few years they've started to realize Halloween is a profitable time, and Holiday shopping starts early.

Do you have a favorite new collection? Share in the comments below!

A good blog for upcoming items:

https://www.temptalia.com/category/latest-collections/

Instagram Account for new release info:

https://www.instagram.com/trendmood1/?hl=en

Onto the new products I've come across & am NOT buying!

1) https://www.smashbox.com/halloween

Smashbox Masters of Horror Cream Shadow

I like the artwork, and the theme. But I think the price is a bit high, and even if I was into cream shadow some of these colors aren't very wearable (for me).

2) No link, releases 9/29.
Pleasing x Harry Styles x Marco Rubio

The packaging is a huge waste of space, and I just don't "get" the line. Also not a H.S. fan, so there's that.

Urban Decan Naked x Robin Eisenberg
First off I have no idea who this is. I do like the look of the palette, but I though the point of the "Naked" line was that they were muted colors/nude. Nude = Naked. I don't think UD knows their focus, or understands their own brand anymore.

Urban Decay She Hulk

I know I shit on UD a lot, but this is why... There is no way the model (artist) got this eye look using this palette. I am happy to see them doing something different though, so I'll give them points there.

Nars Holiday Collection
There's a lot of SSDD here. The palette is a bit heavy on the shimmers, and anyone who wanted that blush (orgasm) has it, and has had it for the past decade.

Rapid fire 5 more:

6) GlamLite Barbie Collection. I've never seen anything from GlamLite be good quality.

7) Patrick TA Blush Palette. Too rich for my blood. The glosses look real yuck for my skin.

8) Makeup Revolution Holiday Collection. Even if the brand weren't very hit & miss for me they're all nude & pink. No thanks! (However IF that green is pigmented, it's pretty. Just too big a gamble, and I have greens.)

9) Barker Wellness (Travis Barker) Anything. Can we say cash grab? HAHAHA no.

10) HipDot Care Bear Eyecon. WTF?! These are just silly.

Bonus:

11)  Trixie Cosmetics Girl Talk Collection. I remember this game, my sister, cousins, and I played it quite a bit in the 90s. But this collection looks cheap/poor quality. I'm not loving the design, it's like they couldn't decided between 80s, 90s, and early 2000. (Out of those tween girl games we played Heartthrob way more than Girl Talk anyhow, lol.)

Heartthrob:

Classic early 90s "Girl" game. We really liked to make fun of the guys, more than choose a BF.

What's a game you played as a kid, that you'd like to see a makeup collection for? Let me know in the comment section!

How- To Stencil with Cricut...

 Hey Y'all!

I can't believe I forgot I'd done this one already! It wasn't even that long ago.

http://craftinwifescreations.blogspot.com/2022/03/how-to-create-stencil-with-cricut.html

If you'd like written instructions, and a pictograph (from another project) keep reading!

Supply List:

Cardstock,  this happens to be DCWV

Cricut

Glow in the Dark paint from Folk Art

Paint Sponge from Dollar Tree

Tape (to hold stencil in place... I used a magic eraser, because it was such a small design, and I forgot the tape)

Paint Mixing Palette (I can't remember where mine is from.)

How-To~

Step One:

Choose your materials.

This time I'm just cutting a basic shape, so I'm cutting my stencil out of paper.

I'm going to paint a mermaid somewhere in the bathroom, not 100% sure on placement.. but I'll know by the end of this blog...

Step Two:

Pick your design.

I just wanted something simple, and chose this mermaid:

Step Three:
Size your design to fit the items/area you're placing the stencil.

Step Four:

Load your material onto your mat. Make adjustments as needed. (For example I moved mine down and in, away from the paper edges.)

Step Five:

Unload, and weed your design. Remember you want to remove the positive, and leave behind the negative pieces. (Opposite of weeding a typical design.)

Step Six:

Place your stencil down, tape it in place, and paint. I find a sponge is easier, and tends not to leak/have paint seep through as much as a brush does.

Step Seven:
Paint, then remove stencil. If you had a more intricate design, or used several colors, I'd let the paint dry a bit first.
I did miss a bit of her hand, but this is over the sink,  and we're repainting this tan/brown to a blue shade next month, so it didn't really matter.

Step Eight:
Clean Up! I tend to just use a stencil once, but this one I could have used a few times. Vinyl is pretty much one and done. They do have other materials that you could use, and reuse your stencils with. (It's literally called stencil material.)

Books! What I'm Reading

 Hey Y'all!

Guess what I've been reading?

…Nothing!

Ok, that's a lie. I've read a few magazines, and I am still reading the Idiot's guide from the previous blog.

I tried to get into this book. The story does seem like it's something I'd be interested in. However, I picked it up and put it down no less than three times, and I think I'm still only in chapter 2, or 3. So, I give up, and I'm moving on to a new book.

I'm mostly skimming through this as I'm doing my digital marketing classes. It has some useful information, but a lot doesn't pertain to me. (Like the section on how to choose a business, or the franchise option sections.)

As for what I'm going to pick next, I'm not sure... It's spooky season so maybe a horror/thriller. I have a ton of books I've yet to read.

Any suggestions? Let me know in the comments below!

Current Beauty Favorites!

 Hey Y'all!

Is it just me, or does all the new stuff seem very SSDD (Same Shit Different Day) or in this case, different packaging?

That's not to say I don't think some of it looks super cute, it's just not anything new and innovative. I would still add a few items to my wishlist. Like the newest Hocus Pocus Collection, or the Beetlejuice products...

As far as my current favorites, I've mentioned them all before!

I should tell you about I.B.Y. Beauty's current sale:

*Discount applied at checkout.

