Go-To Products I Pack Every Time We Move (Life in Wildebeest Edition)

๐Ÿ’„ Go-To Products I Pack Every Time We Move (Life in Wildebeest Edition)

Wednesday – Beauty | Craftin’ Wife’s Creations

Living full-time in the Wildebeest means there isn’t a “home we come back to and reset from”—this is home. So my beauty routine isn’t built around getting settled again… it’s built around staying functional while everything around me might change parking spots.

What does change is my seasonal rotation. I keep a stash of extra makeup stored at my sister’s in Tennessee, and whenever we’re in that area, I do a swap-out—like a beauty supply refresh stop built into travel life. Everything else has to survive life on the road.

So these are the non-negotiables that stay in Wildebeest full-time.

๐Ÿ’ง Skincare That Travels Light (But Works Hard)

I don’t do complicated skincare routines out here—just what actually keeps my skin happy in constant climate changes.

  • Gentle cleanser
  • Moisturizer (SPF included, always)
  • One serum that earns its place (hydration or glow—no overthinking it)
  • Micellar water for quick resets when sinks are optional depending on setup

If it doesn’t work in humidity, dry air, and “we’re parked who knows where this week,” it doesn’t stay.

๐Ÿ’‹ The Core Lip Rotation

My Tennessee stash is where the “fun extras” live. In Wildebeest, I keep it simple:

  • One everyday tinted balm
  • A few neutral “looks like I tried” lipsticks
  • A couple bold shades for when I feel like being extra on purpose

Everything else rotates through my sister’s storage when we swap stock.

๐Ÿงด Hair Care That Doesn’t Demand Perfect Conditions

RV life haircare is all about flexibility:

  • Foam Curling rods, easy and portable
  • Leave-in conditioner/detangler
  • Heat protectant for the occasional styling mood
  • A pile of hair ties that somehow still vanish into the void

If it requires a salon setup or multiple tools plugged in at once, it’s not a road-life product.

๐Ÿ’… Nails: Low Maintenance, High Function

I do keep a UV nail light in Wildebeest—because pretty gel moments absolutely still happen out here.

My core kit:

  • Nail file
  • Cuticle oil
  • UV light
  • Gel polish when I want something more polished without a salon visit

It’s the perfect balance of “I can maintain this while parked at a campground” and “I still want nice nails.”

๐Ÿชž Tiny Vanity Survival Kit

Space is always a factor, so everything has to earn its spot:

  • Compact mirror
  • Two solid brush sets (no duplicates, no clutter)
  • Makeup bag that actually zips closed
  • Simple remover wipes or balm

If it creates mess faster than I can clean it in a small sink situation, it doesn’t come.

๐Ÿ’„ Everyday Face (5-Minute Wildebeest Version)

This is the routine that happens when we’re either moving, exploring, or I just don’t feel like overcomplicating things:

  • Tinted moisturizer or BB cream
  • Neutral eyeshadow
  • Mascara
  • Lip Balm
  • Cream blush

Done fast, functional, and done enough to feel put together without needing a full setup.

๐Ÿš Final Thoughts from the Passenger's Seat Vanity

Everything beauty-related in Wildebeest has to pass one simple test: does it still make sense when we’re parked somewhere new tomorrow?

My “extra” makeup lives in Tennessee, waiting for swap days when we’re in the area. Everything else has to hold its own in motion, in small spaces, and in real life—not an ideal setup.

And honestly, that’s what makes the routine work. It’s not about having everything with me—it’s about always having enough.

—Amanda | Craftin' Wife

๐Ÿ’„ Next beauty post might involve me admitting how many “backup” products I’ve convinced myself are still essential… even though I rotate the same five things daily.

Fresh Face Spring Routine: 6 Simple Steps

๐Ÿ’„✨ Fresh Face Spring Routine: Light, Glowy & Low Effort ✨๐Ÿ’„

Because nobody has time for heavy makeup when the sun finally shows up and suddenly everything requires SPF and iced coffee.

Alright, spring is here, which means two things:

  1. The weather cannot decide what it’s doing
  2. Your winter makeup routine is officially sweating in the corner

So let’s talk fresh skin, light makeup, and products that don’t melt off your face by noon.

๐ŸŒฟ Step 1: Skin Refresh (aka “wake it up, please”)

Winter skin = dry, dull, slightly confused. Spring skin goal = hydrated, bouncy, alive again.

Here’s the low-effort reset:

  • Gentle cleanser (nothing that makes your face feel like cardboard after)
  • Lightweight moisturizer (gel creams are the MVP here)
  • SPF EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. (Yes, even if it’s cloudy. Yes, even if you’re “just running errands.”)

๐Ÿ’ก Pro tip: If your moisturizer + sunscreen combo feels greasy, switch to layering thinner products instead of one heavy one.

