November Everyday Makeup Shelf & October Mini Review

 Hey Y'all!

It's a bit early, but we have a camping trip with the niece & nephew coming up, so here's November's Shelf & October Mini Review.

As a reminder here's what I was working with in October:

http://craftinwifescreations.blogspot.com/2022/10/october-everyday-makeup-shelf-september.html

I think I didn't pull enough variety in the eyeshadow palettes. While I enjoyed working with them all, you'll see in an upcoming blog I didn't do many looks for October. Most of what I pulled was green & purple. I was a bit worried the highlight palette from the Beetlejuice collection was going to be an overspray, but it isn't and the colors are pretty true to pan. Both lipsticks were very nice as well. Other than those new items all the others I have talked about previously. I am so close to emptying several of them, and probably would have already if I was really trying to use them up.

November Shelf:

This months palettes:
Too Faced HSN Pumpkin Spice
TooFaced Pretty Rich
Lime Crime Venus II
BH Cosmetics Orange Sorbet, Bubble Gum, Pistachio (I'd love to own the rest.)

Most everything here stayed the same.

Highlighter/ Bronzer swapped out:
I.B.Y.  Wanderlust Mini Highlighter (Use code CraftinWife25 for 25% off your total)
Bobbi Brown Bronzer/Blush/Highlight Trio

Overview of everything!

I really need to remember next month to clean the unit before I start pulling new items! I usually just use dish soap and let it air dry... is there a better method? Let me know in the comments below!

Have a great day,

How-To: Halloween Treat Bags

 Hey Y'all!

First off this one is as simple, or intricate as you'd like! I did share a few of mine previously on TikTok:

I chose one of the more simple routes and bought the clear bags from Dollar Tree. Included in that were the twist ties. I made the stickers (for the non food treats) with Cricut's print then cut feature:

Every die cut machine has several treat bag templates, but you don't need one for this craft.

This one's easy enough for the kids to help!

Simplified Supplies:

Paper of your choosing, medium thickness works best

Scissors

Tape or stapler

Optional Supplies:

Paper punch/ corner rounder

Bone Folder

Anything else you'd like to add (bows, stickers, rhinestones, etc.)

How-To:

1) Choose your paper. {Mine is from The Bewitched Matstack, from DCWV 2012.}

2) Cut to width, and double length you want your bag to be. (If you want a 4in tall bag, start with an 8in piece.) * I started small for this example, I just plan to add a little note for hubby & a Hershey Kiss.

3) Fold your paper in half. This is where a bone folder can help, but I just did it by hand.
Open the fold back up.

4) Add tape (or staples). I used double stick tape, I find it easier, and cleaner looking.

4B) If you used double stick peel the backing.

5) Reclose your fold, making sure whichever method of adhesion you chose is lining up.
I stuck my small Cricut scraper in the pocket to show the bag.

6) Embellish however you'd like.

I'd love to see your Trick or Treat set up, so feel free to tag me on social media!!

Have a great day,

What I'm Reading (Nothing)

 Hey Y'all!

I know in the last BOOK blog I had mentioned that I just couldn't get into Lexicon, by Max Barry. For some reason I decided to give it another shot, and it's still a no from me. I do think my Mom will like it, so I'll give it to her.

I have a stack of books bed side, and promise to choose one and start reading it this weekend. What are you reading? Any suggestions?

I've not picked up another book yet, but I have been busy working on the items from the store, and getting the craft room organized.

Today I got all the trunk or treat bags ready for tomorrow:

Sorry this blog was so short y'all! I promise next month I'll have some books to share with you!

Have a great day,

Beauty Get To Know Me Questions

 Hey Y'all!

There are 202 Questions, so I'm going to do this similar to the other Get to Know Me series, in 25 question sections.

The questions can be found here:

https://wisledge.com/beauty-tag-questions/

As usual, because I fail to pre-plan always, I've not read the questions ahead of time.

Here we go~

  1. What’s your current favorite skincare product?  Y'all know, the Dior Eye Serum.
  2. Which essential oil do you use the most? None.
  3. What’s your favorite hair pack? I don't have one. Any suggestions?
  4. Do you love to use hair serum? It's short now, so I don't typically bother with hair serum.
  5. How important is sunscreen? Extremely!
  6. Which makeup brand is your favorite? I can't help but love Too Faced eyeshadow palettes.
  7. Do you love to curl your eyelash? Love too? No, but I like the look, so I do it.
  8. How difficult is to draw a Wing liner? For me? Impossible. My niece however, easy peasy.
  9. Mascara or a simple eyelash curler? Both. Curl first y'all. Mascara first messes up your lashes, and the curler.
  10. What’s your opinion on the world famous Becca Highlighter? Becca is bye bye.
  11. Which foundation is your favorite? I don't like heavy, full coverage. Other than that I don't have a favorite.
  12. Are you a BB cream, CC cream, or a foundation person? BB or CC.
  13. How important do you think baking is for makeup? Not at all.
  14. Subtle makeup look or a bold one, which one do you prefer to do your daily look? Depends on what I'm doing/Where I'm going.
  15. What’s the trendiest look that you want to try soon? What's on trend? I haven't kept up...
  16. Have you ever tried to do the curly eyebrows? Heck no. That was silly looking on everyone.
  17. Which is your favorite moisturizer? The Charlotte Tilbury is nice.
  18. Serum or moisturizer – what’s your first choice? You should apply serum first if doing both. Typically I just do moisturizer.
  19. Do you really feel that primer is necessary before applying moisturizer? No.
  20. How important is the skincare regime for you? I should be more scheduled with it.
  21. Which cream do you apply at night? The CT.
  22. Is it necessary to buy a night cream? They tend to have thicker formulas, and stronger ingredients.
  23. What’s your favorite makeup brand? I don't think I have one.(WE did ask this already, which doesn't bode well for the future, if it's already repetitive in the first 25 questions.)
  24. Which makeup item you bought first with your pocket money? (Go Grammar!) Pretty sure it was a Wet 'n Wild eyeliner pencil.
  25. Which is your favorite perfume? Marc Jacobs, literally any of them.

