No Blog Today

 Hey Y'all.

No blog today, sorry. I'm just not feeling it. I'm a bit anxious about my upcoming PET Scan on the 2nd, and DR appt on the 4th, and just having a hard time today.

Thanks for sticking with me!

If you could answer the question in the pic, in the comments below, or over on any of my social media platforms that'd be great!

Have a great day,

January Mini-Review & February Everyday Makeup Shelf

 Hey Y'all!!

FEB SHELF:

Here's a link to what I was working with in January:

http://craftinwifescreations.blogspot.com/2021/12/january-everyday-makeup-shelf-december.html

January
January's Hits~
I've had really dry skin/lips so both the L.A. Colors Lip Oil* & the Wet 'n Wild In Love With Cocoa Primer got a lot of use. I like both products, but will say while I enjoy that this lip oil isn't as thick and slippery as others it's also not quite as hydrating, so there's a trade off there. The Cocoa Primer is surprisingly hydrating, and I enjoy the scent.
*Link is not exact same product.
I am constantly surprised by how great I.B.Y. Beauty products are. All the eyeshadows blend really well, and are nicely pigmented. I didn't notice any fallout in the pan or on my face, and every shade I've tried lasted all day. (If you're interested in trying the brand use code CraftinWife25 for 25% off your total!)
I also really enjoyed the array of cream and liquid products my sister got me for Christmas (Thanks Sis!). I tend to stick with powders, so I wanted to try some other product types, I especially like the Zoeva Liquid Light Drops, it's easy to use and blended out nicely.

There were no misses, and the no name palette is also pretty good for a few bucks. I haven't used the Naked palette yet, so it's sticking around. I also kept most of the lip products, and added 1 for February.

February Shelf~
As stated above the lip section stayed pretty much the same.

I'm excited to try these face palettes from I.B.Y. and finally use the Naked Reloaded palette.

I got the Flower Beauty Clear Foundation around Christmas, I got one for my Mom & Sis as well, and my mom raves about it, so I'm excited to give it a try.
(Unrelated, but I hate their website, the banner is enormous and it's all just too big. What are your thoughts?)

I imagine I'll empty a few things this month, like the Smashbox Shadow Primer, if I use it.

Are you working on emptying/panning anything? Let me know in the comments below!

Have a great day,

Thanks!)

On to the new stuff!

First off  is a Christmas decor item I can't remember if I shared. I just needed a little something for the backdoor:

Next, I won a contest on Costal Business Supplies facebook page, this was the prize:

So excited to win!

Since we're talking vinyl, I got all this for fantastic price from a friend (and got to pet her adorable doggie):

So much vinyl!!

Every color imaginable!

Plus a load of HTV! More than could fit in this picture.

With all this new vinyl I had to add more organization:
Top is HTV sheets, Middle is transfer tape and some Dollar Tree Vinyl (I've yet to try it out). Lastly is my roll of black HTV, because it's closer here, and random paper, etc.

All large vinyl rolls, more in the dresser pictured below.

The craft room is getting there, but I definitely have the other side left to organize/declutter.

I always start each month loading/creating SVG's I may want to use for the store, etsy, or facebook. Then I pare it down and begin to work!
What I started with.

What I made:
I completely forgot to take pics until I was loading up the store stuff, and so I just snapped a quick few on my phone.

You can kind of see the Mason Jar Mugs here.

The above four are  ReRuns Upcycled Shirts. They're in the store currently at $15USD each, and 10% of that benefits a local charity.

The two ReRuns below are posted on facebook:

This just happened, hopefully it'll turn into an order!

Some other things I've done:
My nephew is 10!!

I'm not done with this, but I can't fully decide what else I want to do with it. I've already hung it on the door. So I'll probably leave it as is this year if I'm real with myself.

How I'm Styling My Hair (18mo Post Chemo)

 Hey Y'all!

I touched on this in a previous blog, but I'll share some current pics here. My hair does it's own thing most days, and I wear a lot of headbands:

I feel like on the daily I use headbands, or simple clips far more often, I am learning I tend not to like my hair on my forehead for long, so even if I start with it "down" its in a headband by the end of the day.

Do you have any style tips? Please share them in the comment section below!

How- To Card Making

 Hey Y'all!

I wanted to share how to make a few simple cards today!