I have several of the highlight's, blushes, and quite a few eyeshadow palettes. I really like all of them!

I've talked about my favorite mascara (Wet 'n Wild Big Poppa, or Stila Huge Extreme Lash), and y'all know of my Dior love, as well as my Shiseido sunscreen.
I don't have a favorite powder, lipstick, bronzer, etc...

Class Prep, Show Prep...

 Hey Y'all!

Class Prep:

I've not been informed that I've sold any tickets to my class, if so I haven't prepared anyone's address letters. I'll message her Wednesday morning to make sure.

Show prep:

It's hard to judge how much to prep for these show, the last few were much smaller than this one is advertised to be.

I do have all the previous items that are unsold, minus the kids shirts (I added them in the store). I have added some photo frames, and plan to do some Fall/Halloween shirts, and possibly some tote bags tomorrow.

These turned out super cute!

FOOTBALL TIME!

I'll think about more if time & space allows!

Clean With Me: Bathroom Closet

 Hey Y'all!

I don't know why I thought I'd be able to film this in such a small space, but that was my original plan. Virtually impossible considering the bathroom closet is behind the door to the room, and across from the tub, with about 2ft of floor space...

So instead here's a small before and after. I still need to refold the towels...

The attic access is through the closet as well, the shelves split in half and fold up to make steps. It's an interesting design.

The bottom of the closet space is actually the head space for going down the steps. (It's a split foyer home.)

Before:

After:

Slight revision, to add my personal hair color supplies:
(The teal towel and wash cloth should be with the camping stuff, but they got put here, & I've left them since we plan to go camping again soon anyhow.)

Empties!!

 Hey Y'all!

It took a while to get enough products to do a decent empties post. I'm 99% sure I've accidently thrown several away, but I don't remember what at this point, other than a fragrance sample or 2.

Previous Empties Blogs:

http://craftinwifescreations.blogspot.com/2022/02/januaryfebruary-empties.html

http://craftinwifescreations.blogspot.com/2022/05/recent-empties.html

This time it's all hair & skincare items.

Here's the empties & my thoughts:

1) Exuviance Peel~ I received mine through Influenster (along with a sunscreen I'm still using). I really liked the products, and they did make a noticeable difference, I just can't see myself paying $80+USD for this. (I like the sunscreen even more, but individually it's also $80+.)

2) Aveeno Fresh Greens Blend Shampoo~ For my hair at the time (during & immediately after chemo) this worked great. I loved it enough to finish it, and it still did well, but it's just not the right shampoo for my current hair.

3) Shiseido Sunscreen~ Y'all know I loved this. I've raved about it a few times. I will buy again for next Spring/Summer. (I think I have enough face sunscreens to get me through until then.)

4) Bath & Body Works Strawberry Pound Cake~ I liked this, and it lasted FOREVER, I'm glad to be trying something new.

5) Blossom Dry Shampoo~ (Dollar Tree, no link) This was okay, it was rather white cast, but brushed out pretty well. I hardly ever use dry shampoo, but needed this for traveling. I wasn't a fan of the scent, it was a bit strong. In a pinch I'd use it again, but there are far better products out there.

6) A07 Deep Moisture Cream~ I don't know if this exists (in the States) anymore, the only place I could find it was ebay. I got mine through Birchbox. It was nice, but is apparently unavailable so...

7) Herbal Essences Argan Oil Shampoo (almost finished the matching conditioner)~ I swap conditioning products so I never finish a Shampoo & Conditioner at the same time.  This has been a decent shampoo, but wasn't working great for my current hair.

8) Head & Shoulders Supreme Nourish & Smooth Set~ This was a travel set that Hubby & I both used. I liked the tingly coolness when it was super hot while camping lol. My hair did seem smoother, but that was also in different water, so hard to say how much the shampoo/conditioner contributed.

I have sooooo many products that are close to empty, so the next empties blog should be a big mix of items!

Have a great day,

New Items & What I'm Working On

 Hey Y'all!

I've got a lot going on this month!

I think I've mentioned before I'm hosting a class at the store (Sept 22nd), so I've been preparing for that:

The craft fair is just a few days later, and I'm working on ideas for it. This will be my first Fall Event so I'm a bit unsure how much themed merchandise I should be taking for that.
So far I've come up with these:
I plan to add something along the lines of "Cutest Pumpkin in the Patch", "Ghouls Trip" or other Fall/Halloween themed phrase to each.

I also plan to take the paper out and add a themed scrapbook paper backer instead.

This one is a color shift glaze (it says red, purple, blue, but I see purple, blue).

I have two in this green with yellow shift paint. It looks better in person.

I've done several shows here, and they've all been very small, however this one has more "stuff" going on, and has had more advertisement, so I'd like to take additional product with me too.

I share a lot of what I'm working on on TikTok:
I've shared the glow in the dark shirts, fall vibes flocked shirts, glass cutting boards, & fall tote bags recently.

 Currently:

New products, new store set up.

New Online Items?

I finally have a few items on SMHC website:

I'll have to talk with Anita, I had these in a category under my name (that existed already on the website, I didn't mess with the settings she had premade), she said to just have them under the tee shirt category, and she edited them as such. However now they're near impossible to find, a tee shirt category doesn't come up on its own, and the items don't show up under Craftin' Wife's Creations on the website.

Go Imagine:
Work in progress, I have hidden most of the Summer themed items, but haven't started adding Fall yet.

Facebook:
Just a few items listed here, I've noticed most people that do shop via FB just message me directly.

Etsy:
I give this very little to no attention, and am just shy of closing it altogether. The fees are higher, and competing with drop shippers and all the NON Handmade items/sellers is becoming to much to bother with.
I currently have one listing.