What I've Learned and Applied to my Business from the Digital Marketing Course

 Hey Y'all!

I finished the course, a bit behind schedule, but it was self paced, so the goal was my own.

I took it through stackskills, however the same course is on Udemy, and I'm sure other online learning sites as well.

Here's a few of the course curriculum synopsis:

An overview of all content~

An in-depth look at a few modules~

This course is taught by Daragh Walsh:

A few sections didn't really apply to me, and that's when I slowed down in getting through the course. Once I got through the extensive google sections it went much faster.

My favorite section was probably the YouTube portion, I took a lot away from it. My channel is very small, but I was able to implement several things from the course (like how to use analytics), and it taught me a lot about how YouTube works that I didn't know. For example, did you know YouTube is the second largest search engine in the world?!?

The course helped me figure out who my target audience was, and how to reach them. One thing I've already implemented is: Free Content attracts people.

I've stepped up my TikTok, to 3 post per week. Also, I'm currently running a sale on my Facebook, with chances to win freebies. I also post a How-To blog at least once a month.

Other things:

Something blog specific you may have noticed recently is I try to always have at least one link to my own content, and I link any relevant products/services. (Goal is 2 or more of both.)

I also try to always include at least one photo, this helps get noticed on other platforms in a sea of links.

I'm learning more about SEO and how it works, I've learned a lot, and took notes, but will probably go through this section again. (Writing it down helps me to process & remember information.)

I've learned how to claim my Google Business profile, and set it up.

Twitter always seemed kinda pointless to me, I just didn't really understand the options, or the layout and objective. However I believe most of my readers are coming from the twitter posts (M,W,F). How'd you find this blog? Let me know in the comments below!

I don't see myself ever using Google Ads, that seems too big for me. It also seems a bit complicated, and I have no interest to learn even more about how they work. I could say the same with LinkedIn, it doesn't seem relevant to me, but I did create an account.

I also started using Pinterest again, however I haven't put much into it. So far it's too early to tell if it's worth the time from a marketing standpoint.

I also learned more about the various ad types, and when/how to use them, than I will ever need to know. The Facebook ad section was very informative and helpful, as to which ads to use for what purpose.

If I had to add anything I'd expand on the Instagram section, and add a section on TikTok marketing. Overall I learned A LOT from the course and would recommend it to anyone interested in Digital Marketing.

Fall Flip (Seasonal Closet Switch)

 Hey Y'all!

As usual TN went from 90 to 50 like it saw a state trooper, and it was time to switch the wardrobe!

First though, I had to share this rainbow sunset combo that I just happened to look out and see one evening (no rain).

If you look closely it's a double rainbow.. this lasted for 30+ min.

Closet Flip:
This looked like I was making a bigger mess than I started with until at least half way through. The closet looks so much better! I can't share it though, because that's where all this years Christmas gifts (so far) currently are.

Just getting started~
Curtain flipped up for light.
Pulling out all the summer items.

Trying to figure out how I wanted to organize dresses, and holiday specific items.

Where did this bin come from??!!!

This is all our Fall/Winter clothes.

Closet is empty!

I can't wait to find the "right" additional dressers.

Still a work in progress, but my side is coming along. Dresses are in the basket, as well as sweaters.

FLOOR!!!!
Halloween specific clothing in the orange laundry basket. Afterward (and everything is laundered) it'll go in the bottom of the closet. Then the Christmas basket will take it's place.

We'd really love 2 more of this dresser, but can't find anything even remotely similar.
This is current stock from the brand:

We aren't brand loyal, but aren't willing to pay an insane amount for matching dressers either. Who knew they'd be so hard to find again...

What would you do about the dresser situation? Let me know in the comments below!

Have a great day,
Craftin Wife

Update: Bathroom Clean Up

 Hey Y'all!

Here's an update as to how well I've kept up the bathroom reorganization. (This blog is mainly for myself, to check in & keep things organized.)

The previous clean up blogs:

http://craftinwifescreations.blogspot.com/2022/07/makeup-clean-up-declutter-part-1-of-2.html

I took all the update pictures today, and didn't do any additional straightening up~

Closet:

Most towels are in the laundry.
Overall so far this is doing well.

Cabinets:
I need to figure out something with the cords, otherwise it still looks pretty good.

On both of these I need to fix the shelf liner.

Drawers:

Hair do dads. I need a better system for the headbands, they fit, but not well.

Hubby drawer.

Skincare. I use the baby wipes in a pinch for removing makeup.

Countertop:
Not as bad as it can get, but definitely room for improvement.

Makeup:
Face.

Lip. Eyeshadow drawer is overflowing, especially since I'm pulling less for the everyday shelf. This Zodiac palette is just too big to fit.

Eyeshadow drawers 1 & 2.

Overall I think the bathroom still looks pretty good. (I'm looking to finish painting soon.)

You've seen the space what would you change? Let me know in the comments below!

Have a great day,
