Hey Y'all!
I know this is late, my apologies, but I was busy yesterday at the store.
I've been a reader as long as I can remember, I'd guess kindergarten, but I've always enjoyed getting carried away into another place with a good book.
I fondly remember the book-mobile, especially in the summer months. We'd go up to the school, where the book-mobile parked, and then spend the afternoon under the shade tree in the yard, or on the porch swing, reading.
As a preteen/teen I was very into the Fear Street books and Sweet Valley High, and Seventeen magazine, then later Stephen King, Debbie Macomber, and other fiction writers, and Cosmo, etc. My mom was very strict with what we could and couldn't watch, but books were never off limits.
I also love to learn, but have a niche book wise- crafting, business, cooking, and design are typically where I stay in non-fiction.
I've never been a person who can read more than 2 books at a time, one fiction, and one not (magazines don't count). I like to read a book until I'm finished, then pick up another! I understand that it's the same premises as watching a few TV shows during the week, but I'm just not wired that way. How about you? Do you read one at a time, like me?

I picked this one up at a giant library sale, because it caught my eye, and the description sounded interesting. I've not started it (beyond page one) because I'm finishing up Light As A Feather first.
* The beginning of the book is posted at the amazon link if interested.
This was a $3 bin book store buy. I hadn't heard of the show, and I've not watched it. The book is pretty good, and I'm almost finished. I did set it down for quite awhile, but when I picked it back up again I am liking the story. It's YA for sure, but the characters are well fleshed out and the writing isn't juvenile. I didn't know until researching this blog that it was a series. Depending on how this one ends, I may have to know the rest of the story, and seek out the other books. I'll let you know.
In the book the main character is a recently decided "cool" girl (McKenna), along with a new girl in town (Violet), and the already established popular trio at one of the girls slumber party when they decide to play "light as a feather, stiff as a board". (We didn't play this way at any slumber party I went to.) The girls tell stories of death prediction... and that's when things start to get.. weird.
This was also a library discard book sale purchase. I'm not very far into it, and it's a bit outdated (link is to 3rd edition, I have 2nd), but some of the information has been valuable thus far. I'm looking forward to see what all I can take from this book and apply to our businesses.
Magazines:
Better Homes & Gardens~ Hubby got me this years ago, and I do enjoy the magazine for the decor ideas, recipes, and the occasional article. He's not renewed, and we're not getting billed, but it shows up every month.
Cosmopolitan~ This was one of those mandatory freebies, and it too continues to show up. Even after emails stating I have a digital only subscription, and that aforementioned digital sub has ended. 99% of the time I flip through this in 15min or less. Cosmo is not for the 40yr old married lady.
What magazines do you read? Let me know in the comments below!
No Fun Friday this week.
Have a great day,
