Winter Skin Prep in Dry Air: Keeping Your Glow All Season

Winter Skin Prep in Dry Air: Keeping Your Glow All Season

Hello, crafty friends! ❄️

Winter is here, and with it comes dry, biting air that can leave even the most resilient skin feeling tight, flaky, and just plain unhappy. As someone who loves cozy crafting sessions, curling up with a good book, or taking photos of winter wonderlands, I know that having soft, hydrated skin makes all those moments feel even more luxurious. So, let’s talk winter skin prep and how to keep your skin glowing—even when the air outside is anything but!

Welcome back to Wildebeest. Cold weather can be rough on skin, especially in a bus. Today I’m sharing my steps and products that keep my face smooth and makeup-ready all winter long.

1. Hydrate Inside and Out

It might sound simple, but staying hydrated is step one. Cold air can sneakily dehydrate your skin, so keep a water bottle nearby while crafting or working from home. Pair this with a rich, nourishing moisturizer that locks in moisture. Ingredients like shea butter, hyaluronic acid, and ceramides are winter skin heroes.

2. Gentle Cleansing

Switch to a mild, creamy cleanser instead of harsh soaps that strip natural oils. Over-cleansing can worsen dryness, leaving skin tight and irritated. Consider a hydrating face wash or even a cleansing balm for those extra chilly days.

3. Exfoliation – But Don’t Overdo It

Exfoliating helps remove dead skin, allowing moisturizers to sink in better. However, in winter, less is more. Opt for a gentle exfoliant once or twice a week. Avoid anything too abrasive, especially if your skin is sensitive.

4. Layering Moisture

Think of your skin care like crafting a layered project: start with a hydrating serum, then lock it in with a heavier cream. For extra dry spots (hands, elbows, knees), add a rich balm or ointment. Overnight treatments work wonders, too.

5. Don’t Forget SPF

Yes, even in winter! Sunlight reflects off snow, and UV rays still reach your skin. A daily SPF helps prevent damage and keeps your skin looking fresh for all your winter adventures.

6. Create a Cozy Routine

Winter is the perfect time to turn skin care into a ritual. Light a candle, play some cozy music, and give yourself a few extra minutes to massage moisturizer in—your hands and your mind will thank you!

My Favorite Winter Skin Must-Haves:

  • Rich Moisturizer: CeraVe Moisturizing Cream

  • Hydrating Serum: The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5

  • Gentle Cleanser: Vanicream Gentle Facial Cleanser

  • Overnight Balm: Aquaphor Healing Ointment

Keeping your skin soft and happy in dry winter air isn’t complicated—it just takes a little extra love, hydration, and layering. I hope these tips help you feel cozy, radiant, and ready to craft all season long! 💛

Happy winter, friends!

Self-Care Sunday Routine, Midweek Edition

Self-Care Sunday Routine, Midweek Edition

Let’s be real: waiting until Sunday to take care of yourself is a scam. 😅 By the time midweek rolls around, energy is low, patience is thinner than washi tape, and everything feels louder than it should. That’s why I started doing a Self-Care Sunday… on a Wednesday—a gentle reset to carry me through the rest of the week.

This isn’t about perfection or luxury. It’s about checking in, slowing down, and giving yourself permission to breathe.

Step 1: Reset the Space (15–20 minutes)

I can’t relax if my surroundings feel chaotic. Midweek self-care always starts with a mini reset, not a full deep clean.

  • Clear one surface (desk, vanity, or kitchen counter)

  • Light a candle or wax melt

  • Open a window if the weather allows

  • Toss laundry into baskets (no folding required)

Rule: If it takes longer than 20 minutes, it’s tomorrow’s problem.

Step 2: Comfort Clothes Only

Hard pants are illegal during self-care.

I change into:

  • Soft leggings or lounge pants

  • An oversized tee or cozy hoodie

  • Fuzzy socks or barefoot freedom

This small switch signals to my brain: we are done performing for today.

Step 3: Skin Care, Not a Full Routine

Midweek is not the time for a 12-step process. It’s about care, not effort.

My go-to:

  • Gentle cleanser

  • Hydrating toner or mist

  • Moisturizer

  • Lip balm or overnight lip mask

Sometimes I’ll add a face mask—but only if it feels good, not because I “should.”