✨ Step 2: The “I Slept 8 Hours” Glow Base

We’re not doing full coverage foundation unless we absolutely have to. Spring is about letting skin breathe.

Try:

  • Tinted moisturizer or skin tint
  • Light concealer ONLY where needed (under eyes, redness, spots)
  • Cream blush tapped on cheeks for that “I just came back from a brisk romantic walk I absolutely did not take” look

Bonus points if you apply blush slightly higher on the cheeks for a lifted, fresh effect.

๐ŸŒธ Step 3: Easy Makeup Swaps (winter → spring edition)

Time to retire the heavy stuff:

❌ Thick matte foundation → ✔️ Skin tint or BB cream
❌ Dark smoky eyes → ✔️ Soft brown or champagne shimmer
❌ Super matte lips → ✔️ Gloss, balm, or tinted oils
❌ Heavy powdering → ✔️ Light set only where you crease

We’re going for: “naturally radiant, not freshly powdered statue.”

๐Ÿ’‹ Step 4: Eyes & Brows (keep it simple, not sleepy)

Spring eyes = soft definition, not drama club auditions.

  • Brown mascara instead of black for a softer look
  • One-and-done eyeshadow stick or light shimmer wash
  • Brushed-up brows with tinted gel (instant face lift, zero effort)

If you do nothing else, just curling your lashes + mascara = immediate “I tried” energy.

๐ŸŒผ Step 5: Lips That Don’t Require Maintenance

Because reapplying lipstick every 20 minutes is a hobby none of us signed up for.

Go for:

  • Lip balm with tint
  • Gloss with a slight plump effect
  • Hydrating lip oils

If it survives coffee, snacks, and talking too much… it stays.

๐ŸŒž Step 6: The Secret Weapon (Setting Spray or Nothing)

If you want everything to last through warmer weather:

  • Light setting spray for longevity
    OR
  • Honest acceptance that spring face is slightly lived-in and that’s okay too

We’re not aiming for perfection. We’re aiming for fresh, functional, and still cute at 4 PM.

๐Ÿ’š Final Thoughts from the Vanity Side of Life

Spring makeup is basically:

“I woke up like this… after 15 minutes of strategic hydration and blending.”

Less product, more glow, zero stress.

And honestly? That’s the vibe we’re sticking with until humidity season tries to ruin everything again.

Beauty Empties + The Honest Tea

๐Ÿ’„ Beauty Empties + The Honest Tea ☕✨

Hey hey, beauties ๐Ÿ’‹
Pull up a chair, grab your coffee (or let’s be real… reheated coffee from this morning), because today we’re doing something very satisfying:

We’re talking empties.
Not the cute kind. Not the “I might buy this again because the bottle was pretty” kind.

Nope.
We’re talking used-it-up, lived-through-it, have-thoughts-about-it empties. ๐Ÿงด๐Ÿ—‘️

And yes… I have opinions.

๐Ÿ’„ The Mascara Situation: CoverGirl (All of Them… Basically)

Let’s just call this what it is—an era.

CoverGirl mascaras have been in my makeup bag more times than I can count. Different tubes, different names, same general storyline:

✨ Looks promising
✨ Works great at first
✨ Slowly becomes “why are my lashes doing that?”

You know the moment—when your mascara stops enhancing and starts negotiating with gravity.

Would I repurchase?
Honestly… no. We’ve closed that chapter. ๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿ’จ

๐Ÿงด Moisturizer Drama: Dove

Now THIS one surprised me.

Dove usually gives soft, gentle, dependable energy. Like a cozy blanket in skincare form.

But on my face? It was giving more of a “hello, I am lightly coated and mildly confused” situation.

Not oily. Not glowing. Just… sitting there. Awkwardly.

Would I repurchase?
Nope. We tried it, we respected it, we moved on. ๐Ÿ’”

๐Ÿ’‹ Lip Gloss Flashback: LORAC

First question:
Do they even still make these? Because this gloss felt like I found it in a makeup drawer from 2014.

Pretty color? Absolutely.
Shine? Yes.
Stickiness level? Let’s just say my hair filed a restraining order. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Would I repurchase?
Only if I’m suddenly transported back to peak beauty YouTube era.

๐Ÿง–‍♀️ Face Masks: Anything BUT Peel-Off

Let me be extremely clear here:

๐Ÿšซ Peel-off masks are cancelled. Permanently. Forever. No appeals.

We are not peeling off skincare like it’s a home improvement project gone wrong. We are not questioning our life choices in the mirror at 11:47 PM.

However—

✔ Hydrating masks? Yes please
✔ Clay masks? Respectable
✔ Gel masks? Luxurious behavior

Just… no peeling. We’ve suffered enough. ๐Ÿ˜Œ

☕ The Honest Tea Moment

Here’s the truth nobody puts on the packaging:

Not every product is bad.
But not every product is for you.

