House Update!!

 Hey Y'all!

It was a shock to me, but we were under contract within a few days of being an active listing. (Chris said it would go that quickly, I was skeptical.)

We had soooo many showings in the few days, and a couple offers. It was crazy!

Inspections and appraisal were finished by Monday, and I assume all went well, because we haven't heard anything, and the realtor is very on top of things. Closing is set for February 4th!!

We fancy.

It went so quickly it was a whirlwind of activity for about a week and a half, and now it's jarring. Just sit around and wait.

Makeup Traveling With...

 Hey Y'all!

I filmed a clip about the makeup I planned to take just before Christmas, and that's what gave me the idea for this blog. In the video you'll hear me mention taking a specific product for Christmas day, and that's why.

All my makeup fit's in this vintage travel case:

I do have my eyeshadow brushes in the Elmo case from the Sesame Street x Wet 'n Wild collection, and it too will fit in the case.

After the video I realized I cold fit even more, because of the lid style being lifted. In total I think I have about 16 lip products, and 30ish palettes, a tinted moisturizer, primer, setting spray, and powder...

Everything fits with ease. The only negative is that most everything has to come out to get to all the things I need (want) daily. That's not a big deal for me, it just means I'll probably get more use out of everything since it'll all always be accessible. I plan to switch things out on a quarterly basis, with the next swap being in April.

Craft Supplies Traveling With...

 Hey Y'all!

In this blog I'm going to share a list of the craft items that are coming with me, in the van. This blog isn't about how I'm going to fit them all in or the storage solutions we've come up with- that's later in the month.

First is both my Cricut Explore Air 2, and the Joy.. if there's space for both. If not, just the Joy.

You've seen the carrying case for the Air 2, now hubby recently got me this one for the Joy off Amazon. It'll also hold the Mini Press!

Both cases are jam packed with weeding tools, vinyl, leather, HTV, markers, pens, etc.

I've also got a storage cube (soft) full of more vinyl, transfer tape, and blanks.

Blanks= small totes, some cups, small crossbody bags, and a few other random items. 

Outside of Cricut items, I've packed my sewing kit, and all my drawing/coloring markers, pencils, and books.

I think that should keep me plenty busy without taking up too much space!

Books That Are Traveling With...

 Hey Y'all!

We're getting closer! In this blog, I'll share the books that I'm taking with me for the first leg of our journey.

I haven't included Chris' books, but can get anyone who's interested the titles. Most all his books are related to either travel, photography, or game design/development.

Here are my books:

As much as I prefer a physical copy, an eReader for travel was a must. It's loaded with several novels, and a few non-fiction titles. I'm always open to book suggestions, so feel free to leave those in the comments below!

The weather book seemed like a fun flip thorough, as well as the foraging book. I would like to learn more about edible plants and their uses. The USA book is mainly touristy points of interest, but those became that way for a reason, and I'm sure we'll check out our fair share of tourist spots! I'm going to finish the Landry series soon, however it made sense to me to bring them all and keep them together. Lastly, the ghost towns book is mainly for Chris, he's really into that as well. I figured I should learn a bit about the history of the places we plan to see too.

There's still organization that needs to happen in this bin too... a few too many random items, however it currently seems like the best fitting spot for the hot cocoa since they're a bit large.

Goals For 2024

 Hey Y'all!

Today I'm going to share my ten goals for this year, as well as my planner. 

I don't do New Years resolutions, but this is when I plan and set my yearly goals. Do you do resolutions? Let me know in the comment section.

The planner is from Michaels. I believe it's Recollections brand, it has no branding. It was supposed to be hubby's planner last year, but since he never used it he passed it to me. (He has a smaller planner he likes.) This is a goals planner, so that seemed fitting too.

Goals:

I  separated my goals into 3 sections-

Personal, Craftin' Wife's Creations, and Outland Adventures.

Personal~

1) Read More. 1 book a week is the minimum goal, any topic- fiction, or non-fiction.

2) Learn Something New- Monthly. - History of an area, a new skill, new trivia, etc.

3) Take A Daily Walk- Anywhere, any distance.

4) Be More Positive- Kind, look on the bright side, look for the good.

CWC~

5) Move From Sales- close the FB shop, and the Google business listing(s).

6) Start Focusing more on Craft Teaching- How-to's, new techniques, etc.

7) Shift Beauty Section- More space saving, How To in a small space, minimalism, etc.

OA~

8) Take More Video/Pics- "Cool" things, and everyday life.

9) Grow Social Media(s)- Goal is $ making. Post more often- 3x weekly on TikTok, 1x weekly on YouTube, and Instagram, continue blogging.

10) See 5 additional "new" states this year- Short list are: AL, MS, MO, IL, MI...

This next section is a few pages preset to write in short and long term goals.

January and February Short Term Goal:

Close Shop(s). Create more content.

Long Term:

Grow Social Media.

 

This section allows for monthly goals to be written. (Some of this gets a bit repetitive currently.)

There are a few other sections, like several pages of planner stickers, a few other goal setting pages, and a vision board. Currently those aren't in use. The folder will come in handy in the future, and there's one for each month!

I never use the calendar layout, I just use the weekly planner sections for everything.

At the back of each monthly section is this daily goals tracker. We'll see if I keep up with it. I don't have many daily goals to track, and it's in an inconvenient spot in my opinion.

I've had the smaller version of this goals planner before (2018, or 2019 if I'm remembering correctly). I liked it enough, and am liking this larger version a bit better. I do prefer the days/weeks layout like this over the block style. So far my favorite is one week for the two pages, but this is a close second. I like these larger planners better too.

What We Got For Christmas

 Hey Y'all!

I always enjoy seeing what others got for holidays/events, so each year I share my husband and  I's. If that's not something for you, that's cool. Just skip this one!

From each other:

Chris got me- TooFaced Snow Globe Eyeshadow Palettes, and the lip balms, and a leather backpack.

I got him- Diablo 4, and a few other little things.

We got the van- Lots of tools, headlights, dash cam, idle pully, and I don't remember what else.

From Family:

Chris got a very nice, warm shacket and pj pants plus $50 from my Sis and family. From Mom he got a box of pretty rocks (sea shells) and $100.

I got this crossbody bag, and $50 from Sis, and this tumbler filled with $100 from Mom.

We've spent some of the money on a nice lunch, and a couple pair of comfy pants with pockets each.

Favorite gift we gave? Easily the funniest was the Marc Jacobs perfume to Mom, and Sis got her the exact same one.