Step 4: Creative Calm (30–60 minutes)

This is where Craftin’ Wife’s Creations really shines. 💕

I choose one low-pressure activity:

  • Coloring or doodling

  • Journaling (messy is allowed)

  • Simple crafting or prep work

  • Planning upcoming projects without committing to them

No deadlines. No content creation pressure. Just making for the joy of it.

Step 5: Nourishment That Feels Kind

Midweek self-care food is about comfort + ease.

Ideas:

  • Soup or something warm

  • A favorite snack plate

  • Tea, cocoa, or flavored water

  • Dessert without guilt (yes, even on a Wednesday)

Eating something intentional reminds me that I deserve care every day, not just weekends.

Step 6: Gentle Wind-Down

I end my routine by slowing things way down.

  • Phone on Do Not Disturb

  • A familiar show, comfort movie, or audiobook

  • Stretching or lying flat on the floor for a few minutes (highly underrated)

If I go to bed early afterward, that’s a win—not a failure.

Why Midweek Self-Care Matters

You don’t need to earn rest. You don’t need to wait for Sunday. And you definitely don’t need to be burned out to deserve care.

This Midweek Self-Care Sunday helps me show up more grounded, more creative, and a lot kinder to myself—for the rest of the week.

If today feels heavy, consider this your permission slip to pause.

What’s one small thing you can do for yourself tonight?

Beauty Tag (76-100)

 Hey y'all!

Tag can be found HERE. Why the numbers get changed in the copy I don't know but this is 76 to 100.

  1. Which essential oil can heal acne and pimples? Don't use them, so don't care.
  2. Do you ever buy products out of curiosity? Occasionally, but I generally look up the product first.
  3. How important is an attractive product packaging? For something new it has some importance, if it's not eye catching I'm probably not going to glance at it.
  4. If a product is effective but does not have a promising label and graphics – then would you still buy that? If it was recommended I may try it, but if I hadn't heard of it probably not.
  5. How important is the advertisement while purchasing any cosmetic? Depends on where/how. If it's strictly print or TV I'd probably never see it.
  6. Do you read online reviews while buying a particular product? Yes.
  7. Do you love your skin? It's doing it's job. I don't LOVE it, but I don't dislike it either.
  8. What makes your hair care very special? Umm. nothing. I use the same things as lots of other people.
  9. Which is your favorite conditioner? I like Oribe Gold Lust and Hair Food
  10. Glossy or dry matte – what’s your favorite eyeliner? Matte.
  11. What’s the most promising lipstick this year? TBD. I've not tried many new this year, we'll see.
  12. Which brand of oil do you use on your face? I haven't found one I love yet. Suggestions?
  13. What’s your holy grail skin oil? See above.
  14. How often do you change your skin care products? Until I find something I love, or my skin changes. So pretty often.
  15. Do anti-aging products work? Some do, some don't.
  16. What’s the best natural anti-aging product according to you? Coverage. Stay out of the sun between 10 -3 when possible.
  17. Do you experiment with your cosmetics? YES!
  18. Which product lasts longer in your closet? Clothes, lol. If you mean cosmetics wise it takes forever to go through foundation because I don't wear it very often.
  19. Are you a compulsive buyer? Not too much.
  20. How often do you shampoo every week? HUH?!? I wash my hair 2 or 3 times a week typically.
  21. Do you take care of your eyes? Yes.
  22. Which eye cream is your current favorite? Dior!
  23. Lavender oil or Rosemary oil – what’s your favorite essential oil for hair care? Too short to need oils.
  24. Eggs on breakfast or eggs on hair? Food. I'm not into making a big mess.
  25. Which tip would you like to give to other makeup lovers? Play around and have fun!

Have a great day,
Craftin' Wife

Skin Care I'm Currently Using

 Hey Y'all!

Here's a link to my previous skin care blogs:

https://craftinwifescreations.blogspot.com/search?q=skincare

What have I been using?

Morning:

Cleanser- Nothing really just rinse my face with a microfiber towel.

Moisturizer-

It's either this, or another cream with SPF.

Primer-

It varies monthly, and sometimes I don't use any. Currently though it's the Primer Spray from the Wet 'n Wild Sesame Street Collection.

