One of my favorite parts about fall (besides pumpkin spice everything) is switching up my nail game. Just because we’re living tiny and constantly rolling down new highways doesn’t mean we can’t rock salon-worthy nails. Whether you’re parked under golden maples in Vermont or chasing sunsets through the Smokies, these easy-to-pack, RV-friendly nail trends will keep you feeling cozy and glam all season long.

My Nail Polish Collection

 Hey Y'all!

This isn't a declutter, just showing my storage, or lack of. As well as adding in a few new ones, all glow in the dark.

I had mentioned in the last Nail Polish blog that the storage solution, a hanging shoe bin, had fallen off the door (now vinyl storage). The shelf in the hall with my tea pot collection was supposed to be temporary, but I haven't found a better solution, and the craft room is rather full. Any ideas let me know in the comments below!

My Nail Polish Collection

 Hey Y'all!

If you've been following me for awhile you know my old nail polish storage (hanging) fell down, and so I had to go through them all, and figure out something new.

I still have them all sitting on the tea pot collection shelf, and I don't love it, but I haven't come up with anything better. 

I haven't gotten rid of anything, and have added a few new ones, so it was time for a tiny declutter, and a collection update since it's been almost 2 years! (Wow!)

I started out with 95, and decluttered 14, leaving me with 81. Had I been paying attention to the number while cleaning up I could have probably chosen one more to declutter, but I didn't count until I was uploading pictured.

Upside down nail polish equals decluttered!

Most of what ends up decluttered are the Sally Hansen Gel Like polishes, I wasn't a big fan of these and they're getting too old to keep. Other than those it was polishes I know I've had for years, and don't ever reach for.

I clearly like the sparkle! I have several in every color.

I was surprised I have so many blues and greens, and so few pinks!

 

These nail art kits I got through Influenster, and really enjoyed trying them out.

I don't wear red often, so this is more than enough.

SinfulColors Sweet & Salty Nail Polish Review

 Hey Y'all!

Today I'm talking about the Sinful Colors Sweet & Salty Collection. I have two shades, Taco Tuesday, {pictured} and Pizza Party. These are the only two I've seen locally.  There are six shades in total. I would love to see the others in person, the cookies & cream, or donut even are especially interesting.

Pictured is two very thin coats of Taco Tuesday.

Directions:

Shake gently. Apply 2 coats of color + 1 coat of top coat.

I did not add a top coat, which I'm sure would have helped, but I only wanted to wear this a few days, since I wasn't sure how it was going to perform or if I'd like the look.  Without a top coat it lasted about 2 days before chipping. I'm 99% sure that's due to the textures of the "taco toppings".

The scent was there, but just barely, which worked for me since I didn't want anything overpowering. I noticed it while painting them, and again when I smelled my hands afterward. It still smells like nail polish, but not nearly as strong as normal. I'd like to see how the sweeter shades smell. 

It was a fun experience, and I've not tried a scented polish since childhood! For around $2.00 USD I'd definitely recommend. I think they'd be especially fun for a tween/teen sleepover.

January 2016 Birchbox

It arrived yesterday, so I can give you a first impression on everything except the face wash, I've yet to try it.

 Other than being sick of getting perfume for the past 3 mo straight (4 total, in  7 boxes) I am liking the initial look of this box. This is the first time I've received a nail polish, and I don't have any from this brand.

Ciate Nail Polish First impression: I like the color, and it dried super fast, which is nice,  the brush is also a bit wider than your standard nail polish brush which I also liked. I didn't use a base coat, but with both coats it went on a bit streaky and dries somewhat textured. Not sure I'm a fan of this.

 Eyeko Fat Liquid Liner First Impression:
Harder than heck to apply, this could also be because I don't typically wear liquid liners. It is definitely smudgeproof, but almost dries too fast for me.  It's a great semi shiny true black shade, which is nice. I'll have to play around a bit more with this to see if I like it or not.

TonyMoly Delight Tony Tint (#2 Red) First Impression:
Goes on easily, and is advertised as a sheer red, but after two coats I still didn't feel like it was an even coat, though in the pictures it looks alright. It stayed tacky for about 5min, then felt super dry for about another 5. Now it feels a little dry, but otherwise okay. I'm not sure I'm feeling this on its own, but will continue to try it out.

Meet your Destiny Perfume First Impression:
Every other sample I've gotten has been such a strong fragrance I was surprised at how incredibly light this one is. I'm still not a fan of perfume samples, but this one I will actually wear.

Key West Aloe Cleanser I've not used yet.

Nail Polish Collection & Declutter

 Hey Y'all!

I finally got to the nail polish. It's packed enough for now. It'll most likely get put in one of the bathroom bins, and I'll take 2 or 3 colors with me at a time when out on the road...

I did not do a count beforehand:

This is what I'm decluttering:

Some were just old, and needed to go. Some of the others I have too many that are similar. The glitters are just too chunky for my current likes. The pale pink is a decent polish, just not a color I gravitate towards.

What I'm keeping for now:

Probably still too many, but my goal was a single later in this basket, so it's not too far off..

Y'all, I did it, I edited it down some more after this and it fits as a single layer...

Declutter Series #1, Nail Polish!

Hey Ya'll!

Sorry this is so late, we took a last minute vacation last week, and there was no internet.

Nail Polishes!
I decided to start off this declutter series when my nail polish storage broke and fell off the wall. I only lost one to breakage, but realized it had been YEARS since I'd went through them all.

 I did this declutter in two sections, first I removed polishes that I had more than one of, or would no longer wear the color. I'm not into spending the time it takes for nail art, so all that is getting decluttered.

 Then while color sorting I pulled out old, dried out polishes for trash.

After I color sorted I got down to the "nitty gritty" in choosing what to keep in each color family. The ones that are upside down in each picture are decluttered.

Started with 171
Decluttered 37 (As well as 15 sticker sets, 1 kit, nail art, and dryer)
Trashed 54

Overall kept 80, or 53.2%

This is the current storage situation, until I can come up with something better:

 The same color family is kept together, but in no particular order.

I did better than I thought, though I got rid of a lot to the trash. I could probably cut the purples and blues some more, but I'm happy with where it's at now.