And honestly? That’s where the real glow-up happens—figuring out what actually works instead of chasing whatever is trending, viral, or sitting in a “Top 10 Must-Haves” video.

Because pretty packaging will absolutely lie to you. ๐Ÿ’…

And your bathroom trash can will always tell the truth.

๐Ÿงผ Final Thoughts from the Vanity Frontline

Empties are kind of like little receipts from your beauty routine.

Some say: “Yes, buy again immediately.”
Some say: “What were you thinking?”
And some say: “Let’s never speak of this again.”

Either way, we learn. We declutter. We move forward with better products—and slightly less regret.

And honestly? That’s the real beauty routine. ✨

๐Ÿ’• Until Next Time…

Stay moisturized (with something that actually works), stay skeptical in the beauty aisle, and remember:

If it feels like it’s overcomplicating your routine…
it probably doesn’t deserve a spot on your vanity. ๐Ÿ˜‰

“No Makeup” Makeup Look

“No Makeup” Makeup Look (aka we tried, but chill)

Okay listen… today’s vibe is effortless beauty, also known as: “I absolutely did not spend 45 minutes blending for people to think I woke up like this.” ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’…

This week’s beauty feature is all about the No Makeup Makeup Look—the holy grail of looking put together while secretly wearing enough product to qualify as “definitely tried, just quietly.”

๐Ÿ’– The Goal:

Skin that looks like skin
Lashes that whisper “I’m awake”
Brows that behave (for once)
And vibes that say: I drink water and mind my business

๐Ÿ’„ The Reality:
A little concealer here, a little blend there, and suddenly we’re questioning if we should’ve just done full glam anyway ๐Ÿ˜‚

But honestly? That’s the beauty of this look. It’s forgiving, flexible, and perfect for days when you want to feel cute without entering a full-time commitment with your makeup bag.

✨ Quick Tips for the “I Woke Up Like This (Lies)” Look:

  • Lightweight base or tinted moisturizer = your best friend

  • Cream blush for that “I just took a brisk walk to nowhere” glow

  • Brow gel (a little chaos is fine, we’re calling it “natural”)

  • Mascara, but only enough to say “hi I exist”

  • Lip tint or balm so it looks like hydration is part of your personality ๐Ÿ’‹

And remember: if it takes longer than 10 minutes, we are officially leaving the “no makeup” category and entering “soft glam denial” territory.

Would I wear this every day? Yes.
Do I still occasionally forget and show up looking like I contour for sport? Also yes. ๐Ÿ˜…

Either way—this is your reminder that beauty doesn’t have to be complicated to be fun.

Drugstore Favorites

Drugstore Favorites I’m Actually Loving ๐Ÿ’„✨

Hey, crafty friends! ๐Ÿ‘‹ So, we all know the drugstore aisle can be a wild ride… sometimes you hit gold, sometimes you walk away wondering why you even tried. ๐Ÿ˜… But lately, I’ve been testing a few new goodies, and y’all—I’m here to spill the tea because some of these are absolute winners. ๐Ÿ†

1. Mascara That Actually Holds a Curl – Wet ‘n Wild Big Poppa ๐Ÿ˜

I’ve tried a bazillion mascaras that promise “all-day curl and volume” and end up giving me spider lashes instead. ๐Ÿ•ท️ But Big Poppa? Game changer. My lashes look lifted, full, and natural-ish without the clumps. Bonus: it doesn’t flake on me by lunchtime. ๐Ÿ™Œ

2. Foundation That Doesn’t Make Me Feel Like a Cake – E.L.F. Tinted Moisturizer ๐Ÿฐ

Full disclosure: I hate feeling like my face is baking in makeup. This tinted moisturizer gives me light coverage that feels like nothing at all—perfect for work, errands, or, you know, crafting marathons. ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ’‍♀️

3. Lipstick That Survives Snacks – ColourPop Glowing Lip ๐Ÿ’‹

Raise your hand if you’ve kissed your drink goodbye because your lipstick ran off at first sip. ๐Ÿ™‹‍♀️ Not with this one. It’s creamy, pigmented, and only needs a little touch-up after, say, a burrito. ๐ŸŒฏ

4. Affordable Face Masks That Actually Work – Dollar Tree Picks ๐Ÿง–‍♀️

Self-care doesn’t have to break the bank! These masks hydrate, brighten, and make me feel like a spa queen without emptying my wallet. And yes, I did take a selfie with the sheet mask on. Don’t judge. ๐Ÿ˜‚

5. Eyeshadow Palettes That Don’t Suck – Profusion Cosmetics ๐ŸŽจ

Drugstore eyeshadow? Usually a gamble. These palettes? Not only do the colors pop, but they blend like a dream. Perfect for a soft daytime look or a bold night-out glam. ✨

๐Ÿ’– Final Thoughts:
Honestly, I love finding gems that don’t cost an arm and a leg. These picks have become my go-to staples, and I genuinely reach for them almost daily.

Have you tried any new drugstore favorites lately? Drop them in the comments—I’m always looking for more affordable treasures! ๐Ÿ’Œ

Stay crafty & fabulous,

Makeup Routine: 15 Minutes or Less

✨ Makeup Routine: 15 Minutes or Less

Because some days we want glam… and some days we just want coffee.

Let’s be honest for a minute. Not every day is a full-glam, lashes-to-the-heavens, highlight-blinding-the-neighbors kind of day.

Some mornings are more like:
Coffee first. Function second. Face… somewhere in the middle.

Whether you’re running errands, heading to work, or just want to feel a little more put together, a quick 15-minute makeup routine can make a huge difference without eating up your whole morning.

Here’s my go-to routine when I want to look awake, polished, and ready for the day — without turning my bathroom into a full beauty studio.

☕ Step 1: Skin First (2 Minutes)

Before makeup, give your skin a quick refresh.

I keep this simple:

  • Moisturizer
  • SPF or tinted moisturizer

Tinted moisturizer is perfect for quick routines because it evens out skin tone without feeling heavy.

Pro tip:
Apply with your fingers. It blends faster and warms the product into your skin.

๐Ÿ’ซ Step 2: Conceal & Brighten (2 Minutes)

Instead of full foundation, I just spot conceal where I need it most.

Usually:

  • Under the eyes
  • Around the nose
  • Any surprise breakouts

Blend with a finger or sponge and you instantly look more awake and refreshed.

๐ŸŒธ Step 3: Brows (2 Minutes)

Brows frame your whole face, so even on quick days they’re worth the effort.

For a speedy routine:

  • Use a brow pencil or tinted brow gel
  • Fill sparse areas
  • Brush through

Done.

Even minimal brows can make a huge difference.

๐Ÿ‘ Step 4: Mascara Magic (3 Minutes)

Mascara is the fastest way to look put together.

One or two coats is all you need to open up your eyes and add definition.

If you’re feeling fancy, add a quick swipe of:

  • neutral shimmer
  • soft matte shadow

But honestly? Mascara alone works wonders.

๐ŸŒบ Step 5: Blush = Instant Life (2 Minutes)

Blush is one of those products that instantly makes you look healthy and awake.

A cream blush works great for quick routines because you can:

  • tap it on with your fingers
  • blend in seconds

A little on the cheeks goes a long way.

๐Ÿ’„ Step 6: Lips & Go (2–3 Minutes)

This step depends on the vibe of the day.

Quick favorites:

  • tinted lip balm
  • gloss
  • sheer lipstick

Something easy you don’t need a mirror to reapply later.

⏱ The Total Time

This routine takes about 10–15 minutes, depending on how much coffee you’ve had and how cooperative your mascara wand decides to be that morning.

It’s quick, simple, and perfect for days when you want to feel a little more polished without spending an hour getting ready.

๐Ÿ’• Final Thoughts

Makeup doesn’t have to be complicated or time-consuming to be fun.

Some days we go full glam.
Some days we go bare-faced.

And some days we land somewhere in the middle with a quick routine and a second cup of coffee.

And honestly? That’s perfectly fine.

My 10-Minute Everyday Makeup Routine in 5 Easy Steps

My 10-Minute Everyday Makeup Routine

Quick, simple, and realistic for travel days or busy mornings.

Let’s be honest.

Not every day is a full glam, 45-minute, playlist-blasting, vanity-lit kind of day.

Sometimes it’s:

  • Travel day.

  • Early morning dump station run.

  • Grocery stop in a random small town.

  • Or just “I want to look alive” energy.

Living in a 1990 E350 shuttle bus means I don’t have a beauty room. No massive drawer systems. No perfect lighting. Just a small space, a mirror, and whatever surface isn’t currently holding coffee.

So this is my real-life, 10-minute, everyday makeup routine.
Quick. Simple. Cute. Done.

Step 1: Skin First (2–3 Minutes)

I always start with moisturized skin. Hydrated skin = smoother makeup and less fuss.

  • Light moisturizer

  • SPF (if it’s a travel day, especially)

Instead of heavy foundation, I usually go for:

  • Tinted moisturizer or

  • Light coverage foundation

  • Or even just concealer where I need it

Under eyes. Around the nose. Any redness. Blend with a sponge or brush — whatever’s closest.

We are not contouring for the campground office. We are surviving it.

Step 2: Quick Face Structure (2 Minutes)

This is the “make me look awake” portion.

  • Light cream or powder bronzer (just a little warmth)

  • Soft blush (I like something rosy or peachy for everyday)

  • Optional: a tiny touch of highlight

Nothing dramatic. Just enough to bring life back into my face after coffee hasn’t kicked in yet.

Step 3: Brows (1 Minute)

Brows frame everything.

I keep it simple:

  • Light fill with a pencil

  • Quick brush through with spoolie

No sharp Instagram brows. Just “yes, these are intentional.”