Lips-
Whichever generic lip balm I'm carrying. No favorites here. Currently it's a mint balm from Marshalls.

Evening:

I use one of those spin brushes 2 or 3 times a week, mine is from Vivatar.

Cleanser-

Currently I am liking this one fairly well... I've never tried a cleanser I absolutely love. Have any suggestions? Leave them in the comments below!

Moisturizer-

I love this one, and will be sad the day the bottle is empty. (I received mine through Influenster.) It's super moisturizing without being too thick or greasy feeling. (Laneige Water Sleeping Mask is another favorite of mine.)

Lips-

It is a bit goopy, so I tend to use it only right before I go lay down for the night but I do really like the lip mask.

Body- Any lotion, as it's getting closer to winter I need to find a moisturizer I really like.

Currently I use this, on occasion. It's okay, but I don't love it.

What are your skin care favorites? Let me know in the comments below.

Have a great day,

Craftin' Wife

Self-Care Night Essentials

Self-Care Night Essentials (you deserve it 💕)

Alright, besties… we need to talk.

Not about your to-do list.
Not about the laundry staring at you.
Not about that one project you swore you’d finish this week.

We’re talking about YOU. Yep. You. The one who keeps pouring into everyone else’s cup and forgetting to refill your own. 🚨

Tonight? We’re fixing that.

Because self-care isn’t selfish—it’s survival with a cute aesthetic. 💅✨

🌙 Set the Mood (because vibes matter)

Before you even think about relaxing, you gotta set the scene. We are not doing chaotic, overhead lighting self-care. Absolutely not.

  • Soft lighting (lamps, fairy lights, candles if you’re feelin’ fancy 🕯️)
  • Your coziest blanket or oversized hoodie
  • A comfort show, playlist, or audiobook (bonus points for true crime or cozy vibes 👀)

This is your official permission slip to romanticize your life for the next few hours.

🛁 The “Wash Away the Day” Moment

Whether you’re a bath girlie or a quick shower queen, this step is non-negotiable.

  • A good-smelling body wash or bath soak
  • Exfoliating scrub (goodbye stress, hello soft skin)
  • Shampoo/conditioner that makes you feel like you have your life together

Pro tip: stand there an extra minute and just… exist. No thinking. No planning. Just vibes.

💄 Skincare = Therapy (fight me)

Listen, I don’t care if it’s a 3-step routine or a full 12-step K-beauty moment—this is your time.

Essentials:

  • Cleanser (wash the day and the drama away)
  • Face mask (sheet, clay, peel-off… dealer’s choice)
  • Moisturizer (because we are not out here being crusty 💁‍♀️)

Optional but ✨extra✨:

  • Eye patches
  • Facial roller
  • Lip mask

You don’t need perfection—you just need consistency and a little love for your skin.

🍵 Snacks & Sips (because obviously)

You cannot self-care on an empty stomach. That’s just science.

  • Herbal tea, hot cocoa, or your emotional support iced coffee
  • A sweet treat (chocolate = therapy, I don’t make the rules)
  • Something salty if you’re that girl

Balance. Wellness. Snacks. We love to see it.

🎨 Do Something That Fills Your Cup

This is where you reconnect with you.

Ideas:

  • Craft something (duh 😉)
  • Journal your thoughts
  • Read a few chapters of that book you keep ignoring
  • Paint your nails or play with makeup
  • Scroll Pinterest and pretend you’re redecorating your entire life

No pressure to be productive—just present.

📵 The “Unplug” Challenge (I dare you)

Okay, this one’s tough. I know.

But try putting your phone down for even 30 minutes.
No notifications. No doom scrolling. No comparing your life to strangers on the internet.

Just you, your cozy space, and your peace.

Groundbreaking, honestly.

💖 The Real Talk Moment

Self-care isn’t always face masks and fluffy socks.

Sometimes it’s:

  • Saying no
  • Setting boundaries
  • Letting yourself rest without guilt
  • Admitting you’re tired

And tonight? Rest is the goal. Not perfection. Not productivity. Just… rest.

