How To: Paper Craft Thanksgiving Placemats

 Hey Y'all!

Today we'll be creating cute, yet simple Thanksgiving Placemats.

Supplies:

Cricut

Cricut Pens (any color)

Paper/Cardstock

Adhesive of your choice

I used two FREE images for this project. Unfortunately I forgot to save the details for the bottom scalloped circle image, and after a good 15min trying to find it in design space again I gave up. There are plenty of images similar to this one... and even it is up there somewhere.

The leaves:

Once I added both to my canvas I ungrouped the leaves, and hid the score lines. I then began working with them individually.

On the leaves I typed out each name, and then manipulated it to fit where I wanted.

The font I used is Hey Butterfly, and can be found here:

I typed out the word Thanksgiving, and centered that on my placemats.

One that was done, I started planning the leaf placement for each.

Now it's ready to MAKE.

In the planning phase I hadn't decided what color pens I was going to use. Since I'm mostly packed up in the craft room I decided to use the left over pink sticker cardstock from a previous project instead of red. I have a huge 12x12 paper stack out and this paper was the most neutral. So, instead of the black pen shown on screen I went with a green glitter and a metallic gold.

Paper is on the mat and pen is loaded in the machine!

This cut on Paper- very easily. No bits were hung up, or uncut.

The leaf I cut (on the Air2) on Heavy Cardstock setting. That seemed to work out well. It did cut all the way through, but this was simple enough to easily peel the backing off.

Adhere the two pieces, and you're done!