Step 4: Eyes (2–3 Minutes)

For everyday, I keep it easy:

  • One neutral shadow all over the lid

  • Slightly deeper shade in the crease (optional if I’m in a rush)

  • Quick mascara

That’s it.

If I’m feeling fancy? A little shimmer on the lid.
If I’m really feeling fancy? Tiny wing.

But most days? Mascara does the heavy lifting.

Step 5: Lips & Done (1 Minute)

Lip options depend on the day:

  • Tinted balm for errands

  • Gloss for cute-but-casual

  • Neutral lipstick if I’m filming or taking photos

Throw it in my bag and I’m out the door.

Why I Love This Routine

Because it’s realistic.

It works in:

  • Small spaces

  • Natural lighting

  • Travel chaos

  • Busy mornings

It makes me feel put together without feeling overdone.

And honestly? That little bit of effort changes my whole mood for the day.

Real Talk

You don’t need 20 products.
You don’t need a beauty room.
You don’t need perfect lighting.

You just need a few favorites and 10 minutes.

Even in a 1990 shuttle bus. ๐Ÿ’•

5 Easy Steps To A Soft Valentine’s Makeup Look

 Soft Valentine’s Makeup Look

Hello friends! Today I’m sharing a soft, wearable Valentine’s look that’s romantic but realistic—perfect for everyday life on the road.

Valentine’s Day doesn’t always have to mean bold red lips and dramatic glam. Sometimes the prettiest looks are soft, glowy, and romantic—perfect for a cozy dinner, a coffee date, or even just treating yourself while parked somewhere peaceful. Today I’m sharing one of my favorite easy, travel-friendly makeup looks that gives a soft Valentine’s vibe without needing a full vanity setup.

Living and creating in a bus means I keep things simple, portable, and practical—but that doesn’t mean we can’t feel pretty.

Step 1: Fresh, Glowy Base

For a soft look, the key is skin that looks natural and healthy.

  • Start with moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated.

  • Use a light foundation, BB cream, or tinted moisturizer instead of a heavy base.

  • Spot conceal where needed rather than covering everything.

If you like a glow, a tiny bit of liquid or cream highlighter on the tops of the cheeks goes a long way.

Step 2: Soft Pink or Peach Eyes

Valentine’s looks don’t need complicated palettes.

  • Sweep a soft pink, rose, or peach shade across the lid.

  • Add a slightly deeper shade to the outer corner for gentle depth.

  • Blend well—soft edges make all the difference in this look.

If you want a little sparkle, use a shimmer shade in the center of the lid or inner corner for that romantic glow.

Step 3: Light Definition

Instead of heavy liner:

  • Use a brown eyeliner or a dark shadow close to the lash line.

  • Smudge slightly for a softer effect.

  • Finish with mascara to open up the eyes.

This keeps the look romantic rather than dramatic.

Step 4: Soft Flush of Color

A cream blush works beautifully for this style and travels well.

  • Apply to the apples of your cheeks and blend upward.

  • Shades like soft rose, dusty pink, or peach look especially flattering.

A little across the bridge of the nose can add that sweet, fresh-air glow.

Step 5: Easy Lips

Skip the bold matte reds for this look.

  • Tinted balm

  • Gloss

  • Sheer lipstick in pink or mauve

Comfortable lips are perfect for long days, coffee stops, and campfire conversations.

Travel-Friendly Tips

Doing makeup in a small space has taught me a few things:

  • Multi-use products save space (lip & cheek sticks are amazing).

  • Small brushes and travel mirrors make life easier.

  • Good lighting—usually by a window—is better than any vanity bulb.

Final Thoughts

Makeup doesn’t have to be complicated to feel special. A soft Valentine’s look is really about feeling cozy, confident, and a little bit glowy—whether you’re going out, staying in, or just enjoying a quiet evening with a good book.

And honestly, sometimes the best Valentine’s tradition is just taking a little time for yourself.

I’d love to hear if you try this look! Share your thoughts, tweaks, or favorite Valentine’s makeup with me—I love seeing your creativity shine.

Christmas Eve Beauty Routine: A Simple, Festive Look

Christmas Eve Beauty Routine: A Simple, Festive Look

Perfect for photos, family gatherings, or holiday parties

Christmas Eve is one of my favorite nights of the year—cozy lights, good food, familiar faces, and that soft kind of magic that doesn’t need to be loud to be beautiful. When it comes to my beauty routine, I like something that feels special but effortless, festive without being fussy, and comfortable enough to last through dinner, photos, and late-night cocoa.

This routine is all about enhancing what’s already there, adding a touch of holiday glow, and keeping things simple, wearable, and stress-free.

Step 1: Prep for Comfort & Glow

Before any makeup goes on, skincare is the real hero.

  • Gentle cleanser

  • Lightweight moisturizer (nothing greasy—especially if you’ll be indoors)

  • Lip balm (trust me, future-you will be grateful)

If your skin feels dry this time of year, a hydrating primer or glow lotion can make all the difference without adding heaviness.

Step 2: Even, Natural Base

Christmas Eve makeup should feel like you, just a little polished.

  • Light-to-medium coverage foundation or BB cream

  • Concealer only where needed (under eyes, redness, blemishes)

  • Soft setting powder on the T-zone to keep shine in check

I skip heavy contouring and go for a natural finish—it photographs better and feels more comfortable all night.

Step 3: Warm, Festive Eyes (No Fuss)

This is where the holiday magic sneaks in—without loose glitter or complicated blending.

  • Neutral matte shade through the crease

  • Soft shimmer or satin shade on the lid (champagne, rose gold, or copper)

  • Light brown or bronze liner smudged along the lash line

  • A few coats of mascara

The goal is warm, cozy, and softly glowing, not dramatic.

Step 4: Brows That Behave

Defined brows pull the whole look together.

  • Light fill with pencil or powder

  • Brush through with clear or tinted brow gel

Nothing harsh—just tidy and natural.

Step 5: Fresh Cheeks

A healthy flush makes everything feel festive.

  • Cream or soft powder blush in rose, berry, or peach

  • Optional subtle highlight on cheekbones (keep it soft, not sparkly)

Think “I’ve been laughing all evening,” not “stage makeup.”

Step 6: A Holiday Lip

Lips are where you can lean a little more festive if you want.

  • Classic red for bold holiday vibes

  • Berry or wine for something cozy

  • Glossy nude if you prefer simple elegance

Pro tip: Blot once and reapply for longer wear—especially before photos.

Step 7: Set & Go

A light setting spray helps everything melt together and stay put through hugs, dinner, and dessert.

Final Thoughts

This Christmas Eve beauty routine is all about feeling good, not doing the most. It’s soft, festive, photo-friendly, and comfortable enough to enjoy the night without worrying about touch-ups.

Whether you’re gathered around the table, snapping family photos, or curled up with someone you love, this look lets you shine—just with a little holiday glow.

Wishing you a cozy, beautiful Christmas Eve ๐Ÿ’•๐ŸŽ„

My Easy Day & Night Beauty Routine for Life on the Road

My Easy Day & Night Beauty Routine for Life on the Road

Hey beautiful friends!

Amanda here, your Craftin’ Wife, sharing my go-to day and night beauty routines that fit perfectly into our busy, on-the-road lifestyle. Whether you’re camping under the stars or cruising down the highway, taking a little time for yourself keeps me feeling refreshed and glowing — no matter where we park.

Morning Routine: Ready to Shine

  • Cleanse & Refresh: I start with a gentle cleanser to wash away overnight oils without drying my skin.

  • Moisturize & Protect: A lightweight moisturizer with SPF is a must to keep skin hydrated and shielded from sun damage.

  • Multi-Task Makeup: I use a tinted moisturizer or BB cream with SPF, a swipe of blush (that doubles as lip tint), and a quick coat of mascara.

  • Set & Go: Finish with a spritz of setting spray to keep everything in place through the day’s adventures.

Evening Routine: Wind Down & Renew

  • Gentle Makeup Removal: I love using makeup remover wipes or micellar water with a cotton pad — quick, easy, and water-saving.

  • Cleanse Thoroughly: Follow up with a gentle cleanser to refresh and clean my skin.

  • Hydrate Deeply: A richer moisturizer or night cream helps skin recover and stay soft overnight.

  • Special Care: Depending on the day, I might add a few drops of facial oil or a nourishing eye cream.

Even with a small space and a busy schedule, these simple steps keep my skin happy and healthy. The key is choosing multi-use products and keeping things light but effective.

My Must-Have Beauty Items for Life on the Road

My Must-Have Beauty Items for Life on the Road

Hey gorgeous friends!

Amanda here — your Craftin’ Wife — and today I’m sharing my ride-or-die beauty essentials. Living full-time in an RV means I have to be extra picky about what goes in my makeup bag. Space is tight, and my routine has to be quick, easy, and adaptable to all kinds of weather, lighting, and life-on-the-go chaos.

Here’s a list of the products I can’t live without — compact, versatile, and perfect for tiny-living beauties like me!

๐Ÿ’ง 1. Tinted Moisturizer with SPF

Why I love it: It evens out my skin tone, adds hydration, and protects me from the sun — all in one step. No need for foundation or separate sunscreen!

My pick: Anything with SPF 30+, light coverage, and a dewy finish.

๐Ÿ’– 2. Cream Blush Stick

Why I love it: Doubles as blush and lip color. It blends easily with fingers, saves space, and gives me a healthy, natural glow even when we’re dry camping in the desert.

Bonus: Some work as eyeshadow too!