✨ Your Self-Care Starter Pack

If you’re building your perfect night, here’s your quick checklist:

✔ Cozy clothes
✔ Soft lighting
✔ Something that smells amazing
✔ Skincare faves
✔ Snacks & drink
✔ A relaxing activity
✔ A little bit of “leave me alone” energy

You don’t need a special occasion.
You don’t need permission.

You just need to decide that you’re worth the time. 💕

Now go run that bath, grab your snacks, and ignore the world for a bit.

You’ve earned it.

Current Skincare Routine

 Hey Y'all!

My current skincare routine is very simple:

It really hasn't changed since this blog~

https://craftinwifescreations.blogspot.com/2023/12/skin-care-im-currently-using.html

Other Skincare Blogs~

https://craftinwifescreations.blogspot.com/search?q=skin+care

However most of these products are close to empty...

Morning-

Wash face (currently still the Neutrogena), then moisturize, preferable with something containing SPF, then another SPF product- either a makeup primer, and SPF powder, or a sunscreen. Lip balm, any but prefer one with SPF.

Night- Wash face, 2x week I use the spin brush, moisturize with either Charlotte Tilbury, or Laneige Water Sleeping Mask,  and their lip mask 2 or 3 times a week.

I'm trying to keep it simple, and use fewer products. So far this routine has been working well. I will have to come up with some cheaper moisturizer options when these are gone. Any suggestions? Please leave them below!

Continuing the Beauty Tag 126-150

 Hey Y'all!

Here's the next part of this Beauty Tag. I hope you're all enjoying these, they are fun to fill out...

The numbers are all messed up, I've not figured out how/why it does that. These are questions 126-150.

  1. Have you ever used artificial tanning spray? I've use the Jergen's Lotion before, and I liked it, but don't care to appear tan enough to spend money on it.
  2. How confident are you about your skin complexion? It's pretty good.
  3. Would you ever use Castor Oil on your eyelash? For what? No thanks.
  4. Who are your favorite beauty gurus? I'm subscribed to a few, but I don't watch every video from anyone.
  5. How many types of products do you use on an average day? Anywhere between 0 and 10 is pretty average.
  6. Have you ever applied conditioner before applying shampoo? No.
  7. What’s your staple skin care product? Y'all know I'm in love with that Dior Eye Serum.
  8. Which hair care product is your favorite? I'm using Oribe Mousse now! Yay for hair long enough to style! It's a nice lightweight mousse that isn't "crunchy" but still holds well.
  9. Have you ever joined any makeup class? Does Cosmetology School count? Or Hair Shows?
  10. Which supplement or vitamin tablets do you take to manage your beautiful mane? Just a daily vitamin.
  11. Have you ever fallen in love with a particular product so much that you kept the product in your kit even when it was finished? No, that just silly. Re-purchase it, or move on.
  12. What’s the most vibrant color in your closet?  Like clothing? Probably neon pink.. same for makeup actually, neon shades.
  13. Do you wear matching lipstick with your attire? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Depends on the outfit, and the rest of the makeup look.
  14. How do you choose eyeshadow colors? I can only carry so much with me, and I switch them out every 3mo. I try to keep a little bit of everything, color wise. I've been really into pinks and golds lately. I usually just pick from one or 2 palettes for each look.
  15. In which way, do you love to wash your makeup brushes? I have a brush cleanser from Ulta, and one of those silicone mats (mine's from TJ Maxx). I try to do it biweekly.
  16. What’s your favorite beauty app? I don't know that I have one...
  17. Which primer is your favorite? Porefessional is the one I use most often, or something drug store- no holy grail product. Suggestions?
  18. Is there any ingredient in cosmetics that you usually avoid? Formaldehyde.
  19. What’s your monthly budget for cosmetics? I don't have one. I don't buy them monthly, and I don't need every collection out there. I also never pay full price.
  20. Do you support PETA friendly brands? Do some digging on PETA, and ingredients, testing, etc. I support being cruelty free, but will admit not all my products are.
  21. In the past few years, is there any brand that you stopped using? Nope (unless they went out of business).
  22. Three products that you always contain in your bag? Lip Balm (no specific brand). Which ever lip gloss/stick I'm wearing that day, I don't know why I rarely ever reapply. Lastly, oil blotting paper, the current one I'm using is clinique.
  23. Are you a natural soap lover? Meh. It's ok, but not something I use often.
  24. Which brand of soap do you usually use? Bath and Body Works, or Dove.
  25. Are you dealing with dark circles? Nope.

