Hey Y'all!
Can you believe it's October already!
My passions lie in the beauty industry (since 1998) & the Craft industry (since childhood, but truly re-ignited in 2010). Beauty & Craft inspiration, product reviews, and how-to's, as well as general life stuff..
Hey Y'all!
Can you believe it's October already!
Hey Y'all!
Now's the time of year everyone starts releasing "new" stuff like mad. I think in the past few years they've started to realize Halloween is a profitable time, and Holiday shopping starts early.

Smashbox Masters of Horror Cream Shadow
I like the artwork, and the theme. But I think the price is a bit high, and even if I was into cream shadow some of these colors aren't very wearable (for me).Heartthrob:
Classic early 90s "Girl" game. We really liked to make fun of the guys, more than choose a BF.Hey Y'all!
I can't believe I forgot I'd done this one already! It wasn't even that long ago.

If you'd like written instructions, and a pictograph (from another project) keep reading!
Supply List:
Cardstock, this happens to be DCWV
Glow in the Dark paint from Folk Art
Paint Sponge from Dollar Tree
Tape (to hold stencil in place... I used a magic eraser, because it was such a small design, and I forgot the tape)
Paint Mixing Palette (I can't remember where mine is from.)
How-To~
Step One:
Choose your materials.
This time I'm just cutting a basic shape, so I'm cutting my stencil out of paper.
I'm going to paint a mermaid somewhere in the bathroom, not 100% sure on placement.. but I'll know by the end of this blog...
Step Two:
Pick your design.
I just wanted something simple, and chose this mermaid:
Step Four:
Load your material onto your mat. Make adjustments as needed. (For example I moved mine down and in, away from the paper edges.)
Step Five:
Unload, and weed your design. Remember you want to remove the positive, and leave behind the negative pieces. (Opposite of weeding a typical design.)
Step Six:
Place your stencil down, tape it in place, and paint. I find a sponge is easier, and tends not to leak/have paint seep through as much as a brush does.

I did miss a bit of her hand, but this is over the sink, and we're repainting this tan/brown to a blue shade next month, so it didn't really matter. |
Hey Y'all!
Guess what I've been reading?
…Nothing!
Ok, that's a lie. I've read a few magazines, and I am still reading the Idiot's guide from the previous blog.

Have a great day,

Hey Y'all!
Is it just me, or does all the new stuff seem very SSDD (Same Shit Different Day) or in this case, different packaging?
That's not to say I don't think some of it looks super cute, it's just not anything new and innovative. I would still add a few items to my wishlist. Like the newest Hocus Pocus Collection, or the Beetlejuice products...
As far as my current favorites, I've mentioned them all before!
I should tell you about I.B.Y. Beauty's current sale:
*Discount applied at checkout.
I have several of the highlight's, blushes, and quite a few eyeshadow palettes. I really like all of them!Hey Y'all!
Class Prep:
I've not been informed that I've sold any tickets to my class, if so I haven't prepared anyone's address letters. I'll message her Wednesday morning to make sure.
Show prep:
It's hard to judge how much to prep for these show, the last few were much smaller than this one is advertised to be.
I do have all the previous items that are unsold, minus the kids shirts (I added them in the store). I have added some photo frames, and plan to do some Fall/Halloween shirts, and possibly some tote bags tomorrow.
Hey Y'all!
I don't know why I thought I'd be able to film this in such a small space, but that was my original plan. Virtually impossible considering the bathroom closet is behind the door to the room, and across from the tub, with about 2ft of floor space...
So instead here's a small before and after. I still need to refold the towels...
The attic access is through the closet as well, the shelves split in half and fold up to make steps. It's an interesting design.
The bottom of the closet space is actually the head space for going down the steps. (It's a split foyer home.)
Before:
Hey Y'all!
It took a while to get enough products to do a decent empties post. I'm 99% sure I've accidently thrown several away, but I don't remember what at this point, other than a fragrance sample or 2.
Previous Empties Blogs:
http://craftinwifescreations.blogspot.com/2022/02/januaryfebruary-empties.html
http://craftinwifescreations.blogspot.com/2022/05/recent-empties.html
This time it's all hair & skincare items.
Here's the empties & my thoughts:
1) Exuviance Peel~ I received mine through Influenster (along with a sunscreen I'm still using). I really liked the products, and they did make a noticeable difference, I just can't see myself paying $80+USD for this. (I like the sunscreen even more, but individually it's also $80+.)
2) Aveeno Fresh Greens Blend Shampoo~ For my hair at the time (during & immediately after chemo) this worked great. I loved it enough to finish it, and it still did well, but it's just not the right shampoo for my current hair.
3) Shiseido Sunscreen~ Y'all know I loved this. I've raved about it a few times. I will buy again for next Spring/Summer. (I think I have enough face sunscreens to get me through until then.)
4) Bath & Body Works Strawberry Pound Cake~ I liked this, and it lasted FOREVER, I'm glad to be trying something new.
5) Blossom Dry Shampoo~ (Dollar Tree, no link) This was okay, it was rather white cast, but brushed out pretty well. I hardly ever use dry shampoo, but needed this for traveling. I wasn't a fan of the scent, it was a bit strong. In a pinch I'd use it again, but there are far better products out there.
6) A07 Deep Moisture Cream~ I don't know if this exists (in the States) anymore, the only place I could find it was ebay. I got mine through Birchbox. It was nice, but is apparently unavailable so...
7) Herbal Essences Argan Oil Shampoo (almost finished the matching conditioner)~ I swap conditioning products so I never finish a Shampoo & Conditioner at the same time. This has been a decent shampoo, but wasn't working great for my current hair.
8) Head & Shoulders Supreme Nourish & Smooth Set~ This was a travel set that Hubby & I both used. I liked the tingly coolness when it was super hot while camping lol. My hair did seem smoother, but that was also in different water, so hard to say how much the shampoo/conditioner contributed.
I have sooooo many products that are close to empty, so the next empties blog should be a big mix of items!
Have a great day,
Craftin' Wife
Hey Y'all!
I've got a lot going on this month!
I think I've mentioned before I'm hosting a class at the store (Sept 22nd), so I've been preparing for that:
