Back to School Questionnaire(s) Filling Them Out As My 1999-2000 Senior Self Would...

It was much harder to find the myspace, back to school "surveys" I was thinking about when I can up with this blog idea. I did manage to find a few, and I'll be sure to link each one.

***My 17yr old self answers are in PURPLE, if my current answer is different, or I have something to add it'll be in RED.***

I technically went to two High Schools at the same time my Jr & Sr years. My "Home" school was Black River & I went to the JVS (Medina County Career Center) for Cosmetology.  All my classes those years were at MCCC, but any sports, or ceremonies outside of Cosmo were at Black River.

Funny side note, I don't think the school salon has change prices ever. 99% sure these were the same when I was there 22 yrs ago.

It looks like the cost is about the same too. They got lucky with black scrubs, my junior year we wore white only. We complained enough that we got to vote in a new color (very few options) and it went to dark blue &/or white my senior year. (We didn't have an embroidery requirement.) The salon itself has also been completely updated. The senior lab/salon was very late 80s, early 90s with burgundy, grey, and teal. Junior lab was burgundy and wood fixtures and yellow walls.

• What is your full name?  Obviously not sharing, for privacy reasons. Amanda is my first name.
• Do you like your name? Why or why not? Not really, it was very common in small town NE OH. 
• Do you have a nickname? If so, what is it? Nope.
• Yep, lots. Most commonly used are Enna, and Mana.
• When is your birthday? June 19th.
• Do you have any siblings? If so, how many? One, sister.
• Hubby has 3 brothers, and 2 sisters. 2 siblings I never met, they passed before we got serious. (One before hubby was even born.)
• Do you have any pets? If so, tell me about them. Ginger, a pit bull and Blazer, a chow/shepherd mix.
• Currently no, ours passed away a little over a year after we bought the house.
• Who is your favorite relative? Why? ??? ???

Future Goals

• What career do you hope to have? Stylist, or hair show instructor.
• I like what I'm doing now, I'd just like to scale it.
• Do you want to go to college? Why or why not? No, I have no idea what I'd go for.
• I did go, for Administrative, and finished in 2004. I mainly used it for retail management.
• If you want to go to college, which one do you want to attend? N/A
• Where do you see yourself in five years? Ten years? Either working in a salon, or traveling doing shows.
• We plan, and God laughs. Isn't that how the saying goes? I did the hair thing for about a year. Moved to VA, moved back to OH, worked in retail, got married, moved to TN... 
• Do you plan to stay in this area or move away? All my family is (mostly) here so probably stay in Ohio.

This Year in School

• What are you most looking forward to this year? Graduating.
• What are you least looking forward to this year? State Boards, I'm looking forward to them, but nervous too.
• Which school clubs are you planning to participate in this year? None.
• Because of the hours requirement we didn't really have the freedom/time to participate in much outside of our basic classes & cosmetology. We were all auto-members of VOFT though none of us actually participated as far as I know.
• What extracurricular activities do you plan to join this year—such as sports, theater, or band? See above.
• Do you think that you learn better by seeing, hearing, or doing something? Doing!
• I'd say seeing, then doing. Hearing how to has never worked well for me.
• Do you consider yourself well organized? Not particularly.
• Where do you typically do your homework? At home, on the kitchen table.
• Do you like to listen to music while you do schoolwork? Sometimes, other times it's distracting.
• Now I have trouble working without noise.

Free Time

• What do you like to do in your free time? Go to the movies, go shopping, normal late 90's "teen" stuff.

• What's your favorite type of music? Pop, but listen to most anything.
• Anything but new pop, I guess I'm too old.
• What's your favorite TV show? Gilmore Girls. UPN, WB, CW was the teen TV station even then.
• So many more TV options now! I don't even know a show on current "regular" TV.