Have a great day,
Craftin' Wife

Beauty Tag (126-150)

 Hey Y'all!

Here's the next part of this Beauty Tag. I promise to have something else next Beauty Blog (Wednesday). The numbers are all messed up again, I've not figured out how/why it does that. These are questions 126-150.

  13. Do you wear matching lipstick with your attire? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Depends on the outfit, and the rest of the makeup look.
  14. How do you choose eyeshadow colors? I set up an everyday drawer for the month by choosing things I haven't worn in a while, then I pick daily from there. I tend to go with a theme or match my outfit. If I need another color I'll reach into the drawer, but that's rare.
  15. In which way, do you love to wash your makeup brushes? I have a brush cleanser from Ulta, and one of those silicone mats (mine's from TJ Maxx). I try to do it weekly.
  16. What’s your favorite beauty app? Influenster.
  17. Which primer is your favorite? Primer is pointless 90% of the time. But I do like it in cooler months and use Porefessional from Benefit.
  18. Is there any ingredient in cosmetics that you usually avoid? Formaldehyde.
  19. What’s your monthly budget for cosmetics? I don't have one. I don't buy them monthly, and I don't need every collection out there. I also never pay full price.

RV-Friendly Skincare

RV-Friendly Skincare: Protecting Your Skin from Travel & Weather ✨🚌

Another Craftin’ Wife’s Creations Blog

Hey friends! 👋

Life on the road is full of adventure, but let’s be honest—traveling in an RV can be rough on your skin 😅. Between sun exposure ☀️, dry air 💨, wind 🍃, and constantly changing weather 🌦️, it’s easy to feel like your skin is paying the price while you chase sunsets 🌇 and quirky roadside stops 🛣️. Today, I’m sharing my favorite RV-friendly skincare tips that are easy to pack, apply, and keep you glowing ✨ no matter where Wildebeest takes us.

1. Keep It Minimal & Multi-Use 👜

When living in a converted bus, counter space is precious (and so is cabinet space!) 😬. I stick to multi-use products whenever possible:

  • Tinted moisturizer with SPF – Combines hydration 💧, coverage, and sun protection 🌞 in one step.

  • Lip balm with SPF – My lips dry out quickly in wind and sun 👄, so this is a must-have.

  • All-in-one cleanser – Foaming, micellar, or balm cleansers work great without taking up extra bottles 🧴.

2. Sunscreen Is Non-Negotiable 🛡️

Even on cloudy days ☁️, UV rays can sneak in! I always keep a travel-sized sunscreen in the RV and one in my day bag 👜. For long drives 🚐 or outdoor adventures 🏕️, I go for broad-spectrum SPF 30+. Pro tip: Reapply often 🔄, especially if you’re sweating or spending time outside!

3. Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate 💦

RV air is dry, especially when the heat 🔥 or AC ❄️ is running. Hydration isn’t just about drinking water (though yes, that’s important!)—your skin needs it too:

  • Lightweight moisturizer: A gel or lotion keeps skin soft without feeling greasy 🥰.

  • Facial mists: Quick and easy pick-me-ups during travel days or campsite setup 🌲.

4. Travel Smart With Your Skincare Routine ✈️

I keep my routine simple, consistent, and portable 🎒. A small cosmetic bag holds everything I need: cleanser, toner (optional), moisturizer, sunscreen, and eye cream 👁️. No fuss, no spills, no counter chaos 😌.

5. Adapt to Weather Changes 🌤️🌪️

We often travel through different climates in a single week. Here’s how I adjust:

  • Hot & sunny ☀️: More SPF, lighter moisturizer, cooling sprays ❄️.

  • Cold & windy 🌬️: Thicker creams, balm for lips 💋, hand cream for dry patches 🖐️.

  • Rainy or humid 🌧️: Lightweight gel, mattifying sunscreen, minimal layers 🩳.

6. Protect While Camping 🏕️

When I’m out photographing 📸, hiking 🥾, or exploring roadside attractions 🗺️, I add a few extra steps to protect my skin:

  • Hats & sunglasses 🧢🕶️ – Block harsh UV and reduce squint lines.

  • Light scarf or buff 🧣 – Great for wind or dusty trails.

  • Hands & feet ✋🦶 – Often forgotten, but they can show travel wear the fastest.

7. Small-Space Storage Hacks 📦

Living in an RV, I’ve learned to maximize every inch of storage:

  • Use stackable mini containers for creams and lotions 🏺.

  • Travel spray bottles for toners or mists 💨.

  • Zippered pouches for your skincare “stations” – one for daily use, one for travel days 👜.

Living on the road doesn’t mean compromising on self-care ✨. With just a few thoughtful adjustments, you can protect your skin from travel and weather without taking over the RV with a million products 🚐💖. Trust me—your future, glowing self will thank you!

Happy crafting, adventuring, and glowing 🌟,
Amanda

Empties & What I'm Using Now (Beauty)

 Hey Y'all!

I thought I'd share my recent empties, if you like content like this I'll put it in the rotation. I'd probably have enough to make up a blog quarterly (every 3mo). It takes me a while to get through a product!

The empties:

Profusion Juicy Lip Tint, $4 USD each. I love this product and as soon as I'm out of the one I'm using now I'll probably repurchase this. I've raved about it on the blog before. The only negatives are, the applicator is a bit large, and mine started to leak after awhile. I don't know if this was a product issue, or a storage issue, but I keep a lip balm in the car so I didn't have to worry about traveling with them.

*Photo from website, I forgot to take a pic of the Lip Tint empties before throwing them away. With exception of my empties pic below all other's are stock photos.*

The rest of this month's empties!

Hair Food Manuka Honey & Apricot Conditioner, $8 USD. I really liked this when my hair was first coming back in. Now it's a bit thick, and heavy for me. We have had a really warm December so far, but as Winter sets in and it dries out I may try it out again.

Supergoop! Defense Refresh Setting Mist, $30 USD. (Mine was a different packaging *see picture above*, same product.) I love this product, and have mentioned it several times before. It's already been repurchased, but isn't what I'm currently using. I love the non-scented, non-sticky SPF coverage.

Amika: SoulFood Nourishing Mask,  $16-$42 USD. I have always loved amika products, ever since my sister bought me this one Christmas. (My hair is long enough to use it again now too!!) I have already got a back up of the hair mask. My favorite product of theirs however, is the dry shampoo.

Bliss Micro Magic (Microdermabrasion Scrub) $15 USD. This was especially nice at the time my skin was going crazy during (and immediately after) chemo. I like that the "grit" was very fine, and it didn't have much of a scent. The only drawback was the tube was sometimes hard to get product out of.

Would I repurchase? Have I?
I would, for all these. They all worked really well for me. (Things usually get passed along to friends/family if they don't work for me.)
Have I repurchased any of them? Yes, both the Amika Hair Mask, and the Supergoop!

What I'm using now in place of:

Profusion Juicy Lip Tint~
LA Colors Lip Oil, from Dollar Tree. (Local to me they are still $1 USD) This is a bit thin, and doesn't last quite as long as other lip oils, but it's a good product, especially for $1. They also have a Lip Oil on their website for $3.50 but I've not tried it.

Hair Food~

As I Am Leave in Conditioner, $10 USD.  I've had it awhile and I'm just trying to work through it, it's a good product, but not my favorite. I use it about twice a week, and it does a great job, and I like the scent. I don't know why I don't love it, but when I put another option in the shower I quit reaching for this.

Supergoop!~
E.L.F. Matte Magic Mist & Set, $5 USD. Does Setting Spray go bad? I'm not sure, but that's why I'm currently using the elf. I've had it for awhile, and it's a quick to use up product. I'd prefer to use it up in the winter months when there's less outside activities going on (and less sunshine in general). I've used this setting mist before and I do like it, I just like the ones with SPF more. This one feels a bit like hairspray for the face, and that's not my favorite feel/scent. I'll switch back to Supergoop in the Spring.

Amika~ Using the same mask, but not as often since I'm using the leave-in.

Bliss~ Haven't repurchased anything in this category.  Once a week or so I've been using Hubby's "Man Wash" (Dove) but it's too gritty for me, and smells like a forest, which isn't my preference. I'm sure he'll appreciate me getting my own soon.