๐Ÿ–Œ️ 3. Brow Pencil or Gel

Why I love it: Defined brows make me feel polished with very little effort. A tinted brow gel adds hold and color without needing precision.

RV tip: Brow pencils are heat-friendly. Gels? Store in a cooler cabinet to avoid melting.

๐Ÿ‘️ 4. Mascara (Waterproof if You’re Adventurous!)

Why I love it: Even when I’m makeup-light, mascara makes my eyes pop and helps me feel more awake.

On humid days or hiking trips, waterproof = lifesaver.

๐Ÿ’„ 5. Tinted Lip Balm

Why I love it: Keeps my lips soft and adds a pop of color. Perfect for casual days or layering under lipstick when I want a bolder look.

RV fave: Stick to sheer berry or nude — goes with everything!

๐ŸŒฌ️ 6. Setting Spray

Why I love it: Helps my makeup last all day and adds hydration when my skin’s feeling dry from too much A/C or sun.

Pro tip: Choose one that doubles as a refreshing face mist.

๐Ÿงฝ 7. Micellar Water + Reusable Cotton Rounds

Why I love it: Cleanses gently with no rinsing — perfect for water-saving RV nights. I keep a travel bottle in the bathroom and one in my makeup kit.

๐Ÿงณ 8. Travel-Size Makeup Brushes

Why I love them: They’re compact, easy to clean, and just the right size for small spaces. I keep 3 or 4 essentials in a pouch — no more, no less.

๐ŸŽ’ 9. Multi-Use Palette

Why I love it: A small palette with neutral shadows, a highlighter, and blush saves me from packing individual compacts. Less bulk, more beauty.

๐ŸŒž 10. Dry Shampoo or Refresh Spray

Why I love it: RV shower days don’t always happen on schedule — but I can still look put-together. A quick spritz fluffs things up in seconds.

๐ŸชžBonus Item: Compact Mirror with Light

Why I love it: RV lighting is... not great. A good mirror with built-in light makes all the difference when applying makeup in dim corners or early mornings.

These beauty items are my holy grail staples — functional, space-saving, and perfect for staying glam without overstuffing the bathroom cabinet. Whether you're in an RV, a hotel, or just want to simplify, these picks get the job done!

What’s YOUR must-have beauty item? I’d love to know what makes your list!

Stay fabulous,

Beauty Q&A with the Craftin’ Wife: Road Life, Real Talk & Radiance

Beauty Q&A with the Craftin’ Wife: Road Life, Real Talk & Radiance

Hey beautiful friends!

Amanda here — your Craftin’ Wife — and today I’m answering some of the most common (and fun!) questions I get about keeping up with beauty routines while living full-time on the road.

Yes, it is possible to stay glam in an RV — with a little creativity, the right tools, and a good sense of humor. So let’s dive in!

๐Ÿ’„ Q: How do you store your makeup in such a tiny space?

A: It’s all about compact storage and being super intentional! I use a small clear bag for my daily go-tos and seasonal items. I also love makeup bags with built-in brush holders. Everything has a home, and I keep it simple — if I don’t use it regularly, it doesn’t stay in the RV. My "big" makeup case is a vintage travel case, all the things I take are kept in it. and I change some things out seasonally when we return to TN for doctors appts.

๐ŸŒž Q: Do you still wear full face makeup every day?

A: Nope — I’m all about a functional glow. Most days I go for a tinted SPF, and mascara. It’s quick, fresh, and doesn’t melt off in the summer heat! On special days or content filming days, I love going full glam — glitter cut crease, anyone?

๐Ÿšฟ Q: How do you take off your makeup without wasting water?

A: Makeup remover wipes and micellar water are my BFFs! I keep a little stack of reusable makeup pads and use a no-rinse cleanser most nights. On shower days, I’ll double-cleanse properly, but daily? It’s quick, efficient, and water-friendly.

๐ŸŒฌ️ Q: Does the weather affect your skincare?

A: Absolutely. Travel takes my skin through all kinds of climates, so I adjust often. I keep a hydrating serum for dry spots and a mattifying moisturizer for humid areas. And SPF is always in my routine, rain or shine!

๐Ÿ’… Q: What’s one beauty item you can’t live without on the road?

A: Just one? That’s rude. ๐Ÿ˜‚ But if I had to choose — probably my cream blush stick. It works as blush, lip tint, and even eyeshadow in a pinch. (Runner-up: mascara! Small item, big impact.)

✨ Q: How do you stay inspired with your beauty looks when you’re on the move?

A: I love finding inspiration in our travels — desert neutrals, forest greens, sunset shimmer... nature is the best palette! Plus, I follow beauty creators online, and sometimes just trying a new lip combo gives me life.

Beauty Tag 150-175 (Continuation)

 Hey Y'all!

We're continuing this blog series:

https://craftinwifescreations.blogspot.com/2025/07/continuing-beauty-tag-126-150.html

The numbers are off again... IDK.

