 Hey Y'all!

My apologies, but I'm taking a brief hiatus from blogging. Blogs will be back in November.

I'll still be active on other platforms during the break so be sure to check me out there:

5 Products I Love, and 3 I Don't...

 Hey Y'all!

Let's get right into it with today's blog.

5 Beauty products I'm loving right now:

Makeup-

Face- Flower Erase Everything Foundation in UF1. It's like a primer, but better. Like a foundation, but no shade matching required. Walmart says out of stock, and it's not available elsewhere. I was able to find it on the other beauty websites, and places like posh, mercari, etc.

Eyes-

Y'all already know. Wet 'n Wild Big Poppa Mascara is my #1 drug store mascara. It lifts, lengthens, darkens, and curls my lashes well. Plus it lasts all day!

Lips-

IF you've seen my collection you know I have a ton of lip products, and I constantly look at what's new. Here lately I've been really loving nude, and drift towards this formula & shade the most... Dose of Colors Liquid Matte Lipstick in Nude Mood. It's the perfect pinky nude for what I'm currently liking. It dries down nicely and isn't sticky, or slippery.

*It's the only pic the website would let me save.*

Travel Product-
I love I.B.Y. Beauty, and enjoy all the products from them I've tried. If you decide to shop the brand use code CraftinWife25 at checkout for 25% off! For travel I like the Carry On Face Palette. It has an eyeshadow palette side, and a face quad side featuring blush, bronzer, and highlight. I plan on taking this on our upcoming trip to Ohio.

Skin~
Y'all Influenster has been spoiling me with luxury products and I'm loving them all! Currently I'm using Charlotte Tilbury  Charlotte's Magic Cream, and it's fantastic. My skin is more hydrated, brighter, and feels firmer after use.

3 FAILS:

1) Burt's Bees Tinted Balm~ I have two of these, one in a pale pink, the other in a rich berry shade, neither has much pigmentation. I know a tinted balm isn't supposed to be solid pigmentation, but expected more. The pink is actually more tinted/pigmented than the berry, which is pretty much non existent on my lips. I could get over that, but the balm isn't very good either. I have one lipstick from the new line, and it's more moisturizing than the balms (still lightly pigmented however). I remember Burt's Bees being better than this, so I don't know if the formula changed or what went wrong, but these are a fail.

2) Lorac Alter Ego Lip Gloss~ This feels great on the lips, and was very moisturizing. The issue was that when first applied the color was beautiful, but within 20min it was gone (Where did it go?). The moisturizing effect lasted most of the day, so maybe it was a color issue (Flower Child) and maybe not. At $$ this price point, I'm not willing to gamble on Lorac Lip Gloss (again).

3) Parlor Leave in Detangling Conditioner~ Yuck! This feels more like a crappy hairspray than a detangler. The Barbie Cotton Candy Kids Detangler from Dollar Tree does a better job. After using this I had a really hard time combing out my damp hair, and felt like I was pulling some out. I actually had to cut a bit from the ends on one side it was such a matted mess. I will not give this another try as a detangler, and will not subject my mom or sister to the horror that is this product by sharing it with them. The only plus? It smells really good.

Friday the 13th!

 Hey Y'all!

I searched, and searched for events happening near(ish) us this Friday the 13th, and didn't really find much that was the spooky we'd like.

So our plans? Meet up for a few online sales, dinner at Mom's and then... no idea!

How To: Spooky Scene w/ Cricut Window Cling (Beginner Friendly)

 Hey Y'all!

(There has been a pretty big update to Design Space, I'll do a special blog this week and cover the changes!)

Using window cling is super easy with Cricut!

Let's get into it:

Supplies-

Window Cling (Whichever colors you choose, I'll be using Orange. Also available in Black, Frosted White, and Red.)

Cricut w/ Design Space Loaded

Cutting Mat

Weeding Tool

You can use your imagination and dream up any scene you'd like, I chose this DS image:

Add image(s) to your canvas, and size them to fit your space.
When choosing images be mindful of weeding, and piecing it back together.

Make it!

There is a window cling setting, ready to go.
On the Explore Air 2 turn the dial to custom, and search for the correct setting (window cling).

All ready to cut!

Load material to mat. I used the standard grip mat.

Cut in progress:

Finished cutting, unload the mat.

Weed your design, and you're ready to place where ever you'd like!

Why window cling?

Create festive window decals using frosted window cling. This reusable non-adhesive clings to most non-porous surfaces and leaves no residue for DIY ease and convenience!

  • Non-adhesive clings to most non-porous surfaces
  • Removes without residue
  • Reusable; backed with liner for convenient storage
  • Designed for indoor use
  • Compatible with all Cricut machines

Pack With Me: Kitchen!

 Hey Y'all!

We've been saving the kitchen packing for last, and keep procrastinating doing the packing we can.

Obviously we can't pack up food, or all the cookware yet since were still using it, but we can pack up the cookbooks we want to keep, and the glass dishes, and Tupperware, etc...

Here's what the kitchen looked like before we got started:

In progress:

We got all the books packed, most of the cookware, plastic cups, random kitchen items, towels, etc. We ended the day with a full bag of trash and several totes full packed up. We only quit because we ran out of totes, and the only thing left to pack up right now is all the glass (bakeware, and dishes) and cleaning supplies.

We're getting there!

Have a great day,

September Looks, October Shelf (Makeup)

 Hey Y'all!

If there was a theme for Septembers looks it was SIMPLE. I did my make up a few times, but I really wasn't inspired by the palettes I chose... Plus we didn't go much and I find I do my makeup less when that's the case.

As far as a review on September's shelf  they are all products I've used before. I'm not sure either My Little Pony palette is doing what I want, but I also feel like I didn't give either enough of a chance to know for sure.

September Looks:

5) If I'm going to recolor this hair, it's time... Thoughts? Let me know in the comments below!

10)

I think I did okay.

Shooting for at least 14 looks in October, with these products:

Storybook Cosmetics*, Colourpop, and Revolution eyeshadow palettes.

*My hubby bought me this palette, many Christmases ago, I have no idea where from, but since he doesn't stray to far into makeup online I assumed Ulta. Sad to see what happened to the brand, the products were cute.

We'll see how I do with just these glosses, I may end up pulling some more color (beyond nude).

Have a great day,