Current Favorites & Fails (Beauty)

 Hey Y'all!

I've been trying a few new things out recently so I figured now was time to do a mini review on those items!

Favorites:

Hair~

K18 Leave-in Molecular Hair Mask- at around $60 USD an ounce I didn't want to like this. (I got mine through Influenster.) I do like it though. It's virtually unscented, which I love, and it makes my hair less "poufy" and very smooth. From their website:  The patented peptide technology works to repair damage from bleach, color, chemical services & heat – restoring strength, softness, smoothness, and bounce to hair. I don't know if I believe any product can repair your hair, but it definitely is smoother, and softer.

Makeup~

IBY Beauty Glam Eyeshadow Palette-  At around $20 USD this eyeshadow palette is fantastic! The colors are well pigmented and blend fabulously. I hope the brand continues to grow, and flourish. From their site:

  • Infused with Rosehip Seed Oil for skin protecting properties
  • Formulated with Vitamin E to nourish skin and provide antioxidant benefits.
  • Vegan, Gluten Free, Cruelty Free.
  • Manufactured without Talc, Mineral Oil, Parabens, Phthalates and Sulfates.

(I do have a coupon code if interested: enter code CraftinWife25 at check out to save 25% off your order!)

Skincare/Body~

EcoTools Body Roller- (All the tools in this kit are nice, but this was my favorite.)  I like the fact that I can slather on the lotion without getting messy. From the website: The Body Roller is the ultimate self-care tool to help reduce puffiness and smooth skin.

Fails:

Hair~

Nothing I've tried recently I'd put in the fail category.

Makeup~
Profusion Cosmetics Mean Girls Regulation Hottie Cooling Facial Mist~ (Wow, that's a mouthful!) This smells great, like peppermint, and I enjoyed that aspect. The cooling factor, I didn't really notice. Other than that, I don't think it did anything. From their website: a cooling face mist that will make you feel like a regulation hottie with every spritz.

Skincare/Body~

Physicians Formula Argan Oil~ I liked this okay at first, but either I got an older batch or it has a really short shelf life, because it went real stinky, real quick. I didn't notice any of the claims actually working for me, but my skin was well moisturized. From the website: 100% Pure Argan Oil, known as "liquid gold" for this its rich conditioning benefits, can improve skin's brightness, tone, texture and elasticity. Weightless multi-tasking miracle combines the benefits of a moisturizer, primer, brightener, protector & treatment in one!

My Easy Day & Night Beauty Routine for Life on the Road

My Easy Day & Night Beauty Routine for Life on the Road

Hey beautiful friends!

Amanda here, your Craftin’ Wife, sharing my go-to day and night beauty routines that fit perfectly into our busy, on-the-road lifestyle. Whether you’re camping under the stars or cruising down the highway, taking a little time for yourself keeps me feeling refreshed and glowing — no matter where we park.

Morning Routine: Ready to Shine

  • Cleanse & Refresh: I start with a gentle cleanser to wash away overnight oils without drying my skin.

  • Moisturize & Protect: A lightweight moisturizer with SPF is a must to keep skin hydrated and shielded from sun damage.

  • Multi-Task Makeup: I use a tinted moisturizer or BB cream with SPF, a swipe of blush (that doubles as lip tint), and a quick coat of mascara.

  • Set & Go: Finish with a spritz of setting spray to keep everything in place through the day’s adventures.

Evening Routine: Wind Down & Renew

  • Gentle Makeup Removal: I love using makeup remover wipes or micellar water with a cotton pad — quick, easy, and water-saving.

  • Cleanse Thoroughly: Follow up with a gentle cleanser to refresh and clean my skin.

  • Hydrate Deeply: A richer moisturizer or night cream helps skin recover and stay soft overnight.

  • Special Care: Depending on the day, I might add a few drops of facial oil or a nourishing eye cream.

Even with a small space and a busy schedule, these simple steps keep my skin happy and healthy. The key is choosing multi-use products and keeping things light but effective.

What’s your favorite part of your beauty routine when traveling? I’d love to hear!

Glow on,
Amanda, The Craftin’ Wife 💖