This is 150-175, The questions can be found here:

https://wisledge.com/beauty-tag-questions/

  1. Is there any cosmetic that can be used for multi-purpose? Lots. For example most all lipstick can double as blush, if eyeshadow is eye safe then it's face safe too.
  2. What’s your favorite makeup mantra? Not really a mantra, but IMO there's no "season" for specific colors. Wear what you like, whenever you want.
  3. Do you have any particular beauty wish? Nope. Not that I can think of.
  4. How would you like to do your wedding makeup? That happened a loooong time ago. I'd do it much the same, only more bold, now.
  5. Which type of neckpiece suits you the best? I do not know what this is asking.
  6. What was your first lipstick? Jane Cosmetics is one of the first I remember.
  7. Which shade of lipstick is actually the best nude for you? I don't know, I own about 30 nudes, LOL.
  8. Would you ever go through any cosmetic surgery? No thanks.
  9. Do you like contouring? I don't really do it, so I guess not.
  10. HD makeup or normal makeup? Normal...
  11. Matter liner or glittered liner? Depends on the day/look. Glitter for Christmas almost always.
  12. What is the best compliment you have got to date for your makeup skill? Just that it looks good.
  13. What requires to be a makeup guru? A love of makeup, skill in application, and a following who likes your style.
  14. Have you ever given any free consult to save anyone’s skin condition? No.
  15. How does it feel to wear bold makeup? Amazing.
  16. Which perfume can energize your mind? Happy, Clinique
  17. Which hairstyle suits you the best? I'll let you know when I find it.
  18. So, which type of color lens suits you the best? Any I choose.
  19. Glitter, glossy, or matte nail paint? All them.
  20. Have you ever waxed your eyebrow? Yeah. You?
  21. Have you ever eaten lipstick in your childhood? I'm sure I might have, but I've not heard stories so maybe not.
  22. What is the perfect base for your makeup? I like porefessional, but haven't bought it in years. I just keep trying new things instead.
  23. 3 beauty tips that your mom taught you? Black eyeliner is best when heated, Covergirl is too orange for us, perfume is best when used sparingly.
  24. Have you ever tried applying colored mascara? Lots of times!
  25. Which is your favorite brand of bathing products? Ummm... Bath and Body Works

Have a great day,

Beauty Tag 101-125...

 Tag Questions!

YAY! The numbers aren't off this time!

  1. Do you have freckles? I did as a kid in the summertime, now I don't think so. If I do they aren't visible to me.
  2. Have you ever tried to increase the density of your eyelash? No.
  3. Which brand of fake eyelashes lasts longer? I don't wear them, so I don't know. I would like to try out the real magnetic ones (not the eyeliner kinds) but I can't see myself spending much on them.
  4. Which cosmetic brand you have never tried? Most Indy brands, simply because I don't know which are reputable brands (and shipping is crazy).
  5. What’s your current favorite salon? I actually don't have one.
  6. How many glasses of water do you drink daily? between 7 and 16 ish.
  7. How many hours of sleep is needed for a beautiful and gorgeous looking skin? 7-9 is what I think they say is ideal.
  8. Heavy coverage, moderate coverage, or low coverage – what works the best for you? Light to medium. Full coverage feels yuck on my face.
  9. Do you use concealer on a regular basis? Nope.
  10. What type of eyeshadow pallet is your bae? One with COLOR and 1 or 2 nudes.
  11. Nude look or vibrant look – what do you prefer? Either, depends on the day.
  12. Have you ever tried any weird looking lipstick? Yes. Denim blues, grey, gold, purple... Usually get looks in small town Tennessee, but so what!
  13. In which look do you get a number of compliments? Warm colors... pink, peach, orange tends to go over well.
  14. Do you regret any product purchasing decision? I'm sure we all do. Mine is an old Physicians Formula mascara. They don't carry it anymore but the brush applicator was stiff as a board, and the product itself was a mess!
  15. What’s your best-bought product ever? In recent memory, Profusion Lip TInt/Oil. Love it.
  16. In which product, do you usually splurge your money? Foundation/CC/BB Cream. The drugstore ones just don't do it. I can't find a decent color match and they oxidize too quickly.
  17. Which brand of shower gel do you love to use? Bath and Bodyworks.
  18. Like your skin, do you feel it is necessary body exfoliator? On occasion, yes.
  19. Have you ever tried to wash your hair using clay? No...
  20. Which type of clay mask is your favorite? I don't really see any benefits from them.
  21. Do you believe that commercial products can really save your skin? "Save" no. Help out, yes.
  22. Are you facing any skin problem currently? Nope..
  23. Cold wax or hot wax? If you're gonna do, go with hot. IMO it works better and easier.
  24. What’s your opinion about Mineral oil? I don't have one.
  25. How do you treat skin tan? Moisturize, and sunscreen during the day.