1) Birthday Card

2) Christmas Card

3) All Occasions Card

4) Fall Card

5) Halloween Card

Supplies used in all cards:

Cardstock (paper) or premade card base & envelope set.

Stickers

Envelope Maker (Punch Board)

Stamps (Wood or Acrylic)

Ink Pad

Scoring Tool

Paper Trimmer

Paper Punch/Corner Rounder

Markers

Colored Pencils

Scissors

Die Cutting Machine (Sizzix, Cricut, & Silhouette, are the ones I have. If you'd like a blog/video comparison on them let me know in the comments below!)

ATG (or double stick tape)

Xyron Sticker Maker

You don't need all of this to make a card. I started with some paper, an ink pad, and a few stamps, and a pair of Dollar Tree scissors (I now use them for yarn, or ribbon). Others start with a card kit like these, by Anna Griffin.

There are no rules in card making (or crafting) just have fun!

Possible Step Ones:

Step #1A~ Pick your cardstock base color, & measure it to size. I use the ruler attached to the paper trimmer for this. Cut, and the fold. This is where the scoring tool(s) come in, but I usually just fold it and smooth it down manually. Use Envelope Punch Board, per manufacturers instructions, for correct envelope size.

Step #1B~ Get you premade base out.

Step #1C~ Pick a cardstock, start up your die cutting machine. Choose the file, or die(s), you'd like to use. Follow machine instructions to complete card/card base, and envelope.

( I can do a step by step of this in the future if you'd like, let me know in the comments below!)

Step Two:

Choose what you want to do next.

Stamp? Coloring? Paint? Stickers? More die cuts? All the things? There are no wrong answers. Be creative! Do whatever strikes your fancy.

If you want a more in-depth in how-to each option let me know! I'd be glad to go over all of them in the future.

Adhere the layers with the ATG or make each piece a sticker with the Xyron.

Step Three:

Admire your completed card!

Let me know what else you'd like to know about card making!

Have a great day,

Current Favorites & Fails (Beauty)

 Hey Y'all!

I've been trying a few new things out recently so I figured now was time to do a mini review on those items!

Favorites:

Hair~

K18 Leave-in Molecular Hair Mask- at around $60 USD an ounce I didn't want to like this. (I got mine through Influenster.) I do like it though. It's virtually unscented, which I love, and it makes my hair less "poufy" and very smooth. From their website:  The patented peptide technology works to repair damage from bleach, color, chemical services & heat – restoring strength, softness, smoothness, and bounce to hair. I don't know if I believe any product can repair your hair, but it definitely is smoother, and softer.

Makeup~

IBY Beauty Glam Eyeshadow Palette-  At around $20 USD this eyeshadow palette is fantastic! The colors are well pigmented and blend fabulously. I hope the brand continues to grow, and flourish. From their site:

  • Infused with Rosehip Seed Oil for skin protecting properties
  • Formulated with Vitamin E to nourish skin and provide antioxidant benefits.
  • Vegan, Gluten Free, Cruelty Free.
  • Manufactured without Talc, Mineral Oil, Parabens, Phthalates and Sulfates.

(I do have a coupon code if interested: enter code CraftinWife25 at check out to save 25% off your order!)

Skincare/Body~

EcoTools Body Roller- (All the tools in this kit are nice, but this was my favorite.)  I like the fact that I can slather on the lotion without getting messy. From the website: The Body Roller is the ultimate self-care tool to help reduce puffiness and smooth skin.

Fails:

Hair~

Nothing I've tried recently I'd put in the fail category.

Makeup~
Profusion Cosmetics Mean Girls Regulation Hottie Cooling Facial Mist~ (Wow, that's a mouthful!) This smells great, like peppermint, and I enjoyed that aspect. The cooling factor, I didn't really notice. Other than that, I don't think it did anything. From their website: a cooling face mist that will make you feel like a regulation hottie with every spritz.

Skincare/Body~

Physicians Formula Argan Oil~ I liked this okay at first, but either I got an older batch or it has a really short shelf life, because it went real stinky, real quick. I didn't notice any of the claims actually working for me, but my skin was well moisturized. From the website: 100% Pure Argan Oil, known as "liquid gold" for this its rich conditioning benefits, can improve skin's brightness, tone, texture and elasticity. Weightless multi-tasking miracle combines the benefits of a moisturizer, primer, brightener, protector & treatment in one!
